Amazing Vietnamese food. They have a special curry chicken soup that is out of this world!

Ate there last night with a few friends, pictures got me! Our meals were good, the appetizers we ordered were not so good. Pho is tasty the seafood clear broth soup was very good, not much meat but the broth was yummy! We ordered spring rolls which are ridiculously overpriced, $5.95 for 2!!! Also Vietnamese style egg rolls, which are served with lettuce and cilantro, we were promptly told by who I'm assuming is the owner that those were not for decoration. I'm not sure why he felt the need to interrupt our meal to lecture us but we got a good laugh out of it. The papaya shrimp salad is some sort of attempt at lotus root salad.. It definitely fails. The papaya is nicely shredded but it was not "pounded", very crisp...little to no flavor and at $8.50 very disappointing. Boba was great! Appreciated our server letting us know that their pineapple wasn't great, that night. For sure there are highs and lows here, but it's a comfortable laid back atmosphere which is nice. The two female servers were unfriendly and slow. The grilled beef with broken rice was very good. The grilled pork was too fatty. The regular ice tea was watered down. It was pretty warm in the restaurant. read more

Great pho but they've messed up a takeout order for the second time in a row. The first time they didn't know include the peanut sauce for the spring rolls, or any sauces for the pho. This time they left out the spring rolls even though they charged us for them, and they didn't put the ingredients in the pho. read more

We were for a quick visit in Sarasota and I'm so happy that I found Pho 99. Amazing service, we asked for extra jalapeños and extra chives and they were served promptly. Delicious food and you can taste the freshness. Definitely it's on our list of favorite restaurants read more

Trendy atmosphere as a remodeled Starbucks. You can sit at the spacious bar or at the small tables. The staff was nice and generally responsive but still finding their legs since it had recently opened. The food was ok and there were generous portions. The pork chop over the broken rice was tasty but not sensational. The best part was the price. Dinner for two under $30. read more

I have eaten here six or seven times. I am not an expert on Vietnamese food but I found their dishes delicious. Healthy is the operative word too as you felt you were eating home cooked food. Delicious and healthy. read more

Soooooo good I would give this place 6 stars if I could! From the great attentive service to the pleasant decor, great selections from the menu and the food, all was exceptional! Papaya salad, shrimp vermicelli and tofu pho was so fresh and tasty we hardly paused to think about anything else. Felt like I was transformed to a Big city with culture abounding! A friend of mine went to Pho99 last night and ordered a lemonade. From the spiciness of the food, she had to order a second lemonade. When the check came she was very shocked. They charged $5.00 PER lemonade that is non-alcoholic what-so-ever. This place is such a rip off. Also they have coupons for 10% entire check, not including alcohol. Do you think the average person will be spending a $100 just to get $10 off? I hate how cheap the feeling of the restaurant is. I don't advise ANYONE going here. For a lack of customer service and over-priced. Especially for a powder boba tea.... I have had better service and food on US 41. This restaurant has great food, although lacks efficient and proper customer service. Also, the bar is not made for people to sit at. The chairs are uncomfortable steel stools and your knees come right up against the wooden bar while your arms barely meet the table. (If that makes any sense). Anyways, while dining my first time at the bar it took awhile for the Asian young-lady to recognize us as customers; a few guests beside us received same treatment and decided to leave. Did she know she where she was? While the second time dining, the restaurant was very slow and I was the only group my waitress had. After we ate and received the check (her shift was probably ending) she decided to leave!!! and not process the payment and tell us to have a good afternoon. Instead, the other coworkers stood behind the bar (talking), completely oblivious to us waving our hands in their direction for a few minutes. Contemporary atmosphere, the owners work the floor nice and friendly. The service was great, the food comes out very quick. I have not eaten there in five times and had a great meal and service every time. The vermicelli noodles with pork and shrimp are great. The only reason I did not give it a five it's because I think it's a little over priced for what you get but the food is very good. Hands down best Pho in Sarasota. P7, extra sliced beef on the side. Doesn't get better than these guys. Seems to be family owned and they are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. Came in by myself and sat at the bar during a fairly busy Saturday dinner service. I was helped fairly quickly and ordered the iced coffee with condensed milk, the shrimp spring rolls and the shrimp bun. Everything was incredible. The service was attentive and nicely paced. I didn't feel rushed or ignored. The food was very fresh and tasty. The owner came by to check that I was satisfied, which was a nice touch. read more

