Authentic, affordable, quick, tasty, friendly especially to frequent flyers, homey. I don't order meat pho as I'm a struggling vegetarian but when I used to order steak stuff I found that the meat bits were small in amount. Good quality just small portion of meat. Tip of the century for this place: Bring your own cut, steamed vegetables in a ziplock and chuck em in there! read more

So I came into the restaurant and it carrys a pungent smell, then got my table that I had to clean myself, Then the table had a used covid mask, portions were too small for an XL order basically forcing someone to order extra meats ect. Busser was slamming all the dishes, person who took my order removed the menu while I was still trying to order. Jesus I can keep going! Terrible place. read more

I have my regular place that I go to and it's on Anaheim Street pho 881 . The parking is terrible. SNS you come into this place the tables look old and scratched but I still decided to give this place a chance even though I felt like it was kind of sketchy coming in there was a weird smell to the place. I ordered pho I was so disappointed it was different options I decided to get like the combination with tendon rare steak and brisket. Guess what there was no rare steak and there was no tendons. And the amount of noodles is so little. But I wouldn't mind if there was little the noodles if the broth was good. This broth is so bland. I've gone to plenty of Vietnamese places in my lifetime and this is by far the worst flavored one. Save your money this place has no flavor. I go to pho 881 and the service isn't all that good . For the most part that is how Vietnamese places are lol. but the flavor is on point and you get free thai tea and the parking is good. read more

Had a munch down feast with vermicelli with grilled pork noodle salad, Pho Hong Phat Dac Biet, 2 spring rolls, 2 Vietnamese ice coffees, 2 iced green teas, Chinese donut, sesame bread. Their special hot sauce is pretty different and tasty. I need to get more food Togo next time I am here! Everything was delicious, hot, fresh. My bf is Vietnamese and said everything tasted authentic. I keep dreaming about it and wanting to come back... It's that good! read more

Me and my wife enjoy eating here some of the best pho noodles in town , to our like, especially after going out the night before and waking up a lil hungover , the oil chili they have makes it taste 100 time better for me . Small amount of noodle, so so flavor, and they charge 3.99% service on my credit card without letting me know, after I left cash tips on the table. Just me and my husband, not big group‍ After I swiped my card, the lady announced $31.97 and asked me to choose the % of tips, I told her I left cash on table, but when the receipt printed out, a 3.99% service charge was added on the $31.97, not big money, but why announced loudly $31.97 loudly and turned the tablet for me to enter tips if you already automatically charging customers? And the print out showing different amount to what she said to me. Most of the time I don't pay attention to the receipts and thought the amount should be just what they said. Pho is good here- no doubt. One thing I really like is that they have an extra large bowl. Sometimes large just isn't enough. The customer service here is also very good and attentive- and quick. My only knock on the place is that the restaurant has the "pho funk." Many pho spots have this smell because of the cooking process. I accept it- be forewarned. The best down to earth pho place around here. The pho is simple n traditional as u can get. They also sell their "fry bread" but they usually sold out by afternoon. My fav is #14 with everything and meatballs, n a side of the bread. The picture I am gonna add is an empty bowl. Because it's that good. Good for lunch crowd. Street side parking only. I'm so happy to be at Pho Hong Phat! I ordered the Pho Ga (#18 Chicken Noodle Soup) with extra onions and cilantro... Also, If Ü like your Pho spicy like I do, then add their homemade chili sauce!!! Service was 3/5: I asked if there was bun bo hue, and they said that they had it but they mistook it for a different dish. Understandable mistake, in which everyone is human. Another thing is that they kinda stare into the dining room alot, as if theyre watching you eat like a pet wanting food. Upsides being that, these people are very, VERY friendly. They remember the customer's name who turn out to be regulars. Food was 2/5: The thing they gave me by mistake turned out to be really good. The rice vermicelli dish, or "bun" has a really good luk mum (vietnamese fish sauce) I actually preferred it to the pho. The pho tasted really watered down. The broth never pierced the noodles in terms of flavor, usually I would bring the pho broth home but this time obviously. Reason why I gave this place a 3/5 stars is because I would come again. Maybe there's better places nearby, but according to long beach 2021, this was a Top 5 restaurant. Also, for the price its great for what youre getting read more

