First time here but my wife went during opening week and had a less than satisfactory experience. I'm happy to say that they seem to have worked out the kinks. The service was courteous and efficient and the food was delicious. I had pho with meatballs and the pork bon mi. The broth had a rich and complex flavor. The meatballs were very tasty and the veggies were fresh and crisp. The bon mi was very good with nice balance of flavor between pork and veggies, the baguette however was just a bit overdone but the sandwich was still very good. Banh mi is very bad.The seatings are decent.The vermicilli with grill pork is good,have to ask for bean sprout.The room is cold.Beef pho is good,need to ask for less noodles so you can put bean sprout in the bowl.Also ask to have cut up scallions for your pho.Do not go to Pho Cafe,very small place,cramp,and the food is not good whatsoever. read more

Getting over colds, I brought my parents, niece and sister here to sip on some steaming hot pho in the hopes of clearing our heads and knocking out any congestion once and for all! My Dad is 82 and Mom's 76, they'd never tried pho but were open minded and trusting of my recommendation! We ordered just about one of everything LOL. Service was very "laid back" but the food was AMAZING! The Bahn Mi was spectacular, pho was yummy, the pancakes were delicious! Pork belly spring rolls, so good! We highly recommend Pho Basil! My search is over -- best pho in Wilmington. The quality of the food is very good, and the wait staff is attentive. I had the spring rolls and chicken pho. The chicken was moist and the broth had great flavor. I was not super thrilled with the Thai iced tea I had -- the boba froze up so it was not easy to drink but I can live with that. Today is my 3rd time getting food here... The service is OK. Not the best, but they not that bad either. There aren't a lot of people dining in during the time I went (3 oclockISH) today. Today I called in an order of the combination sandwich. The sandwich overall was good; however, the sandwich itself was a little too short for a 'regular' banh mi sandwich. Also I did notice the sandwich isn't the original banh mi that I've eaten before at other places. Besides the sandwiches, I had their beef Pho combination. The Pho broth is pretty awesome. Not too sweet and it was still hot when it was served. I actually was on lunch break at the time and my husband ordered it.. They brought it out for 10-15 minutes and it was still hot. I also had their bubble tea... the taro flavored one. The bubble tea was pretty good in my opinion. =) But to others, it may be a little too sweet. My husband had a mango flavored one and it didn't taste as good as the taro. I liked the fact that they used a good size cup. I don't mind paying more for my good drink, but it needs to be up to par with size of the drink and taste. Last but not least, I tried their vermicelli noodle dish with grilled pork. I can say that it was pretty good. The pork wasn't dry and the amount of noodles was perfect. The only thing I didn't appreciate was that I didn't get two whole eggrolls. It was only 1 1/2 eggrolls which was cut up to 3 pieces. I wasn't too big on that, but if you're going to give me cut up eggrolls, atleast give me the whole 2 eggrolls and not just 1 1/2.....Again, no biggie. Just stating that. =)) So.... those are the dishes I've tried so far and liked them all. I totally recommend this place to anyone despite some of the bad reviews. And I'm going to definitely come back more often. I will also update review if anything changes ;P.. read more

Not many places in town serve pho, but Pho Basil is definitely the best option in town. Good prices & good variety of dishes. The staff always promptly greets us when we enter, although I feel like they don't check up on you much actually throughout the meal. This place is actually darn good! They have great pho their appetizers are on point and they have Thai iced tea. I'm definitely going to go back and try the bahn mi and some other items. I order food couple times at this restaurant. Mostly I order pho. The taste is ok, not better then pho cafe. The bubble tea only taste powder and condens milk very blend. I order couple times milk tea and matcha but same thing. Very blend. Over price for the food (compare with pho cafe and indochine). They charge 25cent extra per styrofoam container if you order Togo. Even indochine give microwave save container with no extra charge. Last time I order pork chop special it's $12.99. It's said come with pork chop, egg roll, shredded pork, egg cake, meatloaf, tomato, cucumber and rice. (Base on the Togo menu). But when I check at home I just get pork chop, fried egg, shredded pork, rice, tomato, cucumber. For $13 that's wow.. I call back to confirm if I get the right one. And they said that's right, but he said the menu change, either get egg roll or fried egg. The menu said I get both plus meatloaf. But they said no more meatloaf, and the egg I have to chose egg roll or fried egg. Which is they didn't ask me when I put order. They assume I want fried egg because they give me fried egg. They not even say sorry for all this. And just feel meeeehh... This is the last time I order from them. I don't know how to upload photo, I have the picture to upload. read more

I have been hearing great things about this place so I was excited when I showed up at 11:50, right before lunch. As with anything in Wilmington, I expected a wait and after ordering my Chicken Pho and Shrimp rolls with a bubble tea, I was told it could be a "15-20" minute wait. Np. On a lunch break that's 20-25 minutes to enjoy my food, right? Well... fast forward 55 minutes and after asking for a refund so I could run and accept that I would go hungry that afternoon. First world problems. I then found out that my order was ready at the same time as the girl who ordered after me (And she ordered 3x the amount I did) I grabbed my order and hauled tail back to work where I of course, had no time to eat the Pho but I am currently munching on the shrimp. Which is.. about on par for a normal Asian fast food joint. The sauce is tasty and the shrimp is slightly overcooked but it's not bad. But not an hour long wait good... Oh, and there were no eating utensils included so I guess I have dinner? Service was good and I understand they were busy but an hour wait is not good for anyone. If you are looking for something on a lunch break, steer clear. If you have plenty of time and want your average quality food, this may be a decent choice. read more

This place was great and a much needed and welcomed breath of fresh "culinary" air. Tried a variety of menu items - all good. Great variety of authentic Vietnamese beverages as well. Was excited having a Vietnamese restaurant in Wilmington. But very disappointed with the service received today. The avocado shake came later than the food after having to repeat the order to the staff in the kitchen. Had to ask for the pearls which I emphasized three times to the waitress who took our order. My Pho came but my husband's pork chop rice did not, rather came with another type of Pho. Couple of patrons came, sat down, then left without ordering anything for the waiting time was too long. Kudos to the three patrons sitting behind us. They were so patient and gracious while the waitress could not figure out their orders, their bills etc....It is one thing when you try to learn/figure things out with a humble attitude, but this waitress seems to be indifferent to the whole negative situation she caused. When it was our turn to finally get the check, the waitress came and asked what we ordered. Seriously?!!!! Need major front-of-house improvement. Hope the restaurant owner takes this review into account and makes some much needed service improvements. read more

We loved going here to begin with, coming from a major city and having spent time in Vietnam, the first restaurants my family looks for are good Pho restaurants. Alas since going here for past few months, even at the beginning the portions seemed small for the price, and coming from Seattle, and used to expensive, its no small thing to think that THIS is the most ive payed for the smallest amount received. The straw that broke it for me was when I ordered the medium pho tai and got a total of 5 pieces of small meat in it. All i could think was how the portions keep getting smaller and smaller, and I remembered first coming here thinking this was small portions for the price compared to what im used to. So I will be finding a new spot, which is too bad, i enjoyed this place, and the friendly people made up for the beginning, now someone is getting greedy and trying to cut corners to make more money...sad read more
