Receipt- note $.50 per container for to go items

I often find myself at this location simply out of convenience, and I don't even need a menu because I've memorized my usual order from frequenting their other two spots. That said, every time I eat here, I end up wondering why I didn't just take the extra time to go to one of the other locations. Although the ingredients seem the same, the flavors just don't measure up--and I'm not sure why. It might be the way the meat is marinated (or not), or perhaps the portions are slightly smaller here. I usually go for the pho or bún, but it always leaves me underwhelmed. On a positive note, the service is friendly. The staff even noticed I was short on fish sauce and brought more without me having to ask, which I appreciated. I'll probably end up back here again, but next time I'll try a dish I haven't had at the other locations, just to give this spot a fresh chance without the comparison.

    Kung pao chicken

I ordered the kung pao chicken and I was very disappointed. Barely any veggies other than onion. One tiny piece of broccoli. No zucchini or water chestnuts like how they used to make it. Maybe it's new owners, I don't know, but I won't be ordering this again. There is no flavor, very bland and the sauce is so thick and gooey and the chicken is grainy... GROSS! It's not the same kung pao chicken I used to get, I can't even eat it. And definitely not worth the $20 price tag!

Eh why not I'll give five stars. Sure this place isn't decorated but they seem to have lasted this long solely based on takeout. Their prices are still cheap for this day and age. Small bowl of pho was definitely not small, and the premium with all the kinds of meat was only sixteen bucks. Didn't finish. Tastes good for pho but I dunno how to screw up pho other than making horrible tasting broth and adding just a few cubes of meat. Service is normal, expect a wait using their outdated ATM but it's family run so they're not making bank here.

Overpriced charging us for 3 Large Pho that came out with small bowl. I wonder how small the Small Pho would be like.

Waited 30 minutes for our Pho. We ordered 3 large Pho and the bowl came out looking like a small bowl. We were charged $16.50 each. We asked the waiter if these were small. He said it's their large. Also, DO NOT order their pepper spareribs there its over price ($22.99) and does not taste anything like the pepper spareribs. Worst Pho I have ever had in the Sacramento area. Don't waste money at this place.

The food was delivered hot and fast. The lumpia are tasty and pho was good. The meat is sliced thin so it's easy to eat. Everything was delicious. And the young lady was super sweet and helpful.

    Kings Game

This place definitely deserves more than 3.5 stars. I came with my wife and 1 year old and we were treated like royalty. Plus, they brought out a kid friendly bowl set up for him. All kinds of delicious food. Wife had the beef stew for mild cold and I always chicken pho. Even ask for kings game and they put it on the tv. No pics of food but leaving with an empty bowl on the table.

Years later, I find this Hoa Viet as part of one of my regular rotations. The food at Hoa Viet is consistently great and the customer service is always fantastic. During the pandemic, they've also setup three tables for outdoor seating, which is awesome since my boyfriend and I are able to bring our dogs with us now. My favorites: - Lumpia - Beef Chow Fun - Charbroiled Pork Over Vermicelli - Pho Combination Special - Wonton Egg Noodle - Avocado Shake Definitely go to this location for your Vietnamese food cravings!

I appreciate the decor when you walk in - it's like half modern along with paints as if you're from Vietnam. Server recommended us the beef rib over rice which was marinated with lemon grass and meat was tender. Usually it's pork chop or chicken but beef rib elevated the rice plate. Special spring roll combo - sooo healthy. Make your own spring rolls. It comes with nem nuong (sausage pork), vermicelli noodles, crispy rice paper, lots of veg). Dipped in their sauce, it was definitely my fav. It's interesting that their sauce consistency is thick. Banh xeo - I wish it came a little crispier. Lots of bean sprouts under which made it a bit soggy if not eaten right away Pho combo - flavorful broth, good portion of meat, noodles was in perfect condition. I recommend* Drinks - wasn't entirely impressed by them. They were VERY strong.

It was our first time assembling our own spring rolls at the table, which made for a fun and memorable dining experience. The beef rib pho was packed with flavor, generously portioned, and easily left us with enough leftovers for another meal. I also tried Nem Chua (fermented pork) for the first time and absolutely loved it. Everything tasted fresh, simple, and homemade--the kind of food that feels like it was made with care. The hospitality was warm and welcoming, and I appreciated that they're open earlier in the morning, making it a convenient option compared to many other Vietnamese restaurants. Great food, great service, and a great experience overall. We'll definitely be back!

We ordered the #1 Cha Gio (fried egg rolls), #11 Banh Cuon Tay Ho Dac Biet (combination flour sheet/roll), and #54 Banh Xeo Can't go wrong with the cha gio. We mixed our fish sauce with the chili sauce and this was so good. I wish it came with a little bit more veggies as I like to lettuce wrap my cha gio. Banh Cuon combo plate was also very good but the banh cuon was absolutely the best part - next time I would just order a plate of only the rice rolls! Banh Xeo took a bit longer to come out but it was very large and seemed like a popular menu item as we saw other tables order this. This is a savory Vietnamese pancake/crepe packed with veggies and shrimp and pork. Veggies and herbs were plentiful here - a bit messy to eat but so good! Service was okay - our orders were taken in a timely manner and food came out promptly. Only thing is that we were never checked up on and we had to walk up to the counter to settle the bill. I'll definitely be back for the banh cuon!

I automatically think about Duc Huong when I think about banh mi. Their grilled pork never lets me down. It comes in a huge serving size with carrots, onions, parsley, and jalapenos (optional). Bonus points for the customizable garlic butter spread that can be added to the bread. Out of all this shop's positive traits -- portion size, taste, authenticity -- the most head-turning of them all lies in their menu prices. $6+tax for a large sandwich ($3.25 for small) is unheard of, particularly in California. Even with Doordash's greedy middleman antics, the all-inclusive total with the DashPass comes out to slightly more than $10 per sandwich. I doubt that there's any contention about Duc Huong serving the best banh mis in Sacramento. With its consistent taste and absurdly cheap prices, I'm hard pressed to try another establishment.

On Sunday (6/21), I ordered four sandwiches and ate half of one right away. I actually remember thinking to myself, "This is really good." I saved another sandwich for Monday, and as I was getting toward the end of it, it started falling apart on my plate. That's when I noticed a piece of hair inside. Needless to say, I was completely disgusted. Finding hair in food is one of those things that's hard to get past, especially when you're almost finished eating and realize you've already consumed most of it. It's incredibly disappointing because I had just started to become a regular customer and was genuinely enjoying their sandwiches. Unfortunately, this experience has completely turned me off, and I don't think I'll be coming back.
