Such a great pleasant surprise. Found this place on UberEats originally, and have been eating here ever since. My favorite meal is the chicken pho. The first time I tried it I absolutely fell in love. The broth is not overly salty and actually tastes better than most places I've tried this year. The last who took my order and put it all together was extremely quick and sweet. She asked me everything to make sure my experience would be the best and didn't let me leave until I was satisfied. Don't let the outside fool you. I wasn't sold at first, but let the food do the talking. The quality and the price set this place apart from the rest. Would be nice if oxtails were actually in it since the price is higher than the other soups. The broth is missing the taste from the spices. Pho Nga in CC is better and cheaper. They were very nice but not a great experience. Our pickup order was completely wrong, didn't even match the ticket. We called to tell them and they said bring it all back, which I did and they replaced it. After having gone back and forth and spending $43 on literally two soups and spring rolls we were pretty frustrated. I asked if I could just keep the wrong order since they would just throw it out, which they obliged. But man, we got home and even the correct order was just not great. The broth was pretty bland, there wasn't much meat considering it was $16, and the $12 spring rolls. Literally was lettuce and a little bit of meat. Sorry, $6 / spring roll when you have about less than a $1 worth of food in it is just wrong. Also, the peanut sauce was runny as water. It was a cold windy night in SCV and was craving some soup. We walked in the place was packed but still very clean ! I had the oxtail broth and the hubbs had the vegetables broth pho. I rarely give 3 stars as I know these business owners are struggling, but couldn't resist. Hopefully they will step it up. I wanted to give my local pho place a try and a opportunity as I could've gone to a real Vietnamese Pho place a little further away. First off, I wanted to sit outside. Basically, it was a self service deal for me. When I saw the Now Hiring sign, I knew right off the bat that they are struggling to find workers during this pandemic craziness. I told the older gentleman working in the store, I wanted to sit outside, so he started handing me the condiments, utensils, etc and said when I'm ready to order come back inside. Not a problem. I ordered my meal and he handed me a pitcher of Water. The pho came quickly within 5 minutes. The bowl was filled with noodles and a handful of meat and you could barely see the soup. The gentleman was kind enough to give me another bowl of soup. I had to take some noodles out as I was here for soup. The gentleman said they put a pound of noodles in the bowl- Woah!! He did give me the bean sprouts, basils, and lime that looked like it's been sitting out for days and being reused. I don't mind I'm Asian and don't like food wasted. Then I took a taste of my soup and it was lukewarm and that did it. I had to make another bowl of soup with the extra bowl of soup that the gentleman provided to me. Luckily the bowl of soup was hotter in temperature. No I won't sue you if I burn my tongue, but I do understand there are sue-happy folks. The soup did not taste like the typical 5-spice pho that I am accustomed to and was looking forward to It. This was a simple beef broth. The upside, the spring rolls I ordered aren't the typical Vietnamese spring rolls. It was more of a Korean spicy pork spring roll with a lot of lettuce and no noodles. They could've use my pho noodles in the spring rolls. Nonetheless the Korean spicy pork spring rolls ended up tasting pretty good. When I went to pay, the gentleman had the nerve to upsell himself saying yeah we put a pound of noodle because Caucasians like it. He said yeah our stuff is quantity and quality. What a joke. In valencia, this is the best pho spot. Order the house hot sauces, the lady in the back makes them each time herself, (her secret ingredient sauce). Pho is served piping hot every time and quickly brought out. The broths are fantastic and noodles made well. I've found each time that the herbs and meats are fresh each visit, and that the place is running smoothly for how chaotic it can get. It's a tiny little hole in the wall spot in the middle of a small shopping center on McBean, parking can be dicey sometimes. They have plenty of lunch and dinner options, however each time I've only had the pho thus far. On the other tables, however the other food looks fantastic too! (Soup just happens to be my rainy day dinner so I doubt my order will vary much). Would recommend to anyone! Prices are extremely reasonable too. That's always a bonus. read more

Through my observation when I was there, they are kinda bias to whom they serve better. If I could rate less than one I would. The prices are higher by 2$ than advertised on their website. My was described on the menu as having mushrooms, tofu and fried tofu. There was no fried tofu and when I asked the server about this she said it was either or which was not stated on the menu and I was not asked I wanted. The only hint of mushroom was a few 1/4 inch thin slices of something. The "fresh" vegetables normally served with pho instead were one wilted stalk of basil, wilted cilantro, old lime. My husband ordered a beef pho and the broth was not Vietnamese bone broth but a Korean broth. Best pho I've had! I cannot recommend Pho HA 888 strongly enough! You will not be disappointed!

The good: Pho is a great noodle soup option that cures hangovers and ails illnesses. It isn't greasy or too fatty so it is a really nice and balanced option when you can't stomach too much food. I ordered to-go and tried the chicken (ga) and dat biet (special combo) pho. The portions were generous. There was plenty of soup. I had enough soup to eat for leftovers the next day. All of the appropriate accompaniments came with the soup: chopsticks, hoisin sauce, Sriracha sauce, jalapenos, bean sprouts, cilantro, green onion, onion and basil. Everything was nicely packaged and easy to assemble for take out. The soup was still hot enough for the pho ga but we heated it up for the dat biet since there was rare meat in that one that we needed the hot broth to cook. They offer a lot of smoothie and dessert options as well. My husband was happy that the server didn't correct his pronunciation of pho ga (he likes to flex his Vietnamese knowledge by adding the appropriate inflections on Vietnamese words). I felt bad as I didn't check the time they closed, and we were going to leave to return the next day, but they welcomed us with open arms. Oh my goodness! My mom and I love pho and our favorite place was closed for today, so we decided to try this place out. The server was really sweet, but I simply do not recommend eating here. We also ordered boba, and usually at pho restaurants the boba isn't the best, but it tasted so bad I do not even know how to explain. My mom and I are not picky eaters at all, and we hate wasting food, but everything was just so bad we couldn't finish anything. From our pho, to our drinks, to our spring rolls. As for the place itself, I don't want to bag too hard, but there were a lot of things piled up in the front that made the eating experience if not worse. My mom said was an eyesore. Takeout quality has drastically gotten worse. They don't put enough broth and you get a very small amount of noodles now. They used to give a bigger portion before. As far as condiments go they give you about a small tablespoon of cilantro and no more basil. Two slices of jalapeños is just ridiculous. I was left feeling hungry after eating this. Definitely recommend dining in if you want the full portion size and not feel hungry after. Also, the older lady was ignoring me for a customer that walked in after me trying to place an order. Stopped in after reading the reviews and working In the area. Very cute inside with an attached Boba spot.... the Boba menu is extensive and very interesting! I am def going to come back and try one. Staff is super friendly and attentive! My waiter was awesome and genuinely seemed to love his job. I forgot his name but he is here in the pic. His service and the atmosphere gained 5 stars here for me. I ordered the veggie pho. It was good. The best part was the fried tofu, it seemed to be tempura style fried and was very delicious. I haven't had it like this in pho before . Broth was good, for me the pho itself was lacking vegetable variety . Would have liked to have some mushrooms, carrots and imitation beef would have set it off. Otherwise it was good. Broth had good flavor. Parking is easy also.
