Got takeout from here about a year ago and we STILL talk about it. Went again today and dined in…read moreand the food was as delicious as we remembered it, if not even better. The Thai food here SLAPS! The dining area is fairly small, maybe about 10-12 tables, can see it filling up pretty quickly. Our server was super friendly and attentive (forgot her name) and was so nice to our noisy toddler haha. Food came out at pretty good pace and app, entrees and food didn't all come out at the same time which was nice. You HAVE to get their Thai sausage appetizer - If they made this an entree, I would get it every single time. The sausage is perfectly balanced with lean and fat and packed full of Thai flavor and spices. For my entree I got the Thai fried rice with chicken and this portion is HUGE, was able to take some home and easily serve it as another meal. The fried rice was so tasty and fried chicken was perfectly fried and came with a nice sweet and sour sauce too. My wife loved the pad se ew and got to take home her food as well. If this place was closer to us, it would be not good for our wallets. If you want delicious and authentic Thai food, look no further than Yak Yai!

Solid vegan options, hip atmosphere, great service!…read more The vegan bento box for $22 was SO MUCH FOOD: miso soup, ginger salad, a tonnnn of fried tofu, rice, veggies, 3 dumplings, and a vegan sushi roll! We also got the fried tofu appetizer and edamame and we now have so many leftovers! Only 2 complaints: * so maddeningly loud in there (next time I will try to make a reservation for outside) * they should have a few more/cooler vegan sushi rolls

The parking was hit or miss. We got a reasonable spot nearby, but your mileage may vary…read more Walking into the restaurant, we noticed a wide selection of drinks on order. We stuck to water, but they have cocktails of all calibers here. The temperature inside was chilly, and I wished I'd brought a sweater or jacket. I'm sure others feel differently, though, I'm not a fan of the cold. I ordered sushi, including the wonder woman, sweet potato, and spicy tuna. They were all tasty, though spicy tuna as always remains my favorite. My partner ordered the orange chicken because she doesn't care for sushi, but it was pretty fantastic as well. I tried a sample of the chicken and the salad, and both were excellent. Our server was kind and provided excellent service. She never lingered, and continued working diligently all evening. The experience overall was majorly positive, and I would recommend to any who are looking for a solid Asian-fusion spot. I'd give five stars if the sushi was better. I found it to be satisfactory but nothing special, unfortunately.

As a self-proclaimed foodie and someone who runs their own food business, I'll admit my standards…read moreare high. To me, a great presentation and a beautiful atmosphere are wonderful, but at the end of the day? Nothing can replace pure, authentic flavor. Well, Fat Dragon in Virginia absolutely blew me away. From the second we walked in, the experience was seamless. We had a party of eight with no reservation, and they sat us immediately. The ambiance was great, the portions were incredibly generous, and the staff was friendly, attentive, and completely on top of their game. Drinks arrived fast, and the entire meal flowed beautifully without a single hitch. But let's get to the real highlight of the night: the Tsingtao beer-battered mushrooms. Oh my goodness, they were out of this world! Perfectly fried and crispy on the outside, incredibly juicy on the inside, and dusted with a spicy Sichuan cloud that made them completely irresistible. They were so good that even my father--who isn't a mushroom lover at all--couldn't stop eating them! For my main course, I had the Fei Lone steak, and it was absolutely sublime. Tender, perfectly prepared, and packed with flavor. If you appreciate amazing service, a great vibe, and food that actually delivers on taste, do yourself a favor and check out Fat Dragon. I'll definitely be thinking about those mushrooms for a long time!

The entryway is interesting and provides some shelter from the rain, allowing you to manage your umbrella before entering. We were seated within seconds, and our server, Liza, came by very promptly with some water for our table. I felt slightly anxious at first, being that we were in a cozy two-top amongst the fray, but it subsided quickly because everyone was respectful and reasonably quiet. We ordered the veggie spring rolls to start, and I had the Chinatown Ramen, and my partner had the Chicken Fried Noodles. The appetizer was hot, savory, and spicy with the duck sauce and hot mustard mixture. If you like milder sauce, do not mix it. The entrees came out within five or so minutes of the appetizers, which seemed quick for a busy night. The ramen was spicy, hot, and filling. I was only able to finish about half. We will be enjoying those leftovers tonight. My partner said that her noodles and chicken were well-seasoned and delicious, too. Looking around the restaurant, it is clear that they support the local LGBTQ+ community, and it is even labeled as a Safe Space on the beautifully manicured, makeshift chalkboard/menu/posting board. The clientele and staff alike seemed warm and kind, based solely on limited interactions and observation on my part. If you are looking for a traditional American-Chinese food restaurant (think buffet-style items), this is likely not the place for you. There were no mishaps or snafus with our orders. Liza performed her duties well, and I can surely recommend this restaurant to anyone who doesn't mind a mix of Japanese and Chinese cuisine.

We started off with some fried tofu (not pictured) and followed up with two specialty rolls. For two people, this was plenty to fill us up. The Monster roll is pretty filling with its size, tuna, and a piece of tempura. The roll on the left (forgot the name), was a nice balance to the heavier Monster roll. I thoroughly enjoyed the specialty rolls! Service was great! We were running behind our reservation time and I called to let them know. We still got our table when we arrived! They told us about the happy hour and we got some drinks and an appetizer. Water was always refilled. Ambiance is low key. Great for catching up with friends and families. Bathrooms had cool, neon lighting like you're at the club. Would definitely come back (which I did)!

Yume Roll and Jeff roll on bogo. They were actually a bit smaller than I expected. I ate all 4 rolls in one sitting. Some of the roll pieces were kind of thin but it was worth it with the bogo deal. Still pretty good flavor. I liked the Jeff roll with tuna, it seemed like a pretty thin topping and had a nice little kick from the jalapeño. The Yume roll had good flavor but it felt like the filling with the crunch was a lot of the filling which made it a little bland, nice crunch and simple flavors.
