First off ordered food then went to restroom coming out of the single person restroom on the men's side was a worker dressed in black putting his apron on while coming out didn't hear water sink or the hand blower no paper towels sink was dry so they didn't wash hands !!!!! This is the affordable and healthy choice if you are staying at Holiday Inn. Next-door. Same parking lot. I caught them just before closing, but no problem. 10 minutes before closing they took my order and made my food to go. Hot. They make the broth very hot, which is great for cooking everything. I got the combo. If I was staying here another day, I would probably get the seafood combo next. They have the usual extensive menu of deep fried items or spring rolls. Haven't been here in a long time so decided to give it a try and the experience was just ok. Don't think I'll be returning any time soon. This one is not the same as the other Vietnam Cafe nor are they related. The spring rolls were good and fresh and I ordered the Vietnamese Curry with beef but it was not authentic. It tastes more like Indian Curry than Vietnamese Curry. They also gave me a bowl of rice that was only half filled and was no where near enough rice for the amount of curry. I ended up ordering extra rice and they brought it out to me without telling me it cost extra. This time however the bowl was overflowing with rice but I didn't really need that much anymore. The bright side is the food here is priced much cheaper than many other Vietnamese restaurants but you'll find much better quality at other spots even if the meals are a few bucks higher. read more

This place is not affiliated with the one in Columbus Park. I really haven't been to their new location before and since we were in the area, decided to stop by. I do not recommend this place by the way. We totally get why no one talks about it either. Staff was not attentive, food was mediocre, like the Spicy Beef Soup has too much shrimp paste, so salty. Spicy curry beef with rice was not authentic. Taste like it was frozen and heated up. It's a nice renovated place but the quality, has went down. read more

My Pho was very good and surprisingly reasonably priced. This was my second take out order from this restaurant. Both meals were excellent. It was easy to get in and out with plenty of parking. I definitely will be going back for more delicious meals. read more

I came here after an appointment I had in the area. I came during lunch and it was quiet with several guests dining in. We grabbed a seat and were attended to quickly. I ordered a pho and I was hoping they had banh MI but they did not. The food came out with a decent portion size. I wish they had given us extra toppings. Overall the food was very good and hit the spot. The price was also very reasonable which makes me think I will be a frequent visitor. The staff was friendly and you can tell it is family owned. Ever since I road past the old location no longer standing, I've been on the hunt for this place for some time now. I had no clue they moved it until a few weeks ago I was in mild traffic and saw it's in the new KU building downstairs. I was in the area the other day and decided to come have lunch here. This is where I first had pho and I would literally eat here just about every day. I must say I was surprisingly let down, the pho use to be a 10/10. The brisket use to be seasoned very well and tender as well as the broth. This time not so much, I'm a firm believer in second chances so next time I'm in the area I'll give it another go round. The service was meh, the server only came to bring water, my food and to drop off my ticket off. I was never asked if I needed anything or was the food ok. Better luck next time. read more

I had been to this restaurant when they were one block north of here for many years. This was my first time at the new smaller and more modern space on Rainbow. My wife and I shared an order of 3 spring rolls for $6 and I was not impressed. The casing was very tough and chewy as if they had been sitting out all day and the peanut sauce for dipping was very bland. That would be a hard pass for future visits. My entrée was redeeming with my Bun salad bowl - Vietnamese Cafe style. A large bowl of vermicelli noodles with 6 different fresh vegetables, crushed peanuts, pork, shrimp and a diced fried egg roll on top. A generous serving of a spicy fish sauce to pour over and then I added sriracha and hoisin sauce to create "Ralphie's Secret Saigon Sauce" for the perfect kick. For $12 it's the perfect dish; and I can't imagine ordering anything else upon my imminent return. Five stars for the Bun Bowl, 2 stars for the disappointing spring roll and 3 stars for the generic decor and metal chairs. read more

I hate that I only go here when it's cold or rainy, but I'm usually craving pho pretty hard in those weather conditions so the visits stay frequent. Vietnam Cafe is my favorite place to get pho. I usually opt for pho with beef. I wish I could say I've tried more items in the menu, but it's pretty much all pho when I visit. There's always a table available and the service is always pretty fast. You can't count on a quick lunch if that's what you're looking for. read more

Vietnam Cafe was a great, fun restaurant to try! It's pretty busy- which is a good sign! We got the egg rolls and I got P1 Pho. The egg rolls were delicious, flaky, and cut in half (which I appreciated as I was there with 2 other girlfriends and made it easier to share). They had plenty of seasoning/spice options on the table to make your food as hot/spicy as you want. I did add quite a bit of Sriracha sauce to my pho. If you're looking for authentic Vietnamese food, this is not the place. The egg rolls were good but that's about it. Ordered seafood hu tieu with egg noodles, noodles were soggy and overcooked. As for protein, there were 3 pieces of imitation crab and 2 small shrimps. The broth tasted like chicken bouillon and sugar. The bun that cam was just as bad as the hi tieu, noodles and veggies were soggy, pork and shrimp had no flavor whatsoever, they were boiled vs grill. Will not be a returning customer. read more

I ordered the to go combination pho and was a bit disappointed. There was barely any meat and the meat that came with it was already cooked? Usually when you order to go, the meat is not cooked and it is cooked in the hot broth that is given. The meat was a huge dissatisfaction. We were seated immediately and the friendly waiter brought over drinks and menus. This restaurant provided a welcoming escape from the frigid winter temperatures. I ordered the spicy chicken curry. I wasn't blown away, but it was solid. I expected more food and a bit more flavor, but it came very quickly and certainly hit the spot. The rest of the table ordered pho to warm themselves up and it was well enjoyed. I usually stick to the basics - fried rice, curry and crab rangoon. I should probably branch out a bit, but I like what I like. I also like how quickly and how well these dishes are prepared and served. It usually takes about fifteen minutes from calling and placing my order to arriving and picking it up.
