This place is a little hidden. I have driven past this place many times and have never noticed it until I looked up Vietnamese restaurant on yelp! Saw it had some decent reviews so I gave it a try with my family. We got there and it was at the corner of the plaza. The inside was clean and did not look like anything outside. We were immediately seated, and the lady was very nice. We started off with their wings (3 garlic soy sauce and 3 salt and pepper drums/wings) and their pork spring rolls. The appetizer came out fresh. I personally would probably do without the wings next time. It was fresh and not bad but there were too much breading on it. The fresh spring rolls were good along with their sauce. We ordered their chicken pho, bun bo hue, fried rice, and their vermicelli noodle bowl with grill pork. Their food came out super fresh and delicious. The fried rice was exactly how I like it. I love how it has the crispy burnt of rice to add to the texture. Their chicken pho was fresh and refreshing. The broth was clear and delicious. The bun bo hue was actually one of the best in the area. It was rich in flavor and absolutely delicious. This little hidden spot makes their food delicious, and I highly recommend people to try this place.

I've been seeing videos of the Bun Rieu on my social media so I was excited to finally try it. Unfortunately, it's was only ok. It was a little on the sour side and the broth lacked flavor. The noodles were cooked perfectly though. We also ordered salt and pepper chicken wings, but it was dry. The service was a bit slow, but they did apologize and explained it was because they got the orders in all at once.

My parents love Vietnamese duck noodle soup, along with pork intestines and blood sausages. After doing some research on Yelp, I found this place. We arrived around 2pm on a Friday and there was only one other customer. Initially, my parents tried to order in Vietnamese but it seems like this place is a Chinese owned restaurant and they don't speak Vietnamese. Therefore, we communicated with them in Cantonese. We ordered 3 duck noodle soups, pork blood sausage & liver heart, and charbroiled pork over rice. As for flavor, the duck noodle soup was just okay. The soup was lightly seasoned and the duck was super chewy and dry. My daughter's rice dish had thinly sliced pork that was so dry that it tasted like jerky. No comment on the pork blood sausage & liver heart appetizer. Since I'm not into organs, I didn't try it. My dad had to use the restroom and was told that the restroom was outside the restaurant. When my dad came back, he said it looked like a communal restroom for the whole building and it was super dirty. Parking is plentiful. Customer service is great but the food is definitely lacking.

Bun rieu, size small $11 (looks delish but too sweet)

A quiet Friday lunch. Bun rieu was too sweet, 2 stars Bun bo hue was good but had minimal protein, 4 stars Garnish plate had lettuce instead of cabbage - odd choice for hot noodle soups. Service was friendly and ambiance was alright (tv playing VN street food videos and viet music). Might return if I was in the area but I wouldn't make another special trip. They have been open since 1991!

I watched the Anthony Bourdain Vietnam episode where he ate with president Obama and I had to eat what they had. So I came here and ordered the Bun Cha Dong Xuan, pork meatballs with vermicelli noodles. It was excellent, very simple and down to earth. The service was good, they did not bring the check so I just went up to the register and paid. The ambience was typical Viet/Pho restaurant.

A hidden gem out in the open! Loyal people have been coming here for 30 years I hear and although I'm late to the game, I'll def be eating here for the next 30 years. I've ordered the Bun cha Hanoi style several times! Its a warm noodle dish deconstructed with powerful savory and tangy notes served with a healthy serving of herbs and veggies. This dish originated from the capital of Vietnam which is Hanoi. For this dish. every ingredient is served separated and you can essentially put together your soup anyway and any style you want to. 2nd dish on mind but tied for number 1 in my heart is the Bun Rieu. Its served super piping hot and I mean steam clouds burn your lips hot and its the chefs kiss perfect remedy for a cold stormy winter weekend. Its savory flavored from a pork base, some definite tangyness from the tomatoes and a hit of crab which somehow all mixes together to completely confuse the mind outta me but convincingly makes sense in the mouth. Taste buds got smacked with some unexpected complexity for sure. I want moaar. They've also amped up their decor with a recent remodel and their menu has been updated too. I haven't tried everything ...yet. But i will def be back for more. Two Yumz up. =d

Pretty good bun rieu! It's a little more on the tomato-ey and sweet side but still yummy. Portion is very generous. Friendly service. My daughter loved their fried chicken!

I felt bad that I came here 30 minutes before closing but I needed to try their $11 bun rieu while I was still in town. I have to say it's the best I've tried in Sac and I've been to different places in the area. The $11 small bowl of bun rieu filled me up. I also appreciated that the service was great despite that I came in close to closing. I highly recommend this spot specifically for their bun rieu.

Great service! Food came out in a timely manner. The food tasted like each dish was made with care. The flavor of the grilled pork was the highlight of the visit + texture of pho noodles is perfectly glutinous! Underrated Vietnamese restaurant in Sac's Little Saigon.

I ordered beef chow fun dry no vegetables. This lady brings out gravy seafood chow fun. Took it back and still made it gravy beef chow fun!! The amount of gravy or whatever that was I had to pour it out...At this point I'm not making my son wait any longer. I told the lady for future reference the chow fun needs to be fixed because it was so bland. My son barely touched it. And she had the nerve to say why didn't you tell me you wanted it dry! I told the lady at the beginning of my order. She was arguing with me about how I didn't say I wanted it dry....thats crazy work.

After a year of renovations, Pho Bolsa is finally back! Pho Bolsa is an iconic Pho restaurant that has been in sac since 1991. The remodel of the restaurant itself is amazing and they updated their menu as well. Some items were taken away and some new items were added. I got the chicken pho ga and it was so good. The meat was tender and their portions and pricing can't be beat. You can pick your noodle and meat type (dark, white, mix) as well. Great customer service, ambiance, and food. I'm glad they're finally opened again and will continue to keep coming back.

I had the cold brew with their sweet cream on the top. The cold brew was strong and the cream had a premium stiffness to it that standard coffee places don't do. It was not very sweet and for those who enjoy their coffee with less sugar, this is great. I found the coffee enjoyable throughout my time with it as I sat in the cafe hanging out with my friend. AKA a drag queen walking around and serving a guava Spritz to individuals that were of age to drink and a little bit of trinket making if you wanted to do that. I will call out that if you have a large party it is difficult to find places to sit because there are not a lot of tables underneath the covered area. There's also two tables outside the fence but one of them does not have an umbrella so just being mindful of if it's a sunny day you're going to get hot. So I will be honest I came in a little skeptical about how the food was going to taste because a friend of mine had stated they had come to forgotten bakery about a year ago and he said that he was not very impressed with the food and drink options. I am happy to report that when we went everything was delicious with a capital D. The empanadas that we got: beef chilean, guava; were absolutely phenomenal. The crust of the empanada was perfectly golden brown, and the texture was firm enough where when you opened up the empanada that held its shape well and the feeling inside to not fall easily. Of all of them I would say my top pick in the topic of my husband was the Chilean empanada. We are a suckers for the combination of sweet and savory together and then having that buttery crust is brought everything together. Also the oat milk latte was yummy creaminess is the easiest way to describe it. It went down a little too easily which almost made me get another one but I am sensitive to caffeine and I told myself I'll just have to come back later and get another drink from them. Lastly it is definitely off the beaten path, but so worth the trip to check out this fabulous little place.