I ate there 3 days ago and have been ill ever since. Got the Chicken pho and found a couple of odd pieces of meat. Excellent Food! The egg rolls were excellent, the spring rolls were excellent and the Phö was fantastic! I've spent the last 16 years in Atlanta, I have been eating authentic Vietnamese food in restaurants and friends' homes the entire time I was up there. This restaurant was just like being back up in Atlanta! Excellent food, super nice staff, the girls are gorgeous, and it was great to see them sit down for lunch and enjoy their own food! Really good authentic pho! My husband and I were there 3x and have only ordered the pho (#6 & #8) it was delicious! Flavorful broth, fresh bean sprouts, Thai basil, lime and sliced jalapeño. Great Pho in Sarasota ,, Who Knew ?!?! I have eaten Pho coast to coast, and this is one of few favorite places. Get the Spring Roll with P-nut sauce, whomever is rolling these in the kitchen has go some skillz. Picture prefect wrap and then the taste, i get that little mint leaf surprise in the middle and I'm in heaven. Great service, great food, and for an affordable price. The beer selection is also amazing. They have the traditional Vietnamese imported beers along with some great local craft brews as well. I suggested the Bun Bo Hue, it's filled with flavors and brimming with meat. The husband got the grilled chicken over rice which was well seasoned and you can taste the charcoal. My family and I stopped by Pho 99 on the way home from the beach because we just noticed it was new since the last time we came to Siesta Key. The pho is super authentic and very much like how my mom makes it. I got the wonton noodle soup and it was very flavorful with lots of wontons and pork. We were surprised by the amount of people waiting for a table on a Tuesday evening but its pretty obvious why because the food is so good! Here on vacation we stopped to see if they had banh mi. They didn't. So we got some spring rolls, pho and papaya salad. Papaya salad came out bland but with sauces to put on it. After pouring the sauces and hot sauce on, and mixing it up, it is very good. Wish they could have mixed it because traditional papaya salad is better after the papaya has been soaking in the sauce for a long time. My husband enjoyed his shrimp pho dish a lot and our son loved the rice. The rice was pricey at 2$ for a side. Overall we had a great experience and would definitely come back! read more

This place is sooooooo good. I was sick and decided some Pho was just what I needed. I walked in with my teen and told the owner I needed something to kick this funk and he said try P1. DAC BIET (SPECIAL BOWL and lots of chili paste. It was delicious! Even my picky teen liked her chicken rice noodle dish. We will be back for sure. I've eaten at a few vietnamese restaurants before and had my fair share of pho. Pho 99 was fantastic! The pho dishes were fragrant, tasty, and delicious. The owner personally came over to our table to talk about what we were having and explain things to us. He was very personable and funny - the entire experience felt genuine and pleasant. Came here on a Thursday evening in January. Nice, minimalist décor and menu that contains all of the favorite Vietnamese dishes (Goi cuon, bun, pho, etc.). We got Goi cuon and bun with shrimp and grilled pork. We get bun in nearly every city we visit, and this ranked among the best. Will definitely return here and recommend to others. read more

This place is winner. Portions are not huge but still plenty. Great execution and very nice and considerate staff. Tried the pho and bun. Solid execution. All drinks are on the pricy side -beers and tea all $4+. But every bit of furniture and service pieces are all brand new, so all very clean. Nice vibe coming out of this former Starbucks location. read more

Great new spot in sarasota! They have completely renovated the place and have given it a very cool atmosphere. The food is presented beautifully and everything has a great taste! The owner (I'm assuming) was very helpful in answering all the questions that we had. I highly recommend the combo plates and the pho. The vermicelli was ok, but in comparison to the other dishes it just doesn't hold up. Definitely try this place! read more

I hesitate to even give two stars. I have had better Vietnamese food, especially here in Sarasota. Papaya salad was shockingly plain - just papaya and peanuts, with a bland dressing on the side. Option of shrimp. Noodle bowl had few flavors and varieties that I love at other Vietnamese restaurants. Worse - they gave us bean sprouts that were rotten, and brown limes. Restaurant is clean, good service. But Pho is chinese style, a lot of MSG. I grew up with Pho and still look for Pho whenever I travel. I used to eat Pho twice a week in Southern California. Here is Florida, hard to find a Viet restaurant except in Orlando. Surprise to see many good reviews here. When I went to Pho 99, I was the only Vietnamese, the restaurant was full. That explains why many good reviews. If you never had the real vietnamese pho, then you can't tell the difference. I guess this Pho 99 is catered to non-Vietnamese taste. If you never had an authentic pho, you would not know what to compare. The prices are higher than other Pho places. read more

This restaurant has a bit of an identity crisis, with the ambiance of a sports bar (2 big TVs and forgettable pop music blaring), and stark surroundings, so lunch is your best bet. But the service was cordial and prompt and the food was excellent. I had forgotten my glasses and couldn't read the menu, so told them to simply bring something good. I got a large bowl of rice noodles with a delicious crispy egg roll, flavorful sliced roasted pork, a mixture of raw and cooked vegetables dotted with peanuts, and herbs like Thai basil, and a clear dipping sauce.
