WOW! Delicious pho bowls and flavorful sandwiches. Kind and speedy service. Enjoyed the tea and coffee as well.

I think today is going to be my last visit here. I walked in and there was a long line (as usual) and nobody greeted me so a group of guys came in behind me and just sat down at a table after I had been waiting about 10 minutes. I asked if I was supposed to just sit and they said yes and then I did and they told me the table was reserved. I did get in a table at the back. The floor and bathrooms were absolutely filthy. I ordered the chicken pho and it had no flavor and was literally 75% noodles. The summer rolls were really good but the pho was terrible. Much better pho place up the road.

    Delicious vegan pho!

5 stars for the vegan pho! I ordered the medium bowl for lunch, and it was huge. The broth is beautifully clear, yet still somehow has that amazing depth of flavor. Lots of beautiful carrots and broccoli and tofu, and a heap of noodles below. Super fresh basil, lime, jalapeño, and bean sprouts on the side to add in. Soupy perfection. I will be coming back regularly for this!

We eat here every weekend. It's one of my favorite places. The pho is amazing and the staff are really friendly. It's a small place but we usually don't have an issue getting a table. The rare beef pho is my go to. The egg sandwich is also amazing.

I haven't had pho in years and was excited a friend suggested this place. I'm surprised I've never been here since it's close to my work. The restaurant is small, low lit and super casual but it was packed on a Monday for lunch. We had a short wait for a table. But the moment one opened up it was cleaned and we were seated. Our waiter was friendly and we both got the rare beef pho. It came out fast and hot. It tasted like the pho I remembered and it was a lot for a small. I wish there was a bit more beef but I was full. I'd definitely come back here to try other items and get pho again!

I love, love, love Vietnamese foods. Friends of ours took us to Pho Basil and I can say it's one of my favorite places. It's not a fancy place but a hole-in-the-wall type atmosphere. Service is slow, as we arrived and grabbed one of the last two available tables. We didn't mind waiting since we could see they were busy. Once our order was taken, the food came out soon afterwards. The tables are small so we had to have our waiter remove some of the extra items to give us more room to eat. I love Pho but I decided to try another favorite, Lemongrass pork with vermicelli noodles and vegetables. DH got the lemongrass pork with rice, topped off with a fried egg. His came with a cup of pho broth as a side. We also ordered the spring rolls. These were the ones that are served cold, rather than deep fried. The shrimp were sliced thin, so I really didn't taste them. Our friends ordered two types of Pho, one with chicken, the other with beef. My dish was so flavorful and filling. The pork was cut into small pieces; DH's was not cut all the way, making it a little difficult to eat. I guess he could have asked for a knife. I tasted the pho soup and said to myself I should have ordered the Pho! But I was very happy with my dish. Everyone else was quite satisfied. Prices are very reasonable. We'll be back!

I loved the spicy beef pho. Service was timely, and the ambiance was homely. Very good Vietnamese food place in the Wilmington area.

Not as good as Indochine, however, no waiting. Plenty of food and lots of extra noodles, sauces and veggies.

Kudos to Michaela and you're lucky to have her on your team!

My wife ordered the Vietnamese Lemongrass Chili Chicken, but unfortunately it was extremely salty, even by my standards, and I tend to enjoy saltier foods. We also ordered two cocktails that came out much sweeter than expected. It left us wondering whether some additional tasting and quality control in both the kitchen and bar could help improve consistency. That said, our server, John, was excellent throughout the evening. He was attentive, professional, and genuinely cared about our experience. When we mentioned the issue with my wife's meal, managers Jack and David both checked on us personally and worked hard to make things right. Their involvement and concern did not go unnoticed and reflected a commitment to customer service. We've visited Cafe Chinois over the years and have noticed changes since the passing of the previous owner and the family's transition into running the restaurant. The menu has evolved, and the overall atmosphere feels a little different than it once did. During our visit, there was some trash on the floor that remained for a while, suggesting that attention to detail may not be quite where it used to be. Even so, the excellent service from John, Jack, and David, along with the quality of my entrée, showed that the restaurant still has a strong foundation. With a little more consistency in the kitchen and bar, Cafe Chinois can continue to be one of Wilmington's favorite dining spots.

I was given a cup of iced water while waiting for take out which was appreciated. I was shown the newest menu they have which I've attached photos of; I purchased the bone marrow pho, a beef banh mi, a pork banh mi, and 2 vietnamese iced coffees. I'm not the biggest fan of pho, but I had to for this bone marrow dish! This is so hard to find I knew I couldn't pass it up. It was absolutely delicious and they had a great variety of meat that was all tender. I love the soft tendon it's my personal favorite! The banh mis are just as good and are THE perfect baguette texture, not too crispy and not too fluffy. Now with their coffee, I personally prefer an authentic phin drip cà phê sữa đá for the rich flavoring, as I believe this is just bottled lees coffee. It's still good, but could be better. It's amazing how much variety they have that can be difficult to find, like BÒ NÉ, as it reminds me of home in Vietnam. Overall, a great experience and I am 100% coming back to try more!

For our appetizer, we had the egg rolls. The roll skins were not as crispy as we like (a little on the soft side), but the filling was so delicious!! We were very pleased with the friendly service, as well as our lunch. The place is pretty casual. We will have to go back to try other items on the menu.
