Craving rice plates so decided to try this place out. Walked in and greeted by friendly staff. The place is not too big but a very quiet spot to eat. We got the steam rice with chicken, steam rice with pork and popcorn chicken. Overall both rice plates were decent in flavor but nothing too amazing. The popcorn chicken was a bit over breaded and I think needed a bit more seasoning. I will have to come back again to try out the Pho next time. read more

This is one of those rare high-value 'ma and pop' shops located in South San Jose strip mall. The owners, a husband and wife team are both service, chefs and prep, and really offer a fantastic combination of service, value and fresh Viatnamese food offerings. Besides Pho, they have a great selection of both rice, and rice noodle dishes, as well as smoothies with `bobo'. Having visited many Vietnamese restaurants of varying degrees, I am left with some very distinct observations about this one, and they are all good. I always order Spring Rolls when I visit any Vietnamese restaurant. I have even had a friend of mine visit the house and we made spring rolls fresh at home. I like spring rolls... So, these are bar none the absolute freshest spring rolls I have ever had. The rice paper has the texture as though they are made to order, and all the vegetable seem freash as though they were picked in the morning. High flavor and aroma, and crisp to the bite. I am not a soup guy. or at least I should say, until I tried good Pho, i wasn't a soup guy. most, if not 90% of the time, my orders are for Rice Vermicelli dishes. well, since visiting Pho Enjoy, it is always a challenge to determine what I will eat, and it usually ends up being the Pho. They have a great flavor combo in the broth, and the meats are always tender. The vegetables are, like the Spring rolls, super fresh and crisp. The Beef Stew is a great carnivore with spice option. While you miss out on all the vegetables in the first two dishes, the savory beef flavors, and unique spice blend makes you happy you decided to move out of the norm and experience something different. While you might initially feel the beef portion should be larger (because you get 4-5 chunks of meat) the density, tenderness, and flavors will leave you happy and satisfied. While the interior of the store is fairly standard of the strip mall restaurant experience, the husband and wife owners will make you feel part of the family. When my wife and I visit, we feel like old friends, something you cannot easily replicate. I've tried a lot of different things on the menu and everything was Great!! My favorites are the sandwiches and the beef stew. Just came here today! Small Mom and Pop shop in this little plaza. Grilled pork banh mi combo with boba for the both of us and I enjoyed it immensely! Pork was flavorful and the bread was fresh so each bite was so satisfying 10/10 would come back again to try the pho and stew. Would have taken photos but already demolished it. read more

Saw this place and decided to give it a try this past Saturday. As a viet who's really picky with the broth, this is going to be my new go-to hole in the wall. Very small spot however, their broth packs a lot of flavor. Owner and staff extremely nice, and the price for each bowl is far cheaper than mainstream restaurants like Pho 90 or Pho Hanoi. My husband just picked up the vegetable chow mein, spring rolls and garlic chicken. Everything is amazing. Staff is so nice. I love their peanut sauce and their spring rolls are the best I've ever had. This was the first time we've tried their chow mein and it had tofu and lots of vegetables in it. In the bustling suburbs of south San Jose resides a hole in the wall Vietnamese restaurant that doesn't give a Pho connoisseur a second a glance and for very good reason. My girlfriend and I placed an order of wonton noodle soup and the beef stew (Bo Kho) respectively which was on the menu but both not available. Understandingly going to a pho place you'd presume "okay maybe I should order the pho..." however the staff was reluctant to mention that and placed an order of something completely different, the Pad Thai. This was apparent until my order was brought to me, and had to be corrected after. Pho Dat Biet was placed from my side and pho Ga from my gf. The flavor of the broth was decent however the soup lacked the main key ingredients meats to make it their flagship meal, the flank, tripe, and tendons, both of which makes or breaks it for pho lovers. The only redeeming quality to this lack luster charade was the strawberry smoothie and the Vietnamese coffee which were the only uplifting thing to the meal. Beware that the staff text messaged my receipt that was not itemized and the total was rounded up without my knowledge or consent. read more

I came here for lunch today. Looking at the menu, there is a variety of dishes (pho, rice plates, noodle, or sandwiches). The prices for the pho bowls are a bit pricey here. I ordered the 'Enjoy pho beef noodle soup', and this was $11.95. All customers have to order and pay for their food at the counter. There are also plenty of tables inside for people to enjoy their food. I had to wait about 10 minutes for my pho bowl. The pho bowl was huge, so there was a lot of broth. However, there was not a lot of noodles or meat toppings. The portion size for the noodle was more like a kids portion. The temperature of the broth was piping hot, which is nice when you are eating pho. Overall, based on the price, the portion should be a lot bigger. I probably will not recommend this place if you are craving Vietnamese food. There are much better places in San Jose. read more

I ordered a Thai tea, grilled banh mi (chicken sandwich), and popcorn chicken. The popcorn chicken looked nothing like the photos and was very, very, very dry and bland. The sandwich was not even in the top 20 I've tried, and the Thai tea which I ordered with no boba, had lots of boba in it. Not soft boba. Chewy, hard, crumbling boba in tea that tasted artificially sweet and watered down. I think it's worth mentioning that the service was very personable, so maybe trying something else on the menu would make it worth coming again. read more

quite enjoy this local vietnamese shop. Good food, great pho with lots and lots of extra little onion bits and extras that give the soup extra texture and flavoring. Very tasty shaking beef. My only issue is twice now I've walked in for pickup and the male presumed owner is sitting at the tables unmasked without the courtesy to pull his mask up when customers are around. Having worked COVID units since March I have seen firsthand the devastation this virus has brought upon families... and I cannot in good conscious continue to support this restaurant. I will addend this review to 5 stars if notified that this ridiculous behavior is corrected. read more

Hands down the best Pho Ga that I've had! We weren't really expecting much given it's a small place in a strip mall but we were so happy we tried it.
