Driving home yesterday, I saw construction on a new Pho place on SW 18th street in Boca and I was so excited. Pho Gia Vi is what the sign said, so I immediately googled the name and saw there was one in Margate. Then, I went to Yelp and saw they had good reviews from some of my Yelp Elite friends, so my husband and I decided to drive to Margate and order some take-out. IMO 3.5 stars. It's located I a small shopping center on 441 and NW 17th. Ordering online is easy and you get an email after you place the order with the time it will be ready. Food was ready for pick up when I got there, and it was busy with people picking up and placing orders. The Grilled Chicken Pho is 5 star and one of the best I've had. You get a choice of chicken or beef broth. Mine cam with steaming hot chicken broth, plenty of perfectly grilled chicken lots of noodles, and a separate bag full of bean sprouts, onions, jalapenos, basil, lime and the hot and sweet sauce. Spring rolls were just ok. They came 2 to the order shrimp, pork, vermicelli noodles wrapped in rice paper and a container of peanut sauce for dipping. They were overstuffed with noodles and a bit bland. Com Do Blen Xao Rau is a stir fry Seafood dish. Calamari, shrimp and scallops mixed with vegetables and served with rice. This too was lacking a bit of flavor. The Pho however, is worth another trip so when they open up in Boca, I will try it again. read more

To be honest, I'm really surprised I didn't love Pho Gia Vi. So many stellar reviews, but my recent experience was just average. Maybe it was an off day? I haven't been feeling the best these past few days, so I thought a big bowl of Pho would do the trick. I ordered the flank steak and brisket pho. I also ordered a passion fruit smoothie with boba, and a side of egg rolls. My husband ordered a pork noodle bowl and a taro smoothie with boba. The egg rolls came out first. They were a bit small, but nice and crispy. The filling was odd though. Not much flavor. I definitely didn't taste any pork. Overall they were okay. The Pho was served in a massive bowl!! Such a large portion. There was an insane amount of meat too! The broth was perfectly hot and flavorful. The noodles were alright. They were thin and a little too soft. I enjoyed the Pho, but only ate half and didn't have a desire to bring the rest home. The passion fruit smoothie was not the best. It was sickeningly sweet. I think too much syrup was used or something as the texture was a bit off too. It didn't seem blended well. Very liquidy at the bottom and icy at the top. I couldn't finish my smoothie either. My husband enjoyed his meal but said he had had better noodle bowls. He liked his taro smoothie too, but said it wasn't the best he had ever had. Overall our experience was okay. Nothing was terrible, but nothing was amazing either. I think it really must've been an off day and we will have to give them another shot. After moving to Florida from California around 2 years ago my husband and I have been trying the local Pho spots!!!! Tonight we thought we'd give this place a go based on other yelp reviews!!!!! Wow - Wow - WOW!!!!! After trying 8 other places we have finally found a place where their pho broth is exceptionally fragrant and flavorful!!! Even the local policeman who was sitting behind us said this is the best pho spot around. My son had steamed tofu which normally they don't offer or say they can make so that was a lovely surprise that he got what he liked too!! We ordered the Cha Gio egg roles - they are small but pack a punch of flavor. I ordered the Bun Bo Hue and my husband ordered the Combination pho. I had never had Bun Bo Hue before and it had pig blood and pig feet along with a spicy broth. Pig blood kind of tastes like liver so if you don't like offal this is not the soup for you. I thoroughly enjoyed the change in my menu selection and happy I gave it a go. There's was plenty of noodles, meat and other normal goodies in the bowl so overall I left feeling satisfied both with my choice and in my tummy!!!! My husband said the pho broth was superb. So glad we found this place! Been looking for solid Vietnamese food in the area and finally found it. The pho here is awesome - so fresh, hot, and hearty! I got the pho with rare steak and meat balls and it was amazing. They also have other dishes besides pho that I will have to come back to try! 3.5 stars. I read great and heard mixed reviews so I had to try for myself! We ordered 2 appetizers and 2 entrees. I thought the gỏi cuốn (summer rolls) was just OK - a little too big to bite and I wish they had better herbs. The gỏi gó sen (lotus root salad) was also just OK - they cut the stems lengthsise which makes it hard to eat without spraying fish sauce all over ourselves. The shirmp is perfectly cooked and pretty big though! I do wish they had the traditional rau răm instead of mint. My friend had bún thịt nớng chả giò (grilled pork and spring roll over noodle and I had bún bò Huế (spicy noodle soup). Although they had a decent amount of fixings, I thought mine dish lacks depth of flavor. The spices didn't seem to have been coked into the meat, but rather float on top. Seen this place on Tik Tok. Black girl came to pho Gia and made it viral...... I said that pho looks delicious so I came to try it. Place is small not aesthetic about it but who cares if the service and food is great right? Well the pho was good. 7.5 but I didn't like the way some customers came in I'm assuming they was the same culture as the owners on pho Gia they looked at all the black people and and went to looking crazy and whispering and the lady who may be the owner seated them