    pho bowl and fries!!
    Anja V.

First time having pho and it did not disappoint!! So delicious and I am literally counting the minutes until I get the chance to go again. The service was also great, there was a little bit of a wait but that's not a problem when there's stores right around the area to spend your time in. Food came out efficiently and there wasn't anything to complain about! The inside was also super cute and it seemed like a great place to get food with friends or family.

The food was a major letdown; there was very little meat in the pho and the broth lacked flavor. Beyond that, the service was horrible. Our server was incredibly rude, never followed up on our meal, and didn't bother to refill our water once. Definitely not coming back.

Decided to give Pho Luca another chance, this time dining in. First impressions: limited seating available and no designated waiting area, so if you're waiting for a table, you have to awkwardly stand in the middle of the restaurant. We ended up sitting at the bar, even though we didn't order any drinks. It wasn't a problem, though--they had Mean Girls playing on the tele, so it was more than fine. Now, for the food: we ordered both gluten free spring rolls and fried spring rolls. The GF ones were pretty good. The pho was also solid--slightly on the sweeter side, but great portions and plenty of protein.

I think this was some of the best pho I've ever eaten in Richmond. The food was tasty and the service was prompt. The cuisine was excellent. I will most certainly be a repeat buyer. I enjoy the interior décor and the quirky views they created, and the atmosphere is really pleasant.

I'm glad I tried Pho Luca finally! Walked past it enough times and had it on my list long enough - one major downside is getting a table here is tough, super small interior with limited seating options especially for big parties but delicious and worth the wait if you're willing! The Spring Roll appetizer was delicious - I would be lying if I said I didn't literally take a spoon to the sauce bowl after and eat it alone in all its glory. The Regular Chicken Pho was pretty solid - be warned if you order the large bowl, as they are truly ENORMOUS! I've definitely had better Pho in my lifetime, but can't say I walked away from here disappointed!

I'm sorry I had not been here earlier. My sister recommended we meet up for dinner and our table grew to double the number with out of town family visiting. That said, staff was super accommodating and so pleasant. Throughout the meal the aromas of the spices and cooking filled the restaurant. I guess with the number of Vietnamese restaurants we have in the greater RVA area I wasn't expecting one of my favorites to be nestled in Carytown. From the drinks to the main dishes not one complaint only that the Pho was warm and delicious and the vermicelli was killer! The service elevated the flavors and the entire meal.

One of the top Vietnamese in Richmond. the food is pretty authentic. it might be hard to find parking becasue it's near the campus on Cary st. The chicken wing app comes in four pieces , good flavor but it would be great if they have some flavor options to add on such as spicy. the combination pho has good amount of meat and flavor is really good. if you are hungry you can get the big bowl but i think standard bowl is enough for one person if you order appetizers . Service is great. Our waitress is fast and super friendly, the space isn't big. It gets busy during lunch time.

After being in RVA from the SF Bay Area for almost 2 weeks, I had a strong craving for something hearty and warm, and pho sounded great to hit the spot. Going forward, my review will be biased since I'm from CA and I've had loads of pho from San Jose. Pho Luca's is located in Carytown next to lots of small restaurants and shops. We came during happy hour and was able to get $2 off cocktails and free refills on mocktails. Also I love how they have a drink named after Iroh from ATLA! We ordered spring rolls and 2 regular sized pho dac viet bowls. Spring rolls were great and fresh! Unfortunately I found the pho to be very mid. The portions were very skimpy, the meat slices and cuts were great but the noodle portion was SO small that we finished our bowls within minutes. I was still hungry after eating my bowl. :/ the broth was okay, but it was also very dark and tasted a bit off. I was pretty disappointed to see that they didn't include tripe with pho dac biet. It did hit the spot but I felt like something was missing. I was mostly upset how it costed $14 for a regular bowl and how the portions were so stingy. Drinks were great, honestly I would just come here for the happy hour. I ordered the Thaichata, it's Thai tea with rumchata added and it was delicious! Service is great and friendly here, they came frequent to refill our waters.

Tasty, but fatty brisket. I think not enough noodles for the price. Great service and cute spot, but very small! Might be a wait!

I swear this place tastes like home! Not only does their beef pho rival most pho spots in Richmond - their service is phenomenal. They're positive and incredibly hard working. Whether we're dining in or taking out - their quality has never wavered for me. Thank you Pho Luca for your hospitality - it doesn't go unnoticed

The most delicious Vietnamese pho I have ever eaten,i ordered a dark chicken pho and a ice tea i love it

Dark broth. Tastes funky too much star anise. Little amount of noodle and beef. Overpriced!
    MDlrPalate N.

