In San Antonio meeting my niece and her friends after a DCI competition. All three wanted something different than the usual food provided by them during the competition.... All wanted Pho. After reading different reviews and based on our location, we decided on Pho Kim Long. Little place right on the corner. When we walked in, place was busy... Noon on a Saturday but we were seated right away. The wait staff was super friendly. We ordered an order of Crab Ragoons and each of us ordered a bowl of Pho. The Crab Ragoons were very good sin size and portion of cream cheese to wrapper. Freshly fried.. Crispy on the outside and soft warm in the inside. I got the combination Pho with Brisket, Rare Steak and Meatballs. Good portion of each type of meat. Broth was hot and so very comforting. Great sense of complex of spices in the broth. Nice portion of the traditional garnishes that comes with Pho. All of us were able to equally share them. Prices very reasonable and all of us left with our tummies full. I think if I had to say which was my top restaurant for 2025, it was probably Pho Kim Long. I've been a loyal customer of this amazing vietnamese restaurant for the last 5-6 years and I am obsessed with their pho. They are located in the Olmos park area and have the tiniest parking lot across from their restaurant, so just keep that in mind when visiting. They do tend to get super busy (specially during lunch) so I usually order takeout. The staff is always very nice and gets your order very quickly. The quality on their food is unbeatable and you can taste the freshness on everything they make. I recently caught the super flu and pretty much lived of their pho for the last week. Whatever they put in their broth is magic because it always makes me feel so much better after drinking it. Highly recommend coming here and enjoying some delicious and authentic pho! read more

Finally got around to trying this place out and regret not going sooner! It's a small(ish) place so there was a small wait on a cold day but well well worth the wait! Once we got sat we placed our orders and had food in front of us in 15ish minutes? It was great. The wings were delicious, you could throw the sauce on a tire and I'd eat it. The bowls were so refreshing and delicious and the pho was perfect. I can't wait to go back! Give this place a try, be aware the parkings tight, don't get overwhelmed or thrown off find the parking get inside and be ready for some amazing food from amazing people! There is a reason why Pho Kim Long is (in my opinion) one of the best pho places in SATX! They have been so consistent for years, I remember my first time coming in 2017, it still hits the same. SO GOOD, even the chinese dishes are incredible, high quality dishes that are always yummy. PH6 is my go to, but I always try new items every time I dine here. If you haven't tried it, ASAP yall! Needed a pho fix, and this place had a good amount of reviews. My hubby and I decided to take a drive and try it. We ordered: fried rolls, PH 11: pho w/brisket and my hubby ordered PH12: pho with brisket, rare steak, and tendon, and a wonton soup (for my daughter). Pros: -food was good. I love their wonton soup more than the pho if I'm being honest. -pricing is reasonable -portions are great -A lot of food options and variety in their menu. They even have bubble (boba) tea. Cons: -Parking is VERY limited. My husband made his own parking spot on the grass area next to the back entrance to restaurant (I don't recommend lol). -service was slow and I was a bit annoyed because we were served after someone else that arrived after us. For takeout it's a solid 4 out of 5. I did dine-in years ago and remember I didn't necessarily like the pho as much. The noodles were the perfect texture when the soup was poured in, and the rare steak in the pho was cooked just right. There were plenty of bean sprouts, cilantro, onions, and scallions. The soup itself was good, but slightly over seasoned for my liking. There was hoisin sauce but no sriracha unfortunately. The vegetarian spring roll had vermicelli and tofu, which was a little disappointing because there could have been other veggies added in there. My husband and I were both taken down by our toddler with an illness this week. The beef pho from Kim Long REALLY hit the spot when we were feeling down. The broth was nicely seasoned and so warm. I am afraid that I must change my review of Pho Kim Long. I am sad to do so because this was one of my favorite local restaurants for over a decade. However, my most recent encounter has soured me completely, and I think I will never return. My favorite dish here was something that did not appear on the menu, Bo Tai Chanh salad. Even though it was not listed, they would whip it up at my request. It consists of beef cappaccio on an iceberg lettuce salad with Vietnamese vegetables and a fish sauce based dressing. Tonight they refused my order. What makes this refusal all the more frustrating is that Pho Bo Tai Chanh (the soup version) is listed on the menu and promoted as one of the favorite dishes. All that was needed, to meet my request, was to cut up