Went for lunch today and the pho was delicious! I liked that they offer small, medium, large and extra large sizes. I got the medium rare flank steak and it was really good! Service was quick and friendly. Would go back again the next time I come to Long Beach. read more

Not a bad spot. Honestly, the only thing I did not expect was the $17 bill just for an XL chicken pho, iced coffee, and two pieces of their bread. Parked at the Walgreens adjacent to the place because it's street parking. At 11 a.m. on a Saturday, place was pretty filled up. The XL pho was filling, but a little pricey compared to other places I've been to for an XL pho. The chicken was thinly sliced, which was nice. When the waiter asked me if I wanted bread, I thought it was free. It was not. Was$1.50/ea., but...IT WAS SO GOOD. The iced coffee with condensed milk was pretty standard. I went there today, and I would have to agree with a lot of the reviews. Their portion is so so small! I even added extra meat and there was barely anything in there. The food was decent, but after spending $17 on a large pho, And still being super hungry, it's just not worth it! read more

I've been here a lot and just lately, the serving size has been getting smaller? I ordered a large bowl of pho and it had barely anything in it. Just broth. I complained about it and the server told me don't expect too much lol. I hope they aren't expecting raving reviews with this kind of serving size. read more

This is our family's go to place for pho in Long Beach. Their service and pho are always consistent. My usual order is pho tai (rare steak) and it comes in piping hot. The quality of their meat is great and broth is always flavorful. Also really love their special hot sauce! Has a little tang to it. The service is very quick, once you sit down they bring the sprouts, lime, and basil right away. Staff is nice and quick to the point! Tip: It's cash only and street parking. read more

Hours from 8am-5pm closed Wednesdays Cash only(strange) but...the pho' is soooo yummy and good! I've had numerous amounts of pho' at different restaurants and this one actually satisfied me. I had the chicken pho' small and it was a very good sized portion with all it's veggies that come on the side, limes, chiles, some of that hot red sauce, some of that brown sauce, a little bit of this and a little bit of that and BAM there it is! This has become "Our Pho Spot" in Long Beach. Whenever my friend and I crave pho while we're at work, there is no question about where we'll go to eat. I took her to Pho America (on Pacific) once, but she didn't care for their pho. You can't judge this place by it's clumsy ambiance. It's like eating lunch/dinner at your friend's house who happens to have a bunch of people who live there! It's crowded, but the wait is bearable and worth it. After my string of visits, I've noticed some familiar faces - regulars, so that says a lot. The service is pretty quick and the pho is always served hot just the way I like it. Only negative on the food front that I recall is the bread you can order on the side - it's not fresh and a bit on the oil saturated side, so I'd skip that. Otherwise, Small Pho Tai ($6)all day! CASH ONLY and parking can be a pain. Just be patient and you'll leave happy. read more

Finally, a good bowl of pho in the LBC! It's all they serve here. Nothing fancy. No eggrolls, springrolls or rolls of any kind. Just a good piping hot bowl of pho that I swear has healing properties. They do have the typical vietnamese beverages such as the iced coffee with condensed milk and my personal favorite, coconut juice with tender pieces of real coconut in it. I'm getting thirsty just writing this. They only open from 8am-5pm everyday, except closed all day wednesday. They told me that in the mornings they have fried crullers delivered around 8:30. I've only been partaking in the pho experience for a few years, but this restaurant definitely satisfies my 10:30am sudden cravings for a bowl of rare steak pho. I usually come here with the same friend and the owner just comes up to our table and asks us if we want the usual. I enjoy the pho so much that, although our steaming entrees come out in almost seconds sometimes, it seems like a starving eternity. The only this that sux about this place is the parking. If I don't park directly in front of the restaurant, I have to risk being towed from the Walgreens lot. As far being in a sketchy part of town, as I've read, just brush up on your gang signs and you will be fine. read more

