Pho Rare Beef Loin NY - To Go
    Maggie A.

Doordashed the Rare Beef Steak Pho - I live near Westwood and it was right after work so it took about 45 minutes. Quickly reheated up the broth in a pot since it had cooled down a bit after travel. Overall delicious and the broth was great! A little salty but the noodles, veggies, and noodles helped balance it out. Kept a little for leftovers and those help up well too! Doordash itself was great and came a lot sooner than anticipated. The store packaged it really well with a sticker/staple to keep everything secure - nothing spilled on the way over.

I loved the decor and vibe of this place. Very Venice beach but it's technically in Marina Del Rey. The waitress was very attentive and accommodating although I didn't need much. I went in about 7 pm and it wasn't busy. Just a few people there. The food was tasty. Not out of this world but average for a pho spot. Would I go back? Probably yes, if I couldn't find another spot. Pricey for a pho spot.

Expensive for small portions of food and little amount of meat , I ordered the combination pho which is cost me more than 28$ and there was 18% service added already not including the tips!! And i still feels hungry! like I wasted my money to leave unhappy and end up ordering something else from another place!!

I have a simple test for pho. Once I try it somewhere, I observe my reaction every time I drive by. If i'm salivating, or suddenly craving it, then it's a hit, and a must try. If I'm not dripping saliva like a French Mastiff, then it's a pass. Pho MDR? Yeah... I crave it almost every time. The only thing stopping me from pulling over constantly is the parking situation--if there's not a spot out front, I keep going. (L.A. problems.) In the last month, I've been here six times. That should tell you everything. My go-to? The pho with rare beef loin. Simple, consistent, absolutely delicious. The broth is the star--rich and savory without being oily or heavy. Unlike a lot of pho joints where your bowl looks like it's been dunked in a fryer, this one's clean, comforting, and just hits the spot. It's reliable, dependable, and unlike my dating life... predictable. My other staple here? The Pad See Ew. It's a family favorite, and while not every pho spot nails it, this one does. It has that nostalgic street vendor flavor from the motherland. One bite, and I'm in Southeast Asia. Dessert? Mango sticky rice. Yes, yes--I know it's more Thai than Vietnamese. But do I care? No. Why? Because it's food porn, plain and simple.

Service 4.6/5 Food 4.1/5 Value 4.25/5 A cute little spot right on Washington boulevard, which makes it really hard to park. I would suggest the neighborhoods for parking but pay attention to street signs! The food was pretty good. The most important thing for me in pho are the broth and meat. The broth was nice and flavorful, and I could definitely see myself drinking every bit of the soup. In my opinion however, there was not much meat, especially since they give you a huge bowl (and charge accordingly as well). At $18, I would expect just a bit more meat to where I didn't run out within the first couple bites. Otherwise, I love the vibe of the restaurant; it's definitely a cute date spot!

10/10 always. Not only is the pho amazing, but so is everything else. The pad see ew is some of the best around it's so flavorful. All of the apps are amazing too. The woman who runs the place (maybe the owner) is really sweet. Also love the vibes inside. Frequent customer and will continue to be!

Love their MDR crispy wings. I don't like "soggy" wings and they are crispy and hot just right! Also nice bowl portion of PHO! The indoor vibe is kinda funky like with the red lighting and the art, the club music, street vibes etc. They also have mango rice that's good. Parking is on the street or on the side if you have it. Limited spots. About 8 tables inside so it's not big. 6 (four tops) and 2 (2 tops). There is a handicap ramp on the side entrance which helps if you have mobility challenges. The main front entrance has a high step (one step) and is narrow to get in. Definitely a "neighborhood". Mostly locals here. Also tried their Spicy Basil Fried Rice with Garlic Beef. One thing to note, no outside food or drink and no public restrooms. They also automatically add the tip to the bill at 18% and for parties 6+ is 20%. None of it is retained by the owner, 100% service charge goes to the staff working.