half a head of lettuce and throw the non-liquid ingredients of the soup on top. Every restaurant should remember the customer is always right. Their only purpose is to meet their customers' requests to the best of their ability. I understand when a kitchen cannot meet requests with the ingredients or equipment they have. For example, I always call 24 hours ahead to order Peking Duck because the traditional methods require that amount of time to prepare the dish. Or I remember being refused a request to have my meat served rare when the restaurant had already cooked all its meat to medium rare using sous vide. I don't expect the kitchen to do the impossible. But every kitchen must be ready to meet special request whether health related like peanuts, shrimp, gluten, salt, carbohydrates, etc. or relate to tastes or ethics like vegetarian, vegans, seafood, etc. To fail one's customers is the first step to being one of the numerous restaurants to fail and become irrelevant. Any restaurant that refuses to meet reasonable requests fails the fundamental test for good service and does not deserve to be patronized. P.S. I end up going down the road to Yaya's Thai Restaurant (another local restaurant) to get something that met my tastes and preferences. read more

Been here several times and the food is always outstanding. I always liked rank a restaurant by their bathrooms. And surprisingly cleanliness second to how hot the water gets on the faucet. I will tell you that it was instantly too hot to use and it made me smile and confirms this as one of the top restaurants in its cuisine. I'll preface by saying the food is so good. I love the pho and fried shrimp/chicken rolls. I've been coming for years and seen 2-3 new owners in that time. I don't know what's changed but I haven't been in for a few months. I paid $8.61 for the fried shrimp rolls. It has 4 rolls in total. They seem much smaller and had 1 shrimp in the entire roll. Ok ok ok ok, I've had Pho Kim Long #2 in Las Vegas and was screaming when I saw there was a location in SATX. I immediately ordered a Lyft and made the 15 min drive from downtown. IT WAS WORTH IT. Came in for dinner at 6:15 pm on a Monday night and I luckily got a table, but within 15 min THAT PLACE WAS PACKED WITH A LINE OF PEOPLE WAITING FOR A TABLE. So beware lol. Once we ordered our food, it was out within 10 minutes. I went with the #13, Shrimp Pho. It was only $13.95 and the portion was huge! The shrimp in the pho was of high quality and very fresh. The broth was amazing and flavorful. Perfect for a cold night like for this storm passing by currently. Honestly my pho was a 10/10. My wife ordered some cream cheese wontons and those also were amazing! Another 10/10. Overall, I highly reccomend this place if you love Vietnamese food. It was worth the drive and the money. Most cities with any kind of significant Viet presence is going to have a Pho Kim Long in the mix. Unfortunately for San Antonio, they're not all the same and this one is somewhere in the middle. It's ultimately a fine place to dine in but I think their food more average than it is exceptional. The place is unique in its own right. The parking out front is as awkward as it is tight. The windows are completely blacked out likely due to the intense sunlight, but gives this an immediate shady feel (#1) despite being a sizable place. The tables are all 4 toppers, while a high ceiling with a chandelier sits perched about everything. If possible, aim for a booth. Food wise, I'll start with their pho, which is just somewhere in the middle. The murky and semi-dark broth is cloudier than it is clear and the taste is a tad sweeter than what i'd like. When in doubt, just order the special combination (#2) over any kind of pho. Seafood pho should probably be avoided if possible. Not sure how I feel about their banh mi or the "tau" egg rolls, the latter of which also has the Viet equivalent. The summer goi cuon rolls were a tad dry for my tastes and the fried rice and bun dishes are okay in a pinch. I would also heed caution for any of their Americanized dishes. Service also had some work to do, especially since they were a tad too slow to be available for my party. So delicious!!! The food was tasty, hot, and decently priced! We ordered 2 appetizers and a bowl of pho each and total was around $50 which is not bad for today's prices. We got an order of pork summer rolls, an order of Korean beef bbq, a pork pho, and beef brisket pho. All pho is served with beef broth. Service was excellent. Our server was very attentive and kind. I am one of those weird Pho enthusiasts who would totally eat Pho everyday! But let's talk about this place. Starting with the outside, the parking lot is small, so I could see that being a problem during peak hours. I went around 1pm and was almost empty. So woohoo!! The host was pretty nice to us. Nothing to complain about that. Something I always look for is my basil leafs, chilli paste and chilli oil. And this place had all 3 of them. Just mentioning because manny places only give out cilantro (which I don't like) and don't even have chilli oil!!! The Pho taste was good!