and was talking laughing and etc. they was very uncomfortable I felt very unwanted! Laughing hard looking at us it was very much disgusting! If they don't want they business put a sign on the door so we know to stay away. The same way we helped your business is the same way you'll lose it! Be nice! Disappointed by my go-to Pho spot a few weeks ago, I was on the hunt for a new one. This will be it. The pho was insane. The broth is so hearty and delicious. A generous portion of noodles and all the accouterments. We also got the lemon grass noodles with chicken. Another hearty serving of noodles pan fried with chicken and spicy sauce. It was really good. The Chicken banh mi was one of the best I've had. The bread was crunch and the inside was savory and stuffed with delicious chicken and fresh, crispy veggies. Very disappointed in our experience today. My friend and I go to a new restaurant every Wednesday with our toddlers. We enjoyed the food here a few weeks ago and decided to come back. Last time we came the kids made a mess that we offered to clean, they told us don't worry about it so we tipped heavily to compensate. This time the owner told us we could not order them stir fry to share, that they could eat egg rolls... so not only were we told what the babies could and could not eat but we were checked on multiple times and at one point he even pointed to the floor under the boys and was speaking to other customers about it in a different language. We felt we were being shamed and it was a very uncomfortable feeling so much so we didn't even have a conversation we just didn't want to be a bother to other people. We ate and bagged our food early so we could remove ourselves from this awful situation. The other employees who didn't speak English and couldn't communicate with us could tell we were not happy and I could tell they felt bad about how the owner was treating us but there was nothing to be done. This was the mess the boys made today which I think was a lot better than last time but they also didn't get much to eat. I've never had a dining experience like this before in my life. Most places have the proper cleaning equipment for a quick and easy cleanup and are never mad at the children for being children. They are under two years old, a mess is unavoidable. Ever since my last review, thounsands and thousands of yelpers have been begging me to review their Tom, Mue Rang Muoi - their Goi Du Du - their Ga Nuong Ngu Vi and their Omelette Banh Mi. Tom Mue Rang Muoi aka Shrimp & Squid Calamari (A5) Good and bad, it's healthier than norm because it's not breaded and deep fried, but it was also kinda not worth $12. I liked the onions and pepper strips involved. I wouldn't get it again though but it wasn't bad. Goi Du Du aka Papaya Salad with Shrimp and Pork with fish sauce (A6). Definitely better than the above. The shrimp was butterflied which is appreciated. The pork was good....average or better but nothing to brag about. The fish sauce and freshness of the salad was awesome though. Ga Nuong Ngu Vi aka grilled chicken rice dish (R3). Cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. I'd probably get this again but I still think their pho is better than any of the above. The Omelette Banh Mi was badass though, The egg was perfect, runny but not too runny for a sandwich. a 9 out of 10 only because the roll was a bit tough and the veggies on it, although great and plentiful, were a bit boring. I love eating their pho dac biet, bon bo hue, and bo luc lac, and papaya salad. Their pho tastes very bold and authentic. It has a lot of meat and more than two pieces of meatballs. Bon Bo Hue has everything; pork meat, pork blood, and pork bone. Very authentic and it has medium spicy level. Bo luc lac is very seasoned and tender. Gives you a good amount of meat. The papaya salad is good and crunchy. If you want the peanuts on the side (like not add in), you can do that. Just ask them to do that. The only thing I gotta complain is that two weeks ago, I ordered some pho dac biets to go and I noticed this time, there wasn't not much meat as you can see in the photos. There was a lot of side vegetables though. The broth wasn't how I remembered. It was good but not good as before. Maybe they change chefs or something but I was a little bit disappointed with this pho. Place is small so it's not ideally to have a party of 20+ dine in. Good service and not super dirty here. If you're over in the south Florida area (around boca Raton specifically) & are craving viet cuisine, I would highly recommend this place! It's almost a hole in the wall spot with not very many people dining in- but don't let that fool you. They are able to turn their customers over quickly with their swift serving & many others do take out, or some delivery service. Started off with spring rolls. I normally get them without bean sprouts for I don't like the texture - but theirs surprisingly doesn't come with bean sprouts so that's a win! (And rare too at that). This was very fresh also, you can tell its not mass stored in a fridge ready to be served. We decided dine in, & it was quite nice since it's not crowded. We were assisted right away & food came out quick & fresh. We got the shaken beef - filet mignon & cooked to perfection with egg fried rice, with a side of pickled veggies which actually complemented it quite nicely when normally I don't even pay attention to (what I call) decor veggies lol. After our annual physical, my wife and I started looking for lunch spots around Margate. She then told me she had bookmarked a Pho spot in the area, and off to the location we went. The place is located in a