My wife loves Pho. We have had Pho at various locations in the area, and this was - by far - the worst for me. Granted, I didn't have Pho. In fact, I am unsure of what I had. The young lady at the front that took our order seemed rushed and confused. Everyone got a number to take back to their table, except us. We were worried that they may not bring our meal to our table. They managed to find us after roaming around the dining area searching for ordered our meals. Then, they placed a number on our table that they later picked up and replaced with another number. We were confused. However, the employees did seem friendly and willing to help out, so not horrible on the service. The food, on the other hand, was not good. I ordered a pork meal and the pork was chewy and overdone. They had this dipping sauce that I tried and it was unbelievably bad. I asked my wife to smell it, and I will not say what she said it actually smelled like. I am not a huge rice fan, but it was easily the best thing on my plate. Never again for me. read more

I really liked how the menu included photos of all the dishes, and ordering at the counter made things easier than having a server. My family and I absolutely love this place and come quite often, craving some delicious Vietnamese cuisine! All of the *phos* that we have tried, we love (however, we have learned that their meatballs are not our cup of tea! I think we usually get the #10) and the *cold noodle salad with grilled pork and an egg roll* (#22) is also a hugeeee favorite of mine--especially during the warmer season. That being said, if you come here (which I suggest that you do!), the one meal that you HAVE TO GET is the ***crispy chicken rice*** (#31). BEST CHICKEN EVER. The chicken has a delectably crispy outside unlike any American-style breaded and fried chicken, while the inside is still super juicy. It comes with rice that is garnished with little pieces crispy garlic, which makes it all the more amazing, a little salad that is seasoned SO so well, and a side of fish sauce to pour/dip anything into if you'd like (I usually don't use it though). It is honest to god, PERFECT!! Also, if you're looking for something sweet, their boba teas are amaazziiiingggg; I've only had their taro flavor, but I am not compelled to try any others, because the taro is just so dang good. Know that they are not like normal bubble teas though, as it has more of a frosty texture rather than the usual milk/tea. The only thing that stops me from giving Pho96 5 stars is their less-than-stellar service. One time when my mom and I were there, we accidentally dropped an egg roll on the floor. There was an employee there witnessing the whole thing who looked at the egg roll on the floor and walked away. It was... awkward. And disappointing because we lost an egg roll!!! No big deal though because their food will always keep me coming back for more!! 10/10 would recommend!:) read more

I've read for years how great Vietnamese food was so was looking forward to bringing some home. I ordered the beef stew and a pork/shrimp dish. The beef stew had transparent things floating in it, big transparent, god only knows what, that I couldn't think about putting in my mouth. The beef also looked kind of strange. My wife picked up something from her order and asked me what it was, I had no idea. The pork/shrimp looked like they had combined pork and shrimp and put it through a hot dog machine and made these dumpling like objects that were sort of pink and rubbery. The salad part looked good, she ate that, then got up and asked me if I wanted a frozen pizza from the fridge. I was tempted. Also the beef stew was strangely spiced, whatever it was I don't want any more of it. I really wanted to like this stuff, but I will never go back. read more

Our usual place was closed so we decided to try something new. Big mistake. I got the pho combo that came with a drink and an appetizer thinking "it's a deal!" When we walked in everything about the place lead to us expecting great things. My current favorite pho is pho kimmy and given some reviewers recommended pho 96 saying it much better, I thought why not give it a try....after all pho kimmy was closed on a wednesday evening. Unfortunately our expectations were wrong....although the prices look like a better value, the appetizers only come with one meager roll and although they are good it's not worth the extra amount you are paying for (you are better off opting for your own full order...if there is such an option.) The worst part of the meal was the pho....the broth smelled chemical-y and wrong before our first bite. After adding all the vegetable condiments and lime squeeze...it still tasted just as off as it smelled. I never had pho that tasted like this before. I wouldn't recommend coming here unless you are not planning on having pho. The bah mi combo looked appetizing but I didn't try it. I'm giving this place a 3-star with NO RECOMMENDATION only because the service was so pleasant and the place had a nice upkeep. It feels like the people who own the business care about their customers unfortunately the food is not quite there for me to give this place another try. So this place is worth a visit if you have no strong preferences on pho. Otherwise, I advise trying something else. read more

