The pho was mediocre, at best. The food was ready within 5 minutes. Service was nice and pleasant. The place was somewhat busy with a lot of customers dining in or waiting for their takeout, like me. It was decorated like a typical Vietnamese Pho spot. Overall, I don't think I'll return here because I have better options not too far from this spot. Food was just mediocre and the price was about $4 MORE than my regular spot, and I ordered the exact same thing. Respectfully, no.

Pho 88 has been our go-to pho spot for over 10 years, and the most impressive thing is the consistency. The taste has never changed--the soup base is still rich, clean, and deeply comforting every single time. That kind of consistency over a decade is rare. Service here is exceptionally fast. Even when the restaurant is packed (which it almost always is), the longest we've ever waited was about 10 minutes, and most visits it's closer to 5 minutes. Food comes out hot and quickly without feeling rushed. Parking is never an issue, which is a big plus for such a popular spot. The pho with steak is excellent. The beef comes out raw, just as it should, and cooks perfectly once submerged in the hot broth. They're also generous with the meat--definitely not skimpy. I love sweet basil, and they always bring a big handful, which I really appreciate. The waiters and waitresses are very attentive, especially with refilling water, and they check in often without being intrusive. You feel taken care of even during busy hours. Pho 88 does everything right: great broth, fast service, generous portions, and consistent quality year after year. If you love pho, this place is absolutely reliable and worth returning to again and again.

Pho was alright, but the service and price was very much worth it. Ambience was like any other Vietnamese restaurant, staff there are mindful of what you need before even asking for it

Super clean restaurant with minimalistic furnishings. Small menu but exactly what you want in a Pho joint. Some places have too many things on the menu which causes them to not produce a good broth. The garden rolls were flavorless, the shrimp and pork tasted the same The house Pho #1 was very good, like a 7 out of 10 good. The overall meal was really nice.

bruh I only ordered spring rolls they smelled like burnt oil and looked very unappetizing.

This is an average pho restaurant. They offer chili oil which I think is a plus! They give out a lot of bean sprouts, basil, lime, and jalapeños. However, the meal we had was nothing but average. The broth is really good initially but I feel like when it cooled down, it lost its flavor. We also got the almond ice coffee which was very bitter and we did not finish it. Service was very minimal but they were attentive with refilling water. The ambiance was very average and good enough for us!

The flavor of the broth was good. Different from other pho places. Today's broth was heavy on the anise. Meats were top notch cuts. Garden Roll was fine. Hit the spot with all the ingredients, but the star was the peanut sauce. Also ordered the vietnamese Iced Coffee. Horrible. Took a sip and couldn't finish it. I'm not one for confrontation, so I didn't bother to complain. No other customer ordered the iced coffee, so that should have been a tip off. Many others did order a smoothie, so that may be what I should order next time. Service was fine. Definitely not consistent with all customers. Some people were still waiting for their food, while others that arrived after, received theirs first (and it's all pho orders).

Tried this place for the first time the other day. It was good. The inside is pretty typical for these places. Bare-bones little mom n pop place. Nothing fancy at all. The pho was good. The Vietnamese coffee was good also. It did spill as they filled it to high but was good. The pho is better than the look of the place.

This place has always been good every time I go, however, last time I went (today) I found a tiny roach on my pho soup and I immediately lost my appetite. I didn't tell them because my partner insisted to just not eat it anymore, we didn't want to complain. After this I will not be coming back because I am scared to get sick. I didn't take a photo of the tiny Roach because by then I tossed it out but here is a photo of the soup after I took out the roach. I am kind of disappointed because I love supporting small businesses, especially when their food is good but this is a no for me for health concerns.

This restaurant is located in a strip shopping center for more than 10 years. We had dinner here on a Friday night on 10/4/19. It was crowded with only one table free for us. We ordered regular size bowls of pho (#15 eye of round steak) for $7.79 and fried egg rolls (2 pieces) for $4. We were expecting the egg rolls to come out first since they were appetizers, but they were provided at the same time as the pho. It took 15-20 minutes for our meal to arrive. Everything was hot and delicious. In contrast to other local Vietnamese restaurants, the pho here has lots of noodles and meat in it. The egg rolls were crispy, not greasy. We recommend trying here for a casual meal now that the weather is getting cooler.

Been going to Pho 88 since I was a teenager. The shrimp and chicken fried rice portions are so big and best bang for your buck.

Oh, this is pho real my regular pho spot, no joke…read more I didn't review this spot for so long but I can't keep this to myself anymore since they are my no.1 since I moved to MD in 2021. I have since then had sooo many different pho places, even the ones people highly recommended here in Wheaton... Nope. This spot is better. I come here usually on a cold weekday, or whatever reason I just need my pho fix. To me, this spot is the standard of a good pho broth, the perfect noodles, and just simply the perfect ambient/ vibe for pho. I am writing this in the summer but looking at the photos again make me wanna go have my pho again! It's so good. I am not sure if I need to convince you with this review at all, just look at them photos! Doesn't make you want pho? Well, at least I do. And even if you don't go there... I will. So no worries lol. I LOVE YOU PHO REAL ;-) Please stay in business forever. I will be there (soon)!

After looking online I found pho real with many positives reviews on yelp and google. Upon enter I was seated quickly for lunch time on a Wednesday. Interior wise a bit outed but run by a local family. I decided to order the large pho Tai. Food came out quick and I always tell people that you can tell if the pho is authentic by the taste of the broth. The broth was rich and flavorful with decent portion size. They didn't skimp on the garnishment, the bean sprout portion was big. All in all, had a good meal here and would recommend anyone to come and try this place.

"I don't know. I still don't get this obsession with the holidays," Hol responds. Moments later, hoping to lift her spirits and perhaps bring them together closer romantically, Stewart volunteers to celebrate in the same way that brings Hol joy, not knowing that for her the perfect night out involves a bar fight on the third moon of Galtos instigated by none other than Hol herself. Unlike Stewart and Hol, my wife's and my expectations going to Lulu's Gourmet on 13600 Baltimore Ave. in Laurel, Maryland were the same. And those expectations were high, with both of us being fans of pho and both of us having been frequent patrons of the Pho Saigon 54 restaurant that previously occupied Lulu's Gourmet's location. Lulu's servings for the pho, even for takeout orders, are gargantuan, the same size as the barrage of snowballs Stewart playfully launches at Hol before he realizes that she is not enjoying Earth's Christmas holiday season as much as he does. While a tad salty, Lulu's pho tastes great so long as one orders extra noodles to dilute the saltiness. Upon both visits, my wife was disappointed to learn that Lulu's Gourmet did not have any of the Hong Kong Waffles available to purchase that they prominently advertise. On our second visit, she was even more disappointed to not get the strawberry banana cream trang mieng that I attempted to order. I perhaps made a mistake in not getting a receipt to know if we were charged for the dessert and another mistake in showing the manager what we wanted to order on my phone rather than reading our takeout order out loud. Being an optimist like Stewart, I would give Lulu's Gourmet 3.5 stars if that were possible; but, for the purpose of current records, it will have to be a 3.
