Went here on a sunday noon-ish time. Had the Hu tieu my tho....i've had wayyyy better. The food was sub-par by "Houston China-town" standards....I'm not a food snob but there are requirements to making the food like it's supposed to be. It didn't have the flavor of Hu Tieu, there was little meat to be had and the veggie dish was wayyyy lacking in content. I should've ordered the Pho but wasnt craving that...but I'm not sure it will live up to my expectations....meh. On the upside...the folks running the joint were VERY NICE. Because of them, I will probably give them a try again...but not anytime soon...and I really hope the pho will be good. read more

My new favorite place for Pho in the Plano area. Best depth of flavor in the broth and large portions of protein at a fair price. Spring rolls are lacking in size/filling for the cost, but the soup is as good as I've found in North Dallas. read more

Tried Pho and Beef Stew. Both are excellent. The soup base for the Pho was rich with flavor. The soup base for the beef stew is a bit beefy and gingery; in a nice way. We also sat by the fans close to the entrance. Very nice way to cool off and during the hot Pho at the same time. Compare to Pho else where, I would recommend this place because of the clean setting, the friendly servers and the rich soup base. We brought our little daughter there and they gave her a special kid setting and made her feel welcome. Little things add up. I would definitely go back. BTW, they only serve Pho in L and XL size. Ordered taro smoothie, small pho combination and grilled chicken rice plate. Taro smoothie is alright, expect to have tasted more milk flavor instead of water. Small pho is indeed really SMALL, for 8 bucks it's not worth it. Grilled chicken is really dry. Service on the other hand is decent. Will not be back thou. read more

This place has the best Vietnamese Sandwiches we've had in the area. We are always trying new places to go eat Viet food and we finally found this place. We've been going to Pho Apple for the past year. Their food and service are consistent. I like how their food tastes great and does not weigh you down like some other places. Yeah far from the best. The portion sizes here are borderline hilarious. The grilled pork on my plate looked like scraps leftover from a previous plate. The pork was dry and bland, as was the skimpy pieces of vegetables that accompanied it. The pho was anywhere between bad and forgettable. The broth was also bland and you had to go fishing in it to find any pieces of meat. At $10 each our overall experience here was hard to swallow, both literally and figuratively. The place was completely empty at noon on a Sunday which is always a bad sign. I hate writing bad reviews on these small mom and pop shops but this place needs a lot of work. This is a great authentic Vietnamese restaurant. My favorite is the curry pho. Wonderful flavor and unique.

Great pho place! Come here all the time for lunch, even in summer. They have a great lunch special for $9.95 that includes two spring rolls, a drink and a regular size bowl of pho. The servings are large and for $1.00 you can get an XL bowl. Haven't had the Banh Mi but hear good things from customer who have. read more

I was really craving a Banh Mi sandwich and this place is very close to my home so I though I would check it out. I had been passing it for years. It's a cute little place. I went in between lunch and dinner so there wasn't any customers there. But the staff greeted me immediately as I walked in. I made my order to-go - a sandwich and tofu spring roll. The food came out in maybe 5-7 minutes. Very fast! I loved the sandwich. It was super spicy. I don't know what I was thinking with the tofu roll...sooo not my taste. The first few times I've been here the service was great and the food was excellent. The past two times let's just say were typical of Asian restaurants. One of those times I put in a to go order for a small combination bowl which is $8.95. When I came to pick it up I was charged $10.95 plus tax. The waitress I could tell was waiting to see if I'd notice but since it was my first to go order with them I decided to let it go. Now the second time I came to dine in and I clearly stated a SMALL combination bowl. Then when the check came we got charged for a large. The lady was clearly talking about us behind the counter and made us feel like freeloaders but I know what I stated because I was expecting this might happen again. My wife and I have a few Pho places we love but we wanted to try this one after reading about it here. After hitting the trails at Arbor Hills on a cold day what couldn't be better? I had a #21 (eye of round and beef ball) and it was very good. Tasty meat and succulent broth (and I love to add the hot stuff)! Only commenting from my first and only experience here. I travel for work throughout the US 3 weeks out of the month so I go out to eat almost every night. The shrimp spring rolls were okay and didn't have much taste to it. The wrap was a bit chewy but the peanut sauce made it a little better. I usually get a cold cut bahn mi but they didn't carry this on the menu so instead I got the grilled pork bahn mi instead. The bread is supposed to have a nice crunch when you bite into it and soft inside but that was not the case. I'm pretty sure the bread was stale as it was very chewy. The filling tasted good but there wasn't much meat in it. The only good thing I liked about this restaurant was the service. The staff is very friendly and quick. read more

We have not had one dish at Pho Apple that we didn't love! The pho is awesome, as is the grilled pork sandwich (bahn mi). Our current fave is the chicken fried rice and an order of spicy chicken wings. YUM. The fried rice is not greasy and simple yet amazing. I also like the grilled pork and the noodle stir fry. Had dinner with my boyfriend here. The food came out quickly! We both got the combination pho. The broth was not the most flavorful however it was good. I don't think they cook with MSG or use little of it so that was nice. The flank meat was okay, but the meat balls were really good. The noodles and basil were also very good.