I grew up in California with pho restaurants everywhere. So when I moved here, I was happy to find this place. You if never had pho before it's a Vietnamese beef rice noodle soup. You can order with different kinds of meats including meatballs, flank steak, tendons, brisket, or a chicken version too. Then you add bean spouts, mint, jalapeño, lime, hoisin sauce, and Sriracha to it. Perfect for a cold or rainy day, which is lots of days in Ohio. I also got the iced Vietnamese coffee. This place was good, but not the same as CA. Would like to come back and try the sandwiches. Another Vietnamese thing that I really miss. read more

I got the #12 pho which was delicious! I had tried pho elsewhere in the greater Cincy area and was disappointed, but not here. The regular size was plenty big, especially if you use all of the bean sprouts, jalapeños, and Thai basil as I did. The restaurant was clean and the service was good as well. I gave the coconut bubble tea a try, which was good, however I don't really have anything to compare it against. Overall, my only knock is the price could be a bit lower. read more

There's something to love about a restaurant that lets your order in a line and brings the food to your table... Specially when it's fast and oh so yummy. Have been there a couple of times... Almost all for their bahn mi, which is served on the most perfect buttery roll. The pork meat is very flavorful and it is accompanied by the perfect ratio of toppings. Great place to get authentic pho! We have searched the Cincinnati area for years for a good authentic pho and nothing ever compares. This by far is the best in Cincinnati. We have been twice since the opening and loved it. The only downfall right now (both visits) I requested no cilantro and it came out wrong both times. The second time I sent it back it came out with no cilantro, but also no onions or scallions, even though I specifically requested the onions and scallions. This little mistake will not keep us from being repeat customers. If they were open on Mondays we'd be going today. read more

Lived in SEA for 25 years and also from west coast where Pho restaurants are on every corner. First off ordered the pho set. Fresh spring roll was great. All ingredients fresh and good size. The Pho broth is weird. Not bad. But wrong and weird. Cloves overpower the taste. The broth should be simpler so the diner can add their own touch. Sitting here with a strong clove aftertaste. Usually like to scoop the broth but not here. Also any Vietnamese restaurant that doesn't offer Vietnamese drip coffee (hot and iced) is crazy. Finally this place isn't cheap. 2 Phos and 2 drinks shouldn't cost $30. I gave 3 stars cuz it is not "bad". Just don't expect cheap or authentic. read more

Great tasting authentic Pho. I don't leave a drop in the bowl the flavor is that good. I'm not one to order appetizers since you really don't NEED one when eating out but we did order some rolls for the kids. They loved them! This place is terrific! I especially love the summer rolls served with peanut sauce. While the pho is delicious, I wish they served the vermicilli bowls as well. The staff is very pleasant and service is usually pretty quick although they get very busy at times and I have waited almost 30 minutes for pho. The dining area is clean and comfortable. Holy pho! I didn't know this place existed because it so out of the way from Cincinnati and gosh was I missing out. The closest thing we have to Vietnamese fast food, Pho 96 let's you pick combo meals with entrees including many varieties of Vientamese noodle soups but also cold noodle dishes, rice dishes and rice noodle yummies! Also there are egg rolls, spring rolls (made with rice paper)...and the kicker... bubble tea! I got my favorite dish of rice, pork chop with a superbly cooked fried egg. It tasted amazing - just like you would get in little Vietnamese town in Chicago on Argyle Street or even the Vietamese hot spots in Orange County! Basically what I'm trying to say is that this place is the real deal. Authentic and delicious Vietnamese dishes. Don't do yourself a disservice and stick with pho.
