just checked out the newly expanded pho hut. it's much nicer inside, almost not authentic asian cuisine-nice. There is another pho place down the street but that's crap. This is the better Pho restaurant. Don't mind the weirdy friendly waiter-dude undressing you with his eyes, he's totally harmless as far as we know besides the more he creeps on you the better the service. it's a small price to pay and well worth it. oh come on, you know you like it. parking sucks tho. read more

The pho is so delicious and the prices are very reasonable. Sometimes the staff seems a bit abrupt, but their food is always on point. I do wish they delivered, but you can order for pickup and everything is nicely packed and piping hot when you assemble it. hi yelpers!! im obsessed with this place for two items on their menu: 1. tofu summer rolls 2. vietnamese sandwich i live in downtown, so why would i ever go to glendale? i venture to glendale sometimes soley for the above two items. they are THAT delicious. i cant explain it to you, you just have to try it. i think with the summer rolls, i like the kind of lettuce they use, the amount of lettuce they use, and the amaaaaazing peanut sauce! as for the sandwiches, youre really just going to have to try them for yourself, because theyre out of this world great. love at first bite :) read more

Let's be real. It's not that great compared to a lot of places in the city of LA, BUT hands down, it's the best place for pho in Glendale. Price is reasonable. Service is a little danky during their busy hours (lunch and dinner - typical). I go often because it's reasonably priced, and it's in the area. read more

Ok let me begin by saying that it was not a good experience visiting this restaurant. The reason is because we waited for our order for almost 50 minutes and not once the waitress let us know what is going on and when we made the move to ask her how long more we are going to wait, she got very confused and went away to find out. She came back with a very putty face making an excuse that they were super busy, however they where people who came after but received their order prior to ours. Also Pho doesn't take 50 minutes to make, it's a soup. We asked for the check and hoped that they would give us a discount or remove an item, none of that happened. i like this place a lot. i work near here, so i don't have to worry about parking, although i can see that parking can be a problemo. i really love the pho here, and it's better than what i've found in the valley. their smallest portion is a medium, and that's pretty huge already. they also have vermicelli and rolls, but i have yet to try them. whenever i go here, i just can't resist the pho and always order that. oh, and they got chicken pho, too, which i haven't tried yet, either. i just love the beef + tendons + tripe etc etc. they also have boba drinks, which go great with the pho. the service is fast and the workers are very friendly. i have to go here at least once every other week because it's a cozy lil place, the food's great, and the workers are really nice. read more

We stopped here for lunch today after reading all the positive reviews. I'd never eaten pho before, and I think this place was really tasty. I tried the chicken pho and our table ordered egg rolls. The egg rolls were tasty and the pho was really good. The vegetables all seemed fresh and the broth was great. Lots of noodles and a fair amount of meat. Ate here again recently and decided that a 3-star rating is actually more accurate in terms of how good the food is. Although, it's probably the only thing that's close to an authentic pho experience in Glendale, I find myself telling my friends the place is "OK" or "not bad" when they ask me how it is. It's decent, not great, which is what 3 out of 5 stars conveys. I think Mama Hong's in Burbank is a better option in this general area or Indochine Vien in Atwater Village. read more

This is an update. I came here about 3 years ago or so and would've given 3 star for food. This visit, Pho has definitely gotten much better. It looks like the menu has been condensed from years ago with more dishes found in authentic Vietnamese restaurant. Now items left on the menu seems what non-Viet general masses order. This location was recommended to me and I must say the pho has lived up to expectations. However the Thai iced tea with boba is fairly meh. The boba is very squishy and tastes like it's been sitting for days. They seem to be very busy with only 3 people to work the whole restaurant. The staff has pretty much no interpersonal skills and are very brusque but that's typical for an Asian restaurant. However, it was very frustrating because we were waiting for over 10 minutes for someone to see us and give us our check. They also did not replenish our water, and during the recent LA heat wave this would have been nice. The most annoying part of our meal was that we were at the table closest to the cash register and the blender was SO LOUD. My husband and I kept having to shout at each other to hear. I looked over at one point and saw they were not even using the sound shield. This alone made us rush through our meal so that we could leave, because we had such a headache from the noise. read more

I'm not sure why this place has such average ratings and reviews. My family and I have been coming here for years and after trying several other Vietnamese restaurants in the area (including some that have "better" reviews), Pho Hut definitely takes the cake. Decent prices, great portions, and nothing compares to the quality of their rice vermicelli! My go-to items are the spring rolls (tofu or shrimp), chicken pho, and the vermicelli with either pork or beef. Their service could be slightly improved, and it's sometimes difficult to communicate special requests such as substitutions, but all that I can live with as long as I have my pho! read more

While this isn't the most delicious pho I've ever eaten, it'll do in a pinch. Service can be slow because they are often busy and seem to be short staffed. I enjoy their prompt, easy going service as much as I enjoy my bowl of pho. I love how their broth is always piping hot and flavorful. I always ask for less noodles and they will note my request without hesitation. Let's put everything into context. This is place is in Glendale, not SGV or Westminster. The San Fernando Valley isn't exactly an enclave for Vietnamese people. I had a chat with the owner and he admitted that they tweaked the flavor to cater to non-Vietnamese eaters. So the broth is on the light side in terms of beefiness and it isn't as fragrant. With that said, it IS authentic. Experienced Pho-eaters will find the flavor familiar, albeit watered-down. One huge downside is the price - a large bowl goes for $8! (About $2 more than typical places) But considering that I work nearby, and a roundtrip to SGV will cost me more than $2 in gas, I will be back whenever I need a Pho fix. read more

I'm guessing there aren't too many Pho restaurants in Glendale, as this place was packed and service was very slow. I had not seen this place before, so I was surprised when it popped into place. Usually I'd expect to get my order in about 5-10 minutes regardless of how busy at other Pho restaurants. However this one took 20 minutes. Sure I added an order of spring rolls, but that came after my Pho. Once it did arrive the meat was chewy, although plenty. The soup base was salty. The spring rolls were dry and bland. The dipping sauce didn't have a garnish of peanuts. All in all, when there is only one, it doesn't leave much choice. read more

I always get the Vermicelli noodle with egg roll and steak bowl. It always delivers, its delicious every time, and is enough for two. Extra beef is only $3. The Banh mi sandwich is delicious as well, stuffed with delicious vegetables and Pho Hut meat of your choice. The flavor Pho Hut gets on their pork and beef is phenomenal. read more
