I just get takeout from here and wouldn't recommend dining in. The food still stays hot by the time I get home. I'm not too big on Vietnamese food so I just order the Chinese dishes instead. Last time I got the Thai spicy beef thanks to me looking through the food pics on here. It came with white rice and I got 3 egg rolls. The egg rolls were ok and the beef was good but not as spicy as I had expected. It had a lot of vegetables. The service was friendly. The broth was very aromatic, clean, and full of flavor. The peanut sauce was hoisin sauce heavy (which I like) and the chili oil had good flavor. The only thing I can say wasn't perfect was the noodles being slightly over cooked. That being said, this did not take away from my great experience here. Jenny always provides me the finest service and their plates are always made with consistency. I like Pho Dac Biet which has all the types of beef for $12.95, but usually order a pho without the meatballs because I personally prefer the others a bit more. The garnish of cilantro and jalapeño with a slice of lime add a nice flavoring and the mung bean sprouts a nice texture. No soy sauce is needed, but I use it since it is there in moderation, and seldom add salt, but spice it with black pepper liberally. Ruben is a Captain grade waiter who's motto is obviously "We are here to serve you", remembers your selections and preferences. I am always met at the door and when leaving they walk me to it and open it for me again. Everything is always very neat and in order, and the several large screen TV's always have a good movie or sports game on. I love the Thai Spicy Beef, the Pho Thai Gam Sac, and green tea or on occasion Thai Iced Coffee, which they always graciously serve it to me HOT. It is always very nice and peaceful, fostered by management and good customers. When I make delivery orders, the service is equally nice, and so, I have no complaints, and eat there regularly. read more

Pho Garden has variety of Vietnamese and American Chinese foods for a decent price point, it's no frill but is good for what it is, restaurants clean, service is fast and food is pretty decent. I will say their ambiance and and food could use a little attention if they wanted to be up to a 4-5 star place, don't get me wrong the food is good but I'm just wanting some more authentic Vietnamese dishes, at least a handful not the whole menu, I know you have to cater a bit to the majority of your customer base hence the American versions. But the menus is so big ditch some of the items and put some more authentic items in, that would make it not a place to go to get a bite, but a place you go out of the way to eat! read more

He was literally the only server AND bussing all his tables. A 14 top of teenagers, a 2 top that walked a $60 tab, Togo orders like crazy. He handled it like a boss. So props to him!! The Vietnamese spring rolls are so crunchy and delicious. Ask for the little cart that has the chili oil and others sauces. The brisket pho is solid!! Broth is luxurious and buttery almost. TLDR; PHO-NOMENAL TASTE & PRICES We randomly stumbled into this restaurant. We originally wanted Thai but it was closed so we came here instead and we are glad we did! The broths for both the pho and the wonton were so herbal and floral with the hint of meat. They really did a great job at perfecting their broth recipe and the flavor proves it! The other standout dish was the orange chicken. The menu said one spice but we got no spice from it at all. However the breading was very light. They were generous portions of chicken and the flavor was great! We are for sure ordering them again. The other standout dish, for me at least, were the fried spring rolls! They almost tasted like a sausage but in a good way? You have to try them to understand. I'm also for sure ordering these each time we go. The only let down was the iciness of the boba. Don't sleep on this place if you want some soul and belly warming pho in the Southside of San Antonio. The portions are HUGE so make sure to come hungry! My office ordered lunch from here today. Some ordered from the Pho menu and others from the Chinese menu. It wasn't anything spectacular; but it was edible. I was taken off guard to see they added a cherry with stem to the top of my fried chicken. That was rather odd. Also, their fried rice was nothing more than plain yellow rice. The service I received when I arrived was pleasant. The lady was receptive to separating payments for each order and she greeted me with a smile. My impression of a male kitchen worker who wears a mask is less than ideal. He came through to the dining area claiming rudely to the cashier that there was no more chicken. The patrons don't need to hear kitchen issues. The restaurant looked clean. There were several hundred menus on the counter as you come through the front door. I quit eating anything from this business. For some time I ordered two broccoli/shrimp meals and large egg drop soup once or twice a week. The reason I stopped is one meal was delivered with the contents of the bag floating in the broth from one of the styrofoam trays. One meal was okay but the other meal was as dry as a bone. The next night I ordered the same meal. When it came it was replay of the previous night. The bag's contents were swimming in broth. When I placed the second order I stated in the order the disgusting mess of the first order to hopefully ensure there would be no repeat. There was a repeat sad to say. I Refused the second order and asked the runner to return the order and ensure I got a refund. The runner and the food left my door. I don't know what happened to the food but I did not get a refund.