Hard to imagine this tiny rundown looking corner shop has a solid 4star 200+review rating. I was thinking "oh no, its another location that has a decent rating that has terrible food but people keep throwing out 5stars and it gets boosted" They charge you $0.25 for a plastic glass of water. I was like fudge that! gimme a thai iced tea! If i'm gonna have to pay for the water I might as well buy a drink I can enjoy! Ordered #1 small. Came out looking like it was in a dirty bowl cuz there was all this grainy stuff floating on top and around the edges like soap scum in a bathtub. The smell of the pho was really really upsetting, I could not describe it accurately but it smelled like rancid meat or something. The noodles also looked soggy and clumped together like it was premade and left lying around in the back in prepared containers. VERY surprisingly, the noodles were very yummy (definitely not soggy like if you leave it swimming in the broth too long), the meat was not in scarcity (2 big pieces, and about 4 smaller crumpled pieces), and the broth was actually quite flavorful (it wasn't like salty, it had alot of aroma but again I can't describe the exact taste of it. For sure its much different than the normal pho joints in westminister or even overpriced pho in irvine). Seriously a bowl of pho for 5.30 is not expensive. Try going down to Irvine where its like $8-9 for a basic bowl of pho. sheesh. CASH ONLY! and I didn't get a receipt but when I calculated my total....it wasn't the same as I was charged but it was off by like less than fifty cents so I was like "pffft I'm not that ...'thrifty' ::rubs thumb and forefingers, add Russel Peter's accent::" =) read more

Now if all you want is pho, and you want it NOW, this is THE spot! This place only serves pho and drinks. Nothing else. Walked in, immediately seated, a plate of sprouts automatically to the table w hot sauce. Order taken, less than 5min, order is out and we're eating. Soup is tasty and hot sauce is spicy! Noodles just right and they give enough lime (I love my pho limey ;). Love that you can order a small too bc that's all I wanted! In and out in less than 30min! We're on our way home from a road trip, so this being quick and easy was a huge plus for us! read more

I was at home watching Anthony Bourdain when he started going off about pho and how amazing it is, etc. I knew of this tiny pho shop in Long Beach but it's always closed in the evenings so I quickly called and I found out that I had an hour to get over there! I couldn't get pho out of my head after watching the episode so I got in my car and headed over. I was very curious how this would compare with pho I had in Vietnam as well as other places around SoCal. Maybe most importantly- were people still loving this place as a couple poor reviews cast a bit of doubt into my mind! The question was answered almost instantly- the pho is great! It's been a while since I enjoyed such tasty pho and perhaps it was the noodles that I loved best. It just seemed to have the perfect flavor for me, the one I was seeking for, the one Anthony seemed to have found in Hanoi! My wife ordered the salted lemon(ade) drink... sounded interesting and it was refreshing and perfect. I normally don't get a drink with my soup but I most definitely will the next time I come. The restaurant itself was exactly what I imagined- small with about a dozen plain tables, and a very nice and helpful staff. It was quiet and peaceful inside- perfect for enjoying a soup on a cold (relative of course) California day! ;) read more

I live for pho but this place is not that great. I came in for lunch with my friend last week and it was a packed house. It was definitely the first time I walked into a pho restaurant where we were the only asian people. That was kind of the first sign the food might not be so great. The service was decent. I ordered the Pho Tai Bo Vien and it came out pretty quick. The bowl was slightly dinky with barely any noodles or meat but I didn't want to eat too much for lunch anyways. The broth was extremely bland but after I added hoisin, siracha, tons of lime and mint, my soup almost resembled westminster pho. If I really needed pho and I was in the area, I might swing by. I liked how it wasn't too fatty. -Fish Amok: It did not look like the picture, but the dish was still good. It was a sweet fish curry which was sweet from the coconut milk. This was tasty and the fish was soft. It wasn't fishy at all. This paired well with the rice. I would still opt for a savory curry though. -Beef Skewers: These were yummy and I enjoyed the charred flavor of these! The flavor was very similar to Filipino skewers. I liked how even the fatty parts were enjoyable. Steamed Rice: Fluffy and not mushy which I liked. It came served in this cute rice bucket which preserved the heat of it. The restaurant was decorated nicely and was pretty clean. Bathrooms available which were also clean. The service was good and attentive. There's lots of free parking in the lot in front. Overall, a solid Cambodian restaurant that's worth checking out in the Long Beach area!
