I'm a huge fan of both Pho Duong locations (same family). The food is always fresh and flavors are always spot on. The prices too cannot be beat. I came in before work Tuesday afternoon for a light and quick dinner. Now some would say that eating Pho in hot weather will actually cool you down, but I literally had less than 30 minutes and I knew I'd need more time than that to slurp down a hot bowl. I want time to savor it! I wanted to order a cooling and light Vietnamese salad (there's several I love), but they don't have salads. No biggie, I ordered two sets of rolls: crispy spring rolls (pork and shrimp served with fish sauce) and their summer rolls (shrimp, rice vermicelli, lettuce served with peanut sauce). I always get nervous venturing outside of Eden Center for Vietnamese food but didn't feel like driving to Falls Church one weekend. What a great find! Pho Duong was just as good and their portions were noticeably bigger. It was one of the only places where they have refilled my water without me asking. This is definitely an impressive pho restaurant! The broth is full of flavor and has a generous amount of meats and noodles. If you get the special combination, it even comes with meatballs, unlike many pho restaurants. The bean sprouts, mint, and lime come out fresh and are​ plentiful. When you order a large bowl, you are getting an impressively​ sized meal, so come hungry! I also tried the summer rolls. They are wrapped perfectly with just the right amount of noodles, lettuce, and shrimp (if you like it with shrimp); all of which taste fresh. Additionally, the wrap is excellent in texture (not too hard and not too soft). I love strong and tasty java, so I am a sucker for Vietnamese​ iced coffee. The one at Pho Duong is perfect and served the traditional way with a small metal drip filter. When it comes to service, they are quick to order and respectful to customers. I was walking by this place with child in tow - he was hungry from an exhausting day at Chuck E Cheese's so.. why not get some Pho? I was happy to see the place had lots of seating (a typical no-nonsense Vietnamese Pho place), a couple TVs with cartoons (distraction so I can eat, too), and was relatively clean. They had lunch specials which were popular because it came with soda and a spring/summer roll. The rolls were not PACKED with noodles - which makes me feel like it had a better balance of flavors. I didn't taste mint, but it was just fine. We had chicken Pho... I was happy to see spice debris (and taste it, too). Seated and given menus and within the next 15 seconds a man, who I assume is the owner, came by to scowl and take our drinks. Very rudely told us "machine and everything broken" so they only had a few Drink options. Didn't give us a chance to look at the menu for food because he just stayed at the table looking at us like we were crazy...eventually gave us a couple minutes after getting annoyed that we weren't moving fast enough for him. Price (good) - The price is normal for a bowl of pho in Northern Virginia. Food (good) - The bowl of pho that I had was exactly what pho should taste like so there really isn't anything to worry about if you came here for the pho. I got the lunch special so it came with a 12oz soda and a single roll (summer/spring). The summer roll was the same as any other summer roll. I had a taste of the vermicelli noodle dish and that was definitely not up to par with your average Vietnamese restaurant but who really comes here for anything other than the pho? i LOVE this restaurant. i am a regular that most of the staff in there knows, and that's what makes this specific event really maddening to me. there is a newer lady that does the front sometimes, she is rude and oblivious. i watched her take orders and deliver them to those people multiple times all within the time i was waiting for my order that i place loooong before. she didn't apologize once for overlooking me. she also hung up on me the first 2 times i called to place the order, on the third call she actually listened, barely. i have never had a bad experience like this, but it had happened a few times with her that she just seems very inconsiderate. i do not want this to stray me from this place, again, i love it here. but this experience was really quite horrible, i hope this can be fixed in the future. read more