small shopping plaza off State Road 7, but it's not too hard to find. Inside the restaurant is not very specious, but for a quick lunch bite, we didn't mind. You know when you see a bunch of Asian people in an Asian restaurant, the food has to be good, or close to authentic as possible. Like most Pho places, the menu looks pretty much the same. I went ahead and ordered my favorite egg roll appetizer and it was pretty decent. Outside was crispy and inside the fillings were nice and flavorful. Without any second thoughts, I ordered their # 1 Pho Combo special. It has just the same stuff in almost all the Pho places: beef steaks, meat balls, stripes..etc. The soup base was flavorful, and the Pho was nice and soft. The only thing I wish is for them to cut the beef in thin slices so it will cooked nicely in a hot bowl of soup. With that said , the beef in my Pho was not cut evenly or through, thus leaving large chunk of beef which hardly get cooked in the soup. Overall the meal was decent. We also ordered a couple of ice coffee and Thai Ice Tea which were pretty good. I only hope they pay a little attention to the small details in the dishes and this place would be 5 out of 5 stars. I would give this place 0 stars id I could. I ordered the tendon pho with extra noodles. The noodles were overcooked. The tendon was bad quality and overcooked. The broth was absolutely horrendous. The brother tasted like blood. I had to put extra sauce to remove the flavor which didn't help at all. I told the waiter the concerns with the food, literally has a few bites of food because it was so bad. ( one of the worst pho I've had). His response was, you still have to pay for it. And I told him to please take it away because it's really bad. Then another waitress comes and goes, you need need to pay for it. Then about a few mins later, the chef comes out and goes to me. Why didn't you like my food? I told him everything I had already told the waiter. His response. Have you had pho before and where? I told him all the pho places, including all the different cities. Always busy and consistent good food. There's limited seating so during peak dinner times, there is potential long waits. The food is worth it though. Their pho always comes out piping hot and fresh. They have nice portions for their rice and noodles dishes. Plenty of appetizers and stir try options as well. Some things are not on the menu but special orders. Since summer is here, we weren't in the mood for steaming hot bowls of pho, so instead we opted for a steaming hot plate of vegetables, seafood, and rice, and a steaming hot bowl of veggies, noodles, spices, and beef. My point is that each dish comes straight from the wok and furthermore is DELICIOUS. You don't have to wait for your food here either. I think it came in five minutes. BEST PHO RESTAURANT in Broward. 100% Bets all in! If you haven't tried pho yet - it's rice noodles, broth (can be beef, chicken, or vegetarian), and garnishes like slices of beef, chicken or veggies. Depending on what you're in the mood for. My go to is Pho Tai Bo Vien. Tai is rare slices of beef that is cooked once the hot broth is poured in the bowl. Bo Vien is Vietnamese meatballs. If I'm feeling sick or sad - I'd order Pho Dac Biet which is a direct translate of Pho Special. It has tripe, Tai (rare beef), bo vien(meatballs), cooked flank, and tendon. This soup helps when you're congested and need a boost of protein. Tendon is great for youthful skin! Lots of collagen! Their food is so flavorful and the beef broth has a lot of spices. I can tell that they have a lot of beef bones in their broth and do not dilute the product. Every bowl comes with a generous amount of rice noodles and herbs. Not once did I get limp mint or Vietnamese basil!! The quality is ALWAYS there hence why i come back at least once a week. Other items that you can try if you're not feeling Pho. Bo Luc Lac which is translated as Shaken Beef. The chef cooks it to perfection. It's not chewy or well done. (You can ask for well done if that's up your alley) I'd recommend getting the egg fried rice instead of the white rice. NO WORRIES!! There is no upgrade charge for that!! Don't be shy. Try the pickled carrot and radish. It cleanses the palette. An Exotic try would be: Bun Bo Hue - Umami dish! It's also a Beef Noodle Soup dish. There's a lot going on! Shrimp balls, beef shank, and pig knuckles. CAUTION- It's spicy! Also, if you see a brown chunk it's pig's blood. I'm going to be honest - I'm not sure if they will serve everyone that since it's not common in Western Meals. Seldomly I'd ask for it to be in my soup. Not the biggest fan but sometimes crave it. Appetizers: You can't go wrong with the grilled pork summer roll. Super refreshing. If you want an Exotic app - try the Cornish Hen. It's time consuming to eat so don't order it if you're in a hurry! The spring roll appetizer for starters, was just packed with wonderful aromatics, and really nice contrast between the pork, shrimp, and noodles with the savory peanut sauce. As for the pho, hands down some of most unique flavored broth I've ever tasted. In addition, the pho was a great sized portion for medium, and had plenty of meat! I used to love this place sadly it is not the same. They updated the decor and downgraded the food. Everything seemed watered down and tasteless. The rare meat for the pho was served frozen. Spring rolls were half the size they were and peanut sauce was mostly soy sauce. My companion had the bun vermicelli ordered shrimp and egg-roll it was served with only two small shrimp and the fish sauce was again tasteless. Very sad to see them cutting corners.