Ambiance is fine, music too loud. Seems to serve younger crowd. Service is fine, friendly. Food: 1 star but I give additional star for ambiance and service. Same very little amount of noodle between regular and large size. Shockingly little amount of noodle where I can scoop everything up in 1 shot with the chopsticks. Taste: oh boy, proper pho broth is an art. Chef needs to review his recipe. Way too much star anise is an offense to the palate and nose. Not enough cinnamon will not make your broth sing either. Conclusion: taste is imbalance, strong star anise fragrance, broth too dark as if it was cooked with the lid closed. Possibly top 3 worst pho I have ever eaten in my life. No Asian eating here so that I should also be the sign but we were passing by and didn't know any better.

The menu has so many tempting options that it was hard to choose, but we both landed on the Hot Chicken Sandwich with cayenne butter--and we're glad we did. It had the perfect amount of heat: enough to bring some spice without overpowering the flavor. On the side, I ordered the green beans after our bartender/server highly recommended them. Normally, green beans wouldn't be my first choice, but they were seasoned perfectly and ended up being one of the biggest surprises of the meal. My partner chose the mac and cheese, which was the superior side (although both were excellent). The service was friendly, attentive, and genuine throughout the evening. Despite arriving on a Friday night without a reservation, we had no trouble getting a table. They only accept reservations for parties of 5-8, so I'm glad we decided to take our chances. One of my favorite parts of the evening was chatting with another guest at the bar. He and his wife shared several entrées with their young son, and they couldn't stop raving about the short ribs--which their son happily claimed for himself by the end of the meal! They also highly recommended the salmon, so we've already got ideas for our next visit. The only real downside has nothing to do with the restaurant itself: parking in Scott's Addition can be a challenge. I'd recommend allowing yourself some extra time to find a spot or, even better, taking a rideshare so you can start enjoying your evening right away. Lunch. Supper! has earned its reputation as a longtime Richmond favorite. Great food, excellent service, and a relaxed atmosphere make this an easy five-star recommendation. We'll definitely be back.

The meat was melt in your mouth tender and every bite contained components of the sandwich, rather than the usual wrestling match of sliced meat in your mouth. The service was meh. The space is huge for a walking-mall restaurant, with several dozen tables and booths. Music is nice background not overly loud. Service was absolutely excellent and food came out within minutes. Empty dishes picked up within seconds. We ordered an appetizer of crab rangoon. It came to us hot and tasty but to be honest it had little to no fake crab in it. That was a little disappointing. For our mains I had chicken stir fried noodles and pork soup dumplings. When it was put in front of me I thought the noodles looked like a smallish portion but this turned out not to be the case -- the dish was more than adequate and very nicely composed. I enjoyed every bit of it but barely finished it. The soup dumplings were umami-on-a-spoon. Served in a steam basket, these were very warm and the broth inside was just perfect. If they aren't part of the decor, it was a treat nonetheless. We stepped inside from the rain with a parking spot very near the door. I snapped a pic on the way in to capture it's essence. There were two open seats at the bar as well; might come in handy some other rainy Thursday night. The server, Murphy M., judging by the receipt, who helped my partner and I with our order, was a gracious host and incredibly well-practiced. It was a master class in serving, made effortless by him. He could not have been more accommodating, as we saw him appear inevitably at the exact right moments. Our server offered us bread and oil before the appetizer. The bread here is made fresh daily. It was so soft, I could not tell the difference from store bought. The food was exquisitely well prepared, the chefs and kitchen staff are immensely skilled. The appetizer was presented to us within a relatively short amount of time. We had time for a short discussion before the it arrived. The Tiropita was described as "four pieces of heaven." Accurate. The phyllo was thin and crisp, and the feta was creamy and delicious. I was careful not to bite too hard and ruin my pants. I had the Kotopoulo, which is a feta-brined oven-baked chicken with lemon and herbs served with lemon potatoes. The dish was cooked to perfection. The cooked potatoes were exactly as I like them, soft yet held their shape. It was an excellent meal, if a bit unwieldy (it's like half a rotisserie chicken, basically). My partner had the Hilopites, an egg noodle dish with giant beans, pine nuts, kalamata olives, cherry tomatoes, and feta, in a creamy, savory sauce that I couldn't begin to describe with mere words. The meals were both stunning, made unclear by my disastrous photography. All that being said, I did not really enjoy my meal as I was expecting. Maybe it's me, maybe it's today, or maybe the flavors simply weren't what I am accustomed to with the dozens of Greek restaurants from my past. I'm uncertain, and that's okay sometimes.
