Grilled Pork over Rice
Jason U.

Tried Pho Grand for takeout and got the grilled pork chop over rice, and it hit the spot late at night. The pork was well-marinated, nicely charred, and had a great balance of sweet and savory, although I will add some parts of it were tough while some were more juicier. Topped with a bit of scallion oil, it added a nice touch of richness. The rice portion was good, and it came with crisp, shredded veggies and fresh tomato and cucumber on the side -- refreshing and crunchy. The fish sauce dressing brought everything together without overpowering the dish. Overall, a satisfying and well-executed rice plate. Would definitely come back to try their pho or other grilled options. Solid 4/5!

Pho here is reliable as ever during frigid wintery days. Especially when feeling under the weather. Ordered the beef ball pho for pick up and I swear I can feel my immune soldiers revived and ready for war. Quick service. Excellent portion size.

Pork chop was grilled well atop the vermicelli. Fish sauce had great umami. Will try the pho next time.

This unrefined yet dependable Vietnamese restaurant may not have the polish of more upscale spots, but it more than makes up for it with consistently delicious, hearty dishes. I ordered the sushi bento box and papaya salad to-go and damn! It came with a lot of food... The flavors are bold and authentic, with a focus on comfort food that hits the spot every time. Whether it's their fragrant pho, perfectly grilled banh mi, or satisfying rice dishes, each meal feels like a warm, homemade experience. The meals seem to be often simple, satisfying, and always reliable. For anyone craving a genuine taste of Vietnam without the fuss, this place is a decent go-to.

Love love love this place! Brought my mum, grandmum and husband here for dinner on a cold winter night and they all pretty much loved everything we ordered! Can't really go wrong with the authentic #1 Pho so we of course got that.. followed by Bun Bo Hue since I'm a spicy junkie. My grandma is a huge fan of spring rolls so we got their crispy spring rolls (which btw.. is actually super crispy) and I can't remember the last dish but I think it's Banh Uoc and Mi Xao Don. (Viet Steamed Rice Noodle Sheets and Pan Fried Crispy Noodles). Mi xao don is a bit different than your traditional noodles which are either in soup or dry so this was nice that the sauce softens the noodles but if you get a bit of the deep fried parts, you still get that crunch! I like pairing this with seafood just because it brings back memories of dishes I ate growing up. Banh Uoc comes with the rice paper for you to wrap the pork slices in along with the garnishments. I like to douse mine in Sriracha but if I'm not mistaken, this should be dipped in fish sauce. Yum - it's a nice change from my usual spring rolls. Service was great - waiters didn't rush us and we were able to enjoy our meal in peace while having our tea consistently refilled. Pretty big establishment too so it'd be great for a quick bite, catch up, or family dinner. I think they take cash as well as credit card but there's a slight discount on cash if I remember correctly so make sure you bring enough!!

I love Pho Grand. I go here at least twice a month with friends because it is very consistent. We love the spring rolls, summer rolls, all of the pho, and vermicelli! This is our go to spot because we never have to wait to get seated, service is quicker, delicious food and very affordable.

Came for the pho but the most pleasant surprise was the banh mi sandwich. The baguette is so crisp and soft at the same time, and the filling (either grilled pork or chicken) is incredibly flavorful. That said, the pho is pretty good too, I would recommend their brisket which is tenderly cooked and not too dry. Wash it all down with a Vietnamese iced coffee for a perfect meal. Prices are pretty reasonable, the sandwiches are around $10 and each bowl of pho costs around $12-15.

I came here on Thanksgiving and there were a decent amount of customers! I got bo kho (beef noodle soup). This is one of my favorite Vietnamese soup noodles. It has a thicker broth (more stew like). It was $13.34 with tax. It satisfied my craving, but lacked a little flavor. So I recommend adding in the hot chili oil that's at the table.

This place has incredible service and they are very quick to take your order and give you your drinks, food, and the check. Haha! The shrimp rolls and the sauce was delicious and crunchy. The shrimp and mixed vegetables were yummy. It was a lot of food for me, so if you have a small stomach, you may want to share. The decor and lighting is pleasant as well. The bathrooms are a work of art. I would come back here again if I were in the area.

I had a hankering for pho so while I was in that part of town, I decided to finally visit this place since it came recommended. It was my first time having pho at a sit down restaurant since moving back to nyc from the west coast (takeout doesn't count). They quickly took my order and gave me my glass of water and the usual garnishments (jalapeño, bean sprouts, lime/lemon). I ordered a pho tai gan (pho with steak and tendon). The flavor was good and I was good with the steak. The tendon seemed to be falling apart before it arrived at my table. It's not bad but it is not my preference. It was not packed so it was not too loud and it was generally clean. For the price, it is a good portion in my opinion and definitely a good option close to the B/D grand street station.

Ohp

I came in before closing time and they still sat me, although salty about it the service was good. The pho broth was very flavorful and I'm picky!! Not too watery either. I drank it cold the next morning and it was delicious. Egg rolls go crazy. Ambiance.

A great spot for pho in the city! I always go for a classic beef brisket pho, and theirs did not disappoint. The broth was full of flavor, and the beef was good quality. I have to say, it does irk me when the noodles are all stuck together in one big ball, and it's been like that most times I've been here. If they easily came apart, it would be no issue, but I had to work at it for a bit. But hey, maybe that's part of the experience. I've also had their crispy spring rolls and pork chop, which were really good. The pork chop comes on the side of the pho bowl and it's marinated really well. Really great meat overall. The spring rolls were pretty good, although I think they could be a little crispier. There aren't many ~good~ pho places in the city, so I'm happy to have this spot!

Came here with a group of friends (party of 7) and was seated very quickly during lunch on a Sunday. The place is very spacious and the menu was very simplistic. I ordered the number 1 big bowl and it had everything that I wanted from brisket, to tripe, and beef. I know this place is good when I do not need to add anything to the broth other than jalapenos. The broth was very clean and clear but very rich. Noodles were plentiful and there was a good amount of meat. After tax and tip, a big bowl was $15, which is very affordable. This is the perfect place to get pho and if you had a long night out, this is the best place to detox. One of the best pho places so far in NYC that I've tried.

I got the pho ($21.78), which is steep for pho, but I guess that's Midtown prices for you. The wait was a slog--over 20 minutes for a bowl of pho, which other Yelp reviews warned about. When it finally arrived, the soup lacked that authentic pho aroma, which was a letdown. On the plus side, the beef was fresh, and the reusable to-go bag was a nice touch. Decent, but the wait and price make it hard to love. Might try again if they speed things up.

After waiting 30 minutes, for what is literally the simplest item on the menu, the bowl is brought out and it's a bowl of broth with a couple slices of chicken. No noodles. When I inquired, the server told me it's because I ordered the Plain Pho... yea and I said it comes with noodles and broth. They told me they could get me noodles, but acted like they were doing me a favor by fetching noodles for me, which was quite offputting because the noodles were quite literally half of the dish I actually ordered. How does one wait half-an-hour at a very casual fast Vietnamese food place, for premade soup and noodles, and still have the order wrong? In the end, I did get my noodles and broth, but the fact that I had to spend this much time and also justify my request for noodles (which are part of the dish) is quite insane. I put this at 2 stars for now, because I enjoyed my first time. Hopefully the service will improve.
