I met up with my BEST FRIEND who had been waiting forever for a good rainy day so we could dine here! Apparently, everyone else had the same idea! What the heck is Pho? Pho is a popular Vietnamese noodle soup characterized by its flavorful broth, rice noodles, with various vegetables, sauces, other aff ins for added flavor and texture. The broth is typically made by simmering bones, herbs, and spices for an extended period, resulting in a rich and aromatic base. We were helped right away with perfect service! We started with the shrimp spring rolls and asked for an extra side of the peanut sauce (since I'm getting over a cold.) After the appetizer arrived, we put in our order for the 'King's Special.' After we ordered, she brought us the vegetables and lime that accompany the soup and since it was so busy, it took longer than normal, but that's ok. We were enjoying our spring roll appetizer. When our food finally arrived, the intoxicating aroma filled our noses. It smelled so good I could already taste it. Sip are sip, my taste buds were in heaven. The broth was cooked perfectly... and this is the only time my BEST FRIEND and I were quiet. We took our check up to the front to pay. We said our goodbyes to the staff who are working so hard. Please don't forget to tip!

Spring roll with grilled pork
Mel J.

We visited here because our friend recommended it. The restaurant was packed for dinner on Sunday at 7pm. - Spring roll with grilled pork: good. The grill pork was tender and smokey. The vermicelli was perfectly cooked and the veggie was fresh. The peanut sauce was delicious. - P2 (rare steak pho): The noodle was chewy yet still firm. The broth was savory and good. The rare steak was good. - Grilled chicken & egg roll rice: the portion was quite generous. The grilled chicken was tender and smokey (tasted ok). The egg roll was crispy and the filling was delicious. - Mi la cay (dry noodle): it had loads of meat pieces (shrimp, squid, chicken). The noodle was perfectly cooked and chewy. The bean sprout and crispy onion on top gave nice crunch to the dish. However, the dish lacked of flavor.

The food is okay. The spouse wanted to try but he should have listened to me and went elsewhere. P3 Pho with rare steak and meatballs: The soup was not piping hot like I am use too. Maybe lukewarm. I could literally cradle the bowl with my hands vs having to hold from the rim. Not enough soup as well. Too much star anise in the broth. You can not miss the fragrance of the star anise which made the soup a little too spicy for my kids. S7 Curry beef noodle. Didn't care for the ramen noodle but the flavor was decent. It reminds me of KaPoon. The beef was soft and tender. C2 Rice plate and we chose grilled chicken and pork. The pork was a tad chewy for my kids. The did like the grilled chicken which is usually the opposite. Hint of lemongrass. The amount of rice is much smaller than other places that I have been too. Eggrolls: The kids gave it a two thumbs down. The reason is most likely the flavor was overpowered with black and white pepper. You could see the black pepper specks inside the egg roll. My son and daughters all said it's too spicy and I thought you were joking but I could taste the black/white pepper. Spring rolls: Wished they wrapped the rolls tighter. One bit and the rest of the roll seems to "fall" apart, the peanut sauce was good though. 18% added gratuity and the wait staff didn't even come to check on us. We were just a party of 5. It's getting kind of frustrating when people start adding auto gratuity with parties of 6 or less. Also this is a cash only place.

Never a bad experience at this place. Their banh mi is top tier. I've had their pho and tacos as well but this always has me coming back for more. Bad part is that it's cash only but at least they have an ATM onsite

Extra crispy pork belly Banh Mi
Cassy R.

Pho King Good -- Absolutely Worth the Drive! We drive over an hour just to get our hands on the extra crispy pork belly Banh Mi and fresh spring rolls from Pho King Good -- and it's worth every mile! The Banh Mi are perfectly balanced: the pork belly is incredibly crispy l, we order extra crispy each time, and flavorful, the bread is fresh and airy, and the pickled veggies add just the right amount of tang. The spring rolls are equally amazing -- so fresh, packed with flavor, and surprisingly filling. They make the perfect fuel for our hikes and adventures. Every bite tastes like it was made with care and quality ingredients. Pho King Good truly lives up to its name -- five stars all the way!

Fresh Lychee!

This place is a cute, big on flavors and great service by the staff ( you know its authentic as it can be when business is run by family ) Dined here after watching a baseball game in Sacramento. We ordered the crepe, pho ga(chicken) & their homemade lychee gelato. It was a good meal after a long day of eating crap food. Lol! The large pho is good. You probably need to put the chili sauce if you are a fan of spicy flavorful food! Clear and intentional flavor on the broth! Good portion of limes, thai basil and bean sprouts! My hubby had crepe with shrimp, sweet pickled daikon and carrots, lettuce, fresh cilantro, basil and mint. Again, the freshness of the ingredients made it make sense! My little one had lychee gelato. Its like coconut & lychee at the same time. Very soft and silky! We also ordered food to-go! They made sure to separate the veggies, meat & goodies and bread from the banh mi I ordered. They are so kind and thoughtful! Great customer service. At the same time they gave my daughter fresh lychees! Aaaah! She does miss this, since we moved here in America, asian food had been always our craving! Thank you for a great time! We hope to come back again when we are driving down from the mountains!

Food and Thai tea was delicious. Service was quick and efficient. They ran out of the bahn mi! Will return to try. 5/5 great food would return.

