Bottom line first: good food, good value, great service I was in the middle of a long drive from down the hill back home. My girl decided to call in the order for me to pick up. No problem, except that the traffic from San Diego was pretty damn heavy. Although she thought I will make it there by 6PM, Waze clearly told me differently. In fact, I was projected to be half an hour past their closing time. I called, and the nice lady said that she would wait for me to pick up the food. At 6:26, the lady call me back, just to make sure that I am still on my way. I informed her that I was two minutes out. Getting into the complex from the south was slightly tricky, having to make the left at the intersection, because there was a divider preventing the left on the main stretch. And of course, the light didn't cooperate. I got there at 6:30. I gave her my card and asked to use the bathroom, a request which she nicely obliged. Finding the light was a little bit tricky, as it was not at the usual spot next to the door, but in the middle of the other wall. After I came out, I told her of my situation, with another hour of driving to go. She asked if I want a Vietnamese coffee. Initially, I said no, and then I said OK. I was ready to pay for the additional drink, but she generously said it would be on the house. I said thanks and made it up with extra tip. The coffee definitely help me stayed the course. After we got home, we enjoyed the nice entrées, which were very reasonably priced and very tasty. I had my usual barbecue pork and eggrolls. Yummy! If we were in the area again, we will definitely go back to this nice intimate place with such wonderful service. read more

I love this place, definitely a hole in the wall hidden restaurant. It's really small and doesn't look like that nice when you walk in, but man oh man i always go here for the bun bo hue! I met my friend here for lunch today, and I was excited to try a new place that she has been going to for years. I got a Vegetable Pho with the Vegetable Broth and it was 80% Vegetables, 10% Noodles and 10% Broth - the portions were not inline at all. You'd hope for a more even balance of everything. I left almost all the veggies because it was just way too much. The inside is very tiny - and the bathrooms are disgusting; there was a leak and water all over the women's room floor (which they are aware of because a restaurant staff member used the restroom right before me and had to have clearly seen it). The 3-stars are due to the restroom cleanliness. The food overall was good while the portions of things were way off; but I'm not sure I'll be adding this into my rotation. read more

Delicious hot broth, in a separate container and the meats, noodles, onions & cilantro in another & garnish in a bag. I heated up the broth & put 1/2 of my order in a bowl, added meats & garnishes, and mixed all together. Delicious comfort food. Definitely will drop by and order again. A lot of parking, they have a good little restaurant that fits about 5-6 different parties. For the most part it was clean, I don't know if it was just me but I could not find the light switch in the me restroom. But anyway, the service was great, they were kind, helpful and quick! We waited for at least a little over 5 minutes for our food to arrive. I came here with family so we didn't order that much, so we thought. We were 5 hungry adults and we ordered the number 1, number 20 and 2 orders of the 4 pieces egg rolls, and their egg rolls were one of the best I've ever had! I would come back and ordered 4 orders of egg rolls! The broth on the number 1 was really good and the soup was hot when they served it. I got the bun bo hue and it was delicious!! The broth tastes just like the way my mom would make it at home but a lil sweeter. I got several slices of pork meatloaf in the dish and one pork part lol Im not sure how to describe it in English lol. The noodle soup came with cilantro garnish in the soup with a side of bean sprouts. The only reason I haven't returned is I noticed the teapot was really worn out and the place looks a bit worn down too making me question the "A" grade, but other than that the service was great. Ok, so I started this review back in Sept. 2019. So since that was awhile back I don't know if it's changed. But honestly, when I went, I was very surprised and pleased. I kinda didn't know what to expect. And I normally go to Pho Ha, but I was pressed for time and so I went in not expecting much since it was so empty and all, but it turned out to be really good and just hit the spot since I had to rush back to my event. This place is the bomb, and I mean it. The Bun Bo Hue is fabulous. We seek it out, from Vietnam to Philly and Seattle and everywhere else in between, and this bowl right here ranks in the top 5 for me. What really impressed me is their commitment to providing the right accoutrements-- thinly sliced banana flower is rarely found anywhere in the US. The bud itself is hard to find, and you must prepare it quickly or soak it in acidic water to stop it from browning on you. They also provided mam Tom, which is a funky, salty fermented prawn paste, and roasted chili flakes for extra heat if you wanted it. I mean.. all that care and effort for your dining enjoyment! That's hard to find these days. Blood cubes were a little hard. Pork hock was done just right, not too tender and not too firm. Just the right bite. The pork sausage was heavenly and clearly home made-- you don't get that feathery light texture and banana-leave fragrance anywhere. Bahn xeo was nice and crispy. Goi couns were freshly made, with a strip of garlic chive running through the middle-- just the way I remember them to look like from my many trips to Vietnam. I really appreciate the little tradition touches like that. We came here twice in 4 days on our short little visit, that's how good it was. read more

