    Duck noodle soup (new)
    Yuchen Z.

Food: the broth for the pho was really yummy and the duck noodle soup was very clear. I was surprised with the duck noodle soup because I thought it was just the big bowl of noodles, but then they brought out a large plate filled with duck meat and vegetables. I was very impressed with the portions and the meat was very tender and well broken down. The brisket in the fire was super tender and yummy and the portions were good as well. Parking: you can park in the tiny strip mall, but it will fill up and I'm not sure what to do when they run out of spots. Service: we had no issues with the service, but the table next to us seems to have gotten a lot of orders mixed up and wrong so make sure you repeat your order and clarify what you want. It's a small hole in the wall place.

Vermicelli bowl with egg roll and charbroiled pork. Absolutely the best you can find in the Seattle area!!

This is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in the greater Seattle area. I've been going to this restaurant for 25 years. It tastes just as good and has the same wonderful quality I remember from growing up. I love their vermicelli bowls and their Vietnamese crepe the most. I also love their pho. Their broth is light and doesn't have the strong strong herbal flavor that some phos in Seattle have. Their pho is the most authentic pho I've had outside Vietnam. The owner is kind and always nice to us. I try to come here at least once a month with my mom!

    Pho dac biet

Many locals say this is the best spot for pho in the greater Seattle area and they are not wrong! I tried the pho dac biet and the broth was some of the yummiest and cleanest I have tried and I agree that this is one of the best spots! Parking is a challenge but otherwise totally come here!

First time here with my picky 4 year old, n my childhood best friend for a lunch date and the food was amazing the restaurant was very clean n put together the staff was friendly. Sizes vs prices were respectable. Only thing I wish they would of checked in on us at least once after we started eating cause I needed a water refill. But we will be back. So good

1st time in the restaurant and they were busy! We ordered to go, waited a bit but wasn't too long. Interior is inviting and can sit down to eat. Was a bit uncomfortable as the receipt was not transparent and not sure what taxes and surcharges were. Overall food was delicious and made it worthwhile. Definitely tasty to go again!

I was looking for some authentic banh canh cua that tastes like it was made in Vietnam and Pho 99 did not disappoint. Banh canh cua translates to crab tapioca noodle soup or Vietnamese crab udon noodle soup. It is delicious and I was cravinggg it so bad. Pho 99 Authentic Vietnamese is located in Shoreline near Costco. It is definitely a hidden gem. They have a solid amount of tables for not a very big place. Their parking lot is small and filled a lot of the time so I just try to park close by and walk in. I got the Thai tea and the banh canh cua. The Thai tea was decent 8/10. The banh canh cua was a 8.5-9/10! Which is really good for Seattle! The reason why I give this place a 4/5 and not 5/5 is because their prices are not the same as on the menu and I wish that was made transparent. The menu said it is $23 for one bowl and 3.75 for a Thai tea but I believe after calculating and checking a few times, we were charged a couple dollars extra. Otherwise, it hit the spot. So just beware! I overall enjoyed my meal. It made me feel very nostalgic of the only time I visited Vietnam with my family. I hope to come here again in the future.

Overall pretty good, the vermicelli was filling and fresh. Great service, pretty fast and efficient. Good place for a casual meal for some authentic Vietnamese food

    Steamed rice with short ribs

The food here was delicious! Not only that, but the amount they give you is generous and the price is great. I ate the beef short ribs and it was tasty, juicy, and savory. I couldn't believe how much they gave me. I got broken rice on the side since it's a must for me. They give complimentary lychee water and it was sweet and smooth. Very nice of the store to offer that rather than regular water. The service here was good. The servers were nice, especially the older lady. She's interactive with the customers and offers generosity. The ambiance offers a nice and relaxing restaurant to enjoy your Vietnamese food. They offer traditional Vietnamese cuisines and are authentic with their dishes. FYI. Parking lot is VERY limited. There's a good chance you might have to park somewhere else. But this place is worth eating!

My favorite dish here, stir fried beef In lemongrass. So delicious!

It has that hole-in-the-wall feel off Aurora, but honestly, this is some of the best Vietnamese food I have ever had. I am Vietnamese myself, and I have been looking for months, really years, for a Vietnamese restaurant in the Seattle area that actually feels worth coming back to. A lot of places have been average, or they have dishes like bún riêu or bún bò Huế on the menu but do not really do them well. Lotus Pond does. I tried the bún riêu and the bò né with steak and sizzling eggs, and both were delicious. My friend got the seafood pho and loved it too. Everything tasted like someone actually cared about the food, and I really appreciated seeing menu items that you usually have to search far and wide for, or go somewhere like Orange County or Houston to find done properly. The only downside is that it is definitely on the expensive side, but I will absolutely be coming back. The outside may not be flashy, but the food is seriously worth it.

Fast forward a year later to a Sunday at 12:30pm and I finally made the long drive here without going through Aurora Ave since my GPS randomly decided to give my road rage some grace. This place has plenty parking around the perimeter, so it was easy settling in. Only confusion was finding the entrance to this place, but when I did I was actually surprised where I was stepping into. Inside is laid back and cool with plenty of seating for groups of various sizes. There's tables and booths, and I got booth seating for myself when I walked in. There's a TV playing sports nearby where I was, and Vietnamese pop music was playing in the background too. Menu consists of regular foods in most Vietnamese restaurants, though their provincial noodle soups and banh mi sandwiches caught my eye. They even have bún măng vịt (duck and bamboo shoot noodle soup), my favorite that I gotta try next time I come here! From my IG feeds and as a starting point, I got their bánh mì thịt heo nướng (grilled pork Vietnamese sandwich), which comes with all the works of a regular banh mi sandwich, though I was kinda surprised how brightly orange the grilled pork was. Regardless, it was tasty and the meat was juicy. The pork pate added a nice savory touch to the sandwich, and no other condiment was in excess that it took away taste from the flavorful grilled pork. Staff was very kind throughout, and refilled my water every now and then. It was also nice chatting with one of them about our day and other recommendations from the menu. There's so much to have on their menu so I need to make the drive here again to have more of their stuff!

The waitress remained friendly during our dinner but despite there being only 3-4 other customers in this very small restaurant, we were soon forgotten (no check ins, we were never brought the bill, etc.). That's fine, not a reason in itself to rate a one star... but here's where that comes in... I ordered the spicy beef soup as I am very much a fan of spicy food. It came out and was clearly just a hybrid pho concoction, some strange spices, very very little beef and some chunks of tofu(?). It was not spicy whatsoever and actually had hints of what smelled/tasted like bleach? I continued my attempt to consume the food as I was starving. I stuck to just the limited beef in the soup but ultimately couldn't stomach much more of the strange smelling/tasting broth. We had ordered potstickers as well and those were actually good. Some time after we left and as I'm drafting this review... I have visited the bathroom numerous times (I'll go easy on the TMI) and can effectively say my stomach is not handling whatever it is that I ate there. My stomach is still in knots, hours after leaving here.

Service is friendly, kind, quick, and welcoming. We ordered the spring rolls for an appetizer which had the perfect crunch. My oh my, what a feast and we brought home as much as we ate! I would say the winners were the beef and onion dumplings and the green beans (OMG I could have just ordered these and made a meal of them!)-- but other stand outs were the shumai, and the orange chicken. I think you can skip the oil sticks, (kind of bread like with out a lot of flavor), and would go with the hunan noodles instead of the chow main. The fried pork buns were doughy with out very much meat inside. All in all, a great place. Will definitely go back!
