My favorite order is the Special #1, which comes with a big portion of veggies & different condiments. ALSO, you must not forget the spring rolls - otherwise your order is not complete!! The service is admittedly not the best; as local spots like these go, the store is very busy and often loud. You will likely need to wait a little longer to get your server's attention. But compared to the actual pho here, these are only very very minor complaints; we have visited Pho 87 countless times for their pho & deep broth! I am a creature of habit so went with the combo beef pho (Dac Biet). Broth was wonderful and noodles were not overcooked. The broth stood out bc you can smell taste the aromatics yet it wasn't overpowering; the meat quality was decent not great. I thought the rare beef was a little tough. This restaurant looks grimy from the outside to be honest and not aesthetically pleasing, I almost made a u-turn and left! Glad I didn't, the pho makes up for it and inside the restaurant it's clean with a mixed crowd that dines here. I'd definitely come back, but it's not my first choice. read more

One specific dish that sets them apart is their charbroiled pork pho. It features the flavorful beef broth and thin slices of charbroiled pork that transport the bowl of noodle soup to a different dimension with its slightly charred, smoky flavor. Enjoy with hoisin sauce, sriracha, bean sprouts, and a squeeze of lime. Order a plate or 2 of the fried egg rolls for your table, and you'll be all set. Feeling like you could use a little jolt of energy? The Vietnamese iced coffee will keep you wired for hours! A couple of challenges here: Parking can be hard to find in their tiny parking lot or on the street near the restaurant, and lines can look intimidating during peak meal times. They are no longer cash only, thankfully! This pho is also not cheap, so be prepared to pay $20-25 with tax and tip. Customer service is great, and come often enough and the staff will remember you! We parked at a lot for $3/hour since we're quick eaters. What's special about Pho 87 compared to other pho restaurants is that they offer charbroiled pork pho. The sweet and charred pork goes well with the savory pho broth. Their combination pho was good, as well. The pricing at Pho 87 is on the higher end (avg $16 per bowl) unlike competing businesses in the area. Portions were generous and the meat quality was better. This is a true family run business. Came in for lunch with two colleagues on a rainy day. Place was packed. Free parking in an alley to the left of the restaurant (easy to miss) of what looks like a motel. Our server Tim recommended the pho that included pork, brisket and raw beef. He said it wasn't on the menu, but you can ask for it. We also ordered a plate of egg rolls. Everything was delicious! Came with sides to eat with our pho. He was very nice and hospitable. We were amazed at how quickly our food came! A regular bowl is $15, large $18. The grilled pork pho is better than I remember. I couldn't finish the large. They packaged the rest for me to take home, and added extra broth so I could properly enjoy my leftovers. We added shrimp to the soup; it's 6-7 shrimp in some stock to toss in or eat separately. The grilled beef fried rolls were not what we expected - better & bigger! The thin fried veggie egg rolls come with slices of grilled beef on cooked pho noodle patties topped with crushed peanuts & (I believe) fried onion pieces. It comes with lettuce to wrap & a sweet clear vinegar dip. The iced Vietnamese coffee is a delicious desert. Tastes like coffee ice cream. A solid 3.5+ and probably the most solid bowl of Pho in the DTLA area. Swung by a late Sunday afternoon, had a little 5 min wait and was seated. Place was still pretty packed, but theyve got the NFL games going on the TVs to keep you entertained if you get here and theres a wait. The get extra brownie points because they have a parking lot. It does fill up, but it seems to be the perfect amount for the size of the restaurant. Ordered my go to with the Dac Biet and extra meatballs. The broth was pretty tasty. A little more on the sweet side than savory dominant, but it wasnt overly sweet. Just added a few dashes of Sriracha and Hoison and that helped tame the sweetness. The meats were solid, but i will say the meatballs werent my favorite. I like those super bouncy ones w a nice snap, and theirs didnt really have a snap. A solid bowl of Pho without having to drive to the SGV or all the way to the OC. I've been coming here for many years, so I'm actually pretty surprised I've never given them a well deserved review. After having had pho many times during earlier college years (and with Vietnamese friends), I was never really WOWed by it. I didn't have it again until a few years after that when my girlfriend swore this place was one of the best in L.A. She was right! The broth at Pho 87 is soooo flavorful and the rare steak is actually tender, not chewy like so many other places. Serving sizes are generous and prices are fair. Their shrimp spring rolls are also amazing (and huge). My favorite part about this place (besides the food) is the staff. The owner knows her and is always so kind and attentive to us. They are very attentive to all of their customers, actually. You can tell they actually care about their patrons and establishment. 10/10 read more

I love this place so much. I lived in Fresno for almost 5 years and it was filled with the Lao and Vietnamese community, my first experience a pho was in Fresno, California,. When I left Fresno, I never found a phothat tasted as good but when moved back to LA in 2022, I searched high rated pho spots and came across this place, I found it the taste I was missing. This small and newly rennovated spot has been the go to spot for Pho. The place now accepts card for those who are been coming for years and may have not been here recently. The pho is well priced in today's time and does not miss on the flavor! Luckily this place still has their Sriracha bottles to add :) I have had their Vermicelli and egg rolls (Really Cripsy) with their fish sauce multiple times, which I recommend if you're not in the mood for something with soup. Can't forget to add that iced Vietnamese coffee! The staff is really nice. I believe they are family owned but even if they weren't they act as if they are family. Parking is can be a little tight at times in their parking lot but street parking may be the easier way if available. Great pho spot! Found this place randomly via search engines, and it did not disappoint. There are plenty of street parking in the area if there are no spots in their lot. The service is fast and efficient, and clean as well. The sides are all portioned perfectly for your pho/dish, and the food comes out quick and fresh. I recommend any of the pho options and the bun bo hue. The spring rolls are also super crispy, and summer rolls are THICC. Recommend to pay with cash. They don't charge the extra card fee.