My friend and I decided to find a Vietnamese place to enjoy on a chilly day when I came across Pho MDR. I loved how cute it was from the outside, so we decided to give it a try. My first impressions were based off of how cute and fun the interior was. Definitely a warm and cozy vibe that my friend and I very much enjoyed. The dining area was a bit small, but we went later in the evening so we had no problem finding a table to dine at. For my beverage, I decided to order a Vietnamese Coffee as it's one of my all time favorite drinks to order at Vietnamese restaurants. Unfortunately, this was probably the worst one I've had. The coffee came with a hugeee amount of condensed milk on the clustered bottom so I made sure to shake it vigorously. Even mixed, it was way too sweet with almost no coffee flavor at all. I asked for more coffee on the side so I can balance it out but that didn't help, it was undrinkable. I didn't want to make a fuss so I just left it on the table and paid for it when it was time to leave. When it came to the dishes themselves, they were actually really flavorful and delicious. My friend ordered pho and she did enjoy it. I loved my noodles as well as they were well cooked and had nice flavor depth to it. In terms of service, this is where it fell quite short for me. My friend and I weren't too pleased that our appetizer came out the same time as our food, otherwise, we wouldn't have ordered it. It was very delicious nonetheless, but kind of a waste in this scenario. They also were out of mangos so we couldn't order dessert. Furthermore, the employee who picked up our check with our cards, took a significant amount of time to run them. She also ran the cards multiple times to the point where my card wouldn't work and my friend got multiple charges on her card. These extra charges were eventually canceled, but I have no idea what the cause of this was. We must've waited 10-15 minutes just to get our cards back. Additionally, a 18% service charge got added to our bill. Could be the reason why our service wasn't quite good, considering they get automatic 18% onto every bill. My friend and I weren't too pleased with this either. Overall, I loved the atmosphere and the quality of the food but everything else was quite disappointing. I don't believe my friend and I will return.

Phi MDR is a very cute and unassuming hole in the wall pho place. There are only street spaces so parking might be a bit of a challenge at certain times of the day. The inside of the place is small and has some themed pho & Vietnamese food art painted on the wall, which is a nice touch. The service was swift and the portions were ample. We ordered the beef loin pho & chicken pho as well as the egg rolls with pork. All the great flavors were there- the beef was tender, and the broth was nice and hot. We thought the pork spring rolls were pretty great too. We left very full and satiated, it definitely hit the spot!

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful -- especially for an indecisive person like me -- pointing out what's popular, what they personally like, and what they recommend. I chose to go the "build your own" route and landed on: 1. Base: Chili Garlic 2. Noodles: Yakisoba 3. Protein: Fire-grilled chicken 4. Toppings: Carrots, cabbage, red peppers, sesame seeds, crunchy chili garlic The portions are solid -- I easily got two meals out of one bowl. Since I like spice, they gave me a side of their spicy sauce, which added both sweetness and heat. With all the sauce, it was definitely a bit messy, but the flavor was bold and the kick was real. The noodles and chicken were cooked well, though next time I might choose something a little less intense so I can better appreciate all the ingredients. With that much heat and garlic, some of the other flavors got lost. All in all, lunch for about $25 on Abbot Kinney is a great deal, and I'll definitely be back to try more combinations!

I ordered the Spicy Italian pizza, the oyster mushroom "calamari," and a glass of wine, and every single bite was delicious. That pizza though... It was hands-down the star of the meal. Crispy crust, packed with flavor, and honestly one of those pizzas I'd happily drive back to Venice just to eat again. The oyster mushroom "calamari" was also surprisingly convincing. Crispy, flavorful, and a really fun twist on a classic appetizer. And here's the real review: I took the leftover pizza home for my parents, and we all know leftover pizza can be hit or miss. It was relatively empty when we got there so we were seated right away and placed our orders with a QR code. Our server was there by herself around 5:30 but the food was prompt with coming out. Portions were HUGE to be honest for the price relative to what you usually expect these days in the LA. - Popcorn chicken: came out piping hot and freshly fried, nice aroma from the fried basil. Solid spot if you're craving Chinese popcorn chicken - Woodear: surprisingly had a nice spicy kick from the chilies, no complaints! - Beef noodle soup with spicy: only a very subtle mala flavor but broth was beefy, noodles had great texture. Went early to see if anything opened or if walk-in would be faster, surprisingly they actually had something come available sooner. We opted to sit inside and loved the ambiance. Food - amazing! I read reviews first and watched a couple IG videos so I knew a general idea of what we wanted to order. Glad the server suggested the orange chicken over the walnut shrimp when we were debating it. Chil wontons, absolutely a must get, different from DTF, not crazy spicy but full of flavor and richness. XO fatty noodles, perfect chewiness on the rolled noodles and the flavors were well balanced, we enjoyed them with a little chili paste and the orange chicken as the protein. Orange chicken, soooo much more flavorful than your average Panda Express orange chicken, good sized nuggets of chicken that were crispy and tender at the same time, and the zest livened it up. BBQ pork shank, our server did warn us it's not the easiest to eat, but it's worth it, hard to see cutting it off the bone because it was so dimly lite in the restaurant and your hands will get sticky but once you get chunks off the bone and your bao bun built it's delicious especially when you get the lacquered crispy skin yummm! Only skip for the night was the mango sticky rice. Much rather would've spend $8 on something else. The mango was tart/sour. The sticky rice was too wet and mushy. It was a pass for both of us.