I'm not sure I could agree with the reviews that this is the best place for some pho. I was in town for work and came here based on the number of good reviews. I was a bit let down. The pho was at its absolute best of okay. The portion was okay. If I remember correctly, the pho comes in one size. My pho noodle was stuck together since they make it beforehand and just drop in the soup. One thing that was on point was how hot the broth was. The other disappointing thing was the condiments. They didn't have some of the extra condiments that most pho places would have, such as hot chili oil, vinegar jalapeño... I also put a lot of Siracha and hoisin sauce to give the pho some flavor. The owner, presumably, was managing the front. The place is small and she seemed just a little scattered trying to manage the three tables, of which includes mine as well. We definitely weren't expecting much from this small little Vietnamese shop, but dam*, this was the BEST banh mi sandwich we have ever eaten! Let's start from the beginning... My medical school friend was visiting from out of state, and we wanted to take him somewhere that he doesn't eat very frequently. Given that we were all Asian and Redlands isn't really known for authentic Asian food, we opted for pho instead. For my fiancee, pho was a comfort food. Whenever her and her Cantonese parents didn't eat dim sum, pho was the go to option. She was the one who introduced me to pho, and I fell in love with it every since--the savory broth, the soft tendon, the rare steak, and the hoisin and sriracha sauce. Anyhow, we decided to trust Yelp, and it led us to Pho 72. We ordered the spring rolls, Vietnamese coffee, and pho. The Vietnamese coffee was super strong and kept us awake for the rest of the day. .The summer rolls were large and filling enough to stand alone as a meal. But alas, our piping hot bowls of pho soup were coming. My fiancee got the pho with rare steak and tendon because she isn't really a fan of tripe. My friend and I got the pho special which consisted of everything--meatballs, tripe, rare stake, tendon, and flank. And did we mention that each bowl of pho was $7 and HUGE? Amazeballs. Since bringing our friend here, we stopped by here again and got the banh mi, another bowl of pho, and tried the dessert. The banh mi was deliciously crunchy stuffed with fresh, crisp vegetables with generous portions of grilled pork. We're pretty sure that the insides were lathered in butter. The Vietnamese dessert (ice, jello, beans, coconut milk, and fruit) was a nice way to end a meal. What a treat! It was packed when I came in around lunch time, my bf got the combo fried rice which was a huge portion and delicious, not greasy at all! I got the vermicelli beef and onions salad mix, it was really good, everything tasted great and the prices were very good! Pho 72 is not good! I don't know why it has such a high rating when it really isn't even good. There's better pho restaurants down the street. I came here with my family for lunch cause all the other pho restaurants were closed for New Years Day and honestly, we probably would have been better off eating non-Vietnamese food else where. We've always driven by Pho 72 but had never tried it before. We decided to give it a try this time and we weren't pleased! This restaurant is in a very low traffic and low energy plaza. It's very easy to miss. From the moment we parked and walked into the restaurant, I kind of had an idea of what the food here was going to be like. The vibe of the restaurant is like a Chinese food to go joint. Not much went into the decor or ambience of the restaurant to make it look lively. I really felt like I was in a food to go restaurant. Now onto the food. The food was bland. Extremely bland! My dad, brother, and I got the Pho Tai and the first thing we decided to do was taste the soup. The soup is VERY important when it comes to pho. If the soup isn't good, the pho isn't good! and unfortunately, the soup was bland. There was no flavor to it. We also didn't smell that authentic PHO smell that you get from pho. That smell is so important when it comes to pho!! So honestly, it really wasn't good. My mom got the Bun Thit Nuong and the fish sauce was also bland. When the fish sauce is bland, the dish itself is bland!! It had me questioning my taste buds! We were not satisfied with the taste of our food. The price of these dishes ranged from $8-$10. Was in the area for a festival over the weekend and pho is definitely a MUST when trying to revive yourself. This restaurant was really close to our hotel and had good reviews so we decided to give it a shot and I'm happy that we did. I usually order less noodles because i don't eat them fast enough and they just soak up all the broth but ordering less noodles was definitely a mistake lol. I was expecting just a regular sized bowl but it was larger than i expected. I do wish there was just a bit more meat and that the bean sprouts weren't so small but other than that it was really good. Will definitely be back for the next fest read more

I came here with a friend to try out a different pho restaurant from our usual options. We found this place on Yelp, and on arrival were surprised to find it completely empty (easy parking right in front of the restaurant). We figured we'd give them a try despite being concerned that there was nobody else in the restaurant. Pho: I got pho #8, and found myself happy with the portion size. It's enough to satisfy my pho craving, although I was likely able to eat another half bowl still. The meat was nothing special, but not a concern either. It was served with the usual medley of vegetables on the side - limes, basil, bean sprouts, jalapenos (I don't recall seeing cilantro, which I don't mind). I love getting the bean sprouts pre-cooked to alleviate some of the raw flavor to it, and they were fast to take care of that. Overall, Pho 72 is a decent place for pho. The prices and portions are reasonable, the shop is convenient and while small, doesn't seem to fill up. Parking should be plentiful, particularly at dinnertime as half the neighboring stores are closed. The service could use some improvement, but they have everything you might need at a pho restaurant available. read more

My husband's took me here for lunch today. We sat down to eat dine in we were promptly greeted. Then when looked over the menu. I got the pho rare beef and flank steak. My hubby got the pho rare beef flank and tripe. Both phos were good the broth was missing something it wasn't as tasty as the one I had at pho lucky. But they did put a lot more meat. My hubby got a soda and I got ice jasmine tea sweet but it was a little too sweet next time I'll ask for half sweet half unsweetened. Then we got a side order of white steamed rice. We also ordered the chow fun it had a mix of vegetables in a tasty sauce with big noddles and tofu. My hubby isn't really a fan of tofu but I got him to try it. He thought it was good. I really enjoyed it the taste was great for it to have no meat. We're a meat and potatoes kinda people so I really think that it tastes pretty good to be just noddles vegetables and tofu. Overall it was a good lunch date. The service was Awesome the gentleman taking our order and whom also greeted us was very friendly and welcoming. Way better service here than pho lucky.