Hands down the best pho place in the DMV area (including pho 75) I've tried a few other items in their menu and they're also pretty solid. Only reason why they don't get five stars is because this is the second time that I've made an order to go that the same women commented in Vietnamese that I didn't tip. I can understand if I was waited on or made a big order so a lot more work was out into my to go order but it left me a really bad taste in my mouth. And the fact that she said in Vietnamese because she assumed I wouldn't understand. I'd honestly rather have her tell me why I should tip because as someone who was a hostess before we did not expect people to tip on to go orders. I'm surprised I haven't written a review for Pho Duong because I honestly come here quite frequently. (Maybe once a month?). Whenever the fiancé or I crave pho this is our go to place. He loves the pho dac biet and I am a huge huge fan of the bun bo hue. We usually get it to go since we love eating at home but have dined in before too. Both experiences are great! If you order it to go, they usually have your meal ready in 15 minutes and all you have to do is bring home the goods, boil up the brother, microwave the noodles and meat and you have a fantastic meal. read more

I have to admit I came here a bit grudgingly, but Pho Duong won me over. Yes, the prices are a bit higher than in Seven Corners, but I think the extra cost is worth it for the higher quality, nicer atmosphere (new furniture and lighting), and the more convenient location. I believe a large bowl of pho is $8.50. If you want a vegetarian bowl of pho, it's still cooked in the beef broth, but you get A LOT of noodles, and it's only $6.50. Definitely not the $2 bowl of pho I had at sitdown restaurants in Vietnam, but the prices are fair for the U.S. Our friends eat out a lot (i.e., they've cooked at home 3x in the last 3 months), and they were very impressed with the quality of the broth at Pho Duong. Once you let the soup settle for a few minutes, you'll see that the broth is actually quite clear (not like the cloudy broths you see at other pho restaurants). read more

Com tam for me was pretty mediocre, it was good but I've had better ones at Eden. The clam clay pot, now that's a different story. I searched locally for restaurants that even served clam clay pots, sadly there are not many options. I came across one restaurant in Eden called, "Rice Paper", it was sub par, but that's another review for another day. I gave up looking for that dish a longggg time ago, but to my surprise I came across it on Pho Duong's menu. I can say it's second best to my mom's version of the dish. Wasn't oily, perfect flavoring, rice wasn't too burnt at the bottom, and they hooked a sista up with them clams! The next time I came back and got that clam clay pot and it was still perfect! I'm glad I decided to try this place- it's a great alternative to going to Eden for some authentic Vietnamese food! The dining area is very clean and large enough to hold large group of people (6-8 people tables). I had the combination pho with everything and the bun bo hue (spicy pork noodle soup). For apps we tried the fried spring rolls. One of the best I've tried in all pho restaurants I've been too! The pho was very flavorful without being greasy and well proportioned in terms of meat to noodles to broth ratio. The spicy noodle soup was also pretty good with a strong lemon grass flavor with I love in bun no hue. The soup has a lot of tendons and other types of meats. Instead I ordered the grilled chicken vermicelli bowl with a spring roll. The portions were generous but the quality was lacking. The spring roll was bland and my chicken was way over cooked. It was flavorful but charred and dry. The bowl has a lot of noodles but they were all stuck together and it was hard to separate them. The decor is no frills and typical of area Viet food restaurants. The service is quick efficient and no frills. They greet you, take your order, and bring your food. After, you pay at the counter. Our visit was to pick up a to go order for our friend staying in the nearby hospital. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the restaurant and after our friend enjoyed his meal, we knew we had to return ourselves. We didn't waste time and returned after the hospital visit along with two friends who had never tried pho. We arrived and though the sign says to wait to be seated, I expected someone to approach us but from afar we were pointed to the table we should sit. We sat and waited for 5 minutes to be approached and he was ready to take our order when he said "oh we haven't brought you water!" My husband and I placed our order and our friends asked questions about the pho they wanted and the guy was very helpful. We also ordered two orders of friend spring rolls. The spring rolls came first and those were good but didn't taste way too fresh. The generous amount of toppings came in a huge plate but I wish they wouldn't be so stingy with the lime. The bowls of soup were pretty big, the broth was tasty and well seasoned, the pieces of meat were quite large both chicken and beef. The brisket didn't have too much fat and the flank steak was made to perfection. Restrooms are moderately clean and smell good. Also very important to mention in this visit.