Had Pho King Good while visiting family in Auburn. The pho was good, broth, meat and veggies all tasted fresh. I believe this is one of two Pho spots in town. I am spoiled in San Jose with great spots, but in Auburn, Pho King Good is satisfying if you need to cure that craving for pho. We had the egg rolls and those tasted solid as well. The service was great and the restaurant was nice and clean.

definitely lived up to its name, everything was amazing, egg rolls were excellent, kings special pho was amazing, and the vermicelli with grilled beef onion rolls was the bomb! definitely will be back, thank you !!!

My bowl of beef noodle soup, aka pho at Pho King Good was awesome! The beef bone broth was clear, flavorful, and tasty. What I like most about my bowl of pho were the perfect broth, the fresh basil/ beansprouts, generous amount of quality rare beef and meatballs. I was happy that the service was fast when the restaurant was busy. The server was friendly, polite, and helpful. The restaurant is spacious, clean, with many cool decors. There are plenty of parking right on the lot. My belly was happy at Pho King Good. Definitely will return to try other options on the menu. Highly recommended it!

Chicken pho & veggie pho

A favorite spot of mine! One of the employees (Ken) always makes me feel welcome and is very personable. The place feels very homey and I believe all the employees are family (at least they act like it). I go here once every couple weeks. CASH ONLY! But they have an ATM. They have one of the BEST Banh Mi sandwiches around. Very authentic. Ken recommended once to get a side of broth to dip it in (kind of like a Vietnamese French Dip). Sooo good! The sandwich is just the way a Banh Mi should be. Nice and crispy outside, yet soft bread. Very flavorful pork. It's such a perfect sandwich and a great price! Their Pho is also one of the best I've had. They introduced tacos recently and I tried the short rib taco. It was pretty good, but nothing compares to the Banh Mi. Seriously, you have to try it!

Braised beef shortrib tacos and garlic rice was the bomb!
Lena N.

Dropped by on the way home from Reno and was very pleased with the food! The tacos and garlic rice is the bomb! We cleared every morsal off the plate! The King Pho noodles and broth was very good too! Gave alot of meat. Very satisfying! The owner was very nice and gave us a "Du Ma Pho King Good" sticker! Love it!

It was easy to spot from the road and it was an up front parking kinda day! As we walked in, the first thing you notice is the beautiful pink bosom tree. It so spacious and clean in here. There are tables with chairs, half booths, and booths available to sit in. The tables were clutter free of where we normally would see a chopstick/spoon/sauce caddie. Alley greeted us as we walked in and she let us sit wherever we wanted. I liked how there are big windows that allow a lot of light to shine in. The art in the walls was so beautiful. Even the bathroom was wall art (with a beautiful faucet)... and with the blossom tree inside the restaurant, it gave us a soothing mellow dining experience. We ordered the shrimp spring rolls for an appetizer to share. For our main entrée, we each ordered the XL bowl of Pho Dac Biet and a couple of waters to sip on. Our appetizer was out within a few minutes. Gorgeous plating and the peanut sauce is delicious. The spring rolls were good. I prefer them with a little more peanut sauce and ingredients in the roll. The ones we ate didn't have any coriander or mint. After a couple bites I looked for it and they weren't in there (those ingredients were listed on the menu for shrimp spring rolls) but they were still delicious and packed very full with lettuce and vermicelli noodles. For our Pho, first we sipped the broth... it was very good beef broth! The aroma isn't as strong as we are used to and the flavor not as strong... it was more delicate and light... it still tasted of perfection! I like how the thin rare steak on top was filet mignon. Very tender.... however, the broth was so hot, it cooked the steak almost all the way before it got to the table. Alley was kind enough to bring out a few extra slices of meat so that I could enjoy it the way I really like. Service was fantastic and you have to ask Alley about her adorable manager! See you guys soon (especially for a rainy day!)

I had a hunger for a sandwich, a Vietnamese one! Banh Mi. They had five basic types and I got the grilled pork. I tend to like a tofu, but that wasn't an option. We started with won tons for an appetizer. They were deep fried to a crisp. The sandwich was just OK, like everything else here. nothing special. If I go again I'll try a Pho or a Rice Dish. I suspect they're better.

Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing from the start. The woman helping me at the front was very rude during our interaction. Since it was my first time there, I was simply asking a few questions about the menu, but I felt unwelcome the entire time. Honestly, I considered leaving before ordering, but I still wanted to give the restaurant a chance because I was hoping to find a good new go-to place nearby. I ordered the lunch special Peking pork with fried rice, which also came with an egg roll. The Peking pork had very little actual meat and was mostly thick fried breading. Because of the sauce, the breading became soggy and lacked texture and flavor. The broccoli on the side was bland, and the fried rice also had very little flavor. I also ordered the combination chow mein, which was probably the best part of the meal. The portion size was decent, although the noodles seemed slightly undercooked. For the two dishes, the total came out to around $38, which felt overpriced, especially for lunch specials and the quality of the food. On a positive note, the inside of the restaurant looked clean and had a nice atmosphere. There were several employees working, so I can't speak for everyone there, but the customer service I personally received at the front was not pleasant. Overall, I would not recommend this place based on my experience. The customer service was poor, and the food was below average.
