A surprising gem in a windward strip mall. It is not often that you get such attentive service in a small Vietnamese restaurant. Many places will try and accommodate dietary needs but let's face it, sometimes you place your order and are caught off guard with what arrives; not here. The service staff go out of their way to explain the ingredients and preparation of their offerings to you. After all, not all restaurants use the same nomenclature' "traditional prawn salad rolls" for some are just "summer rolls" to another. The result is a wonderful dining experience. read more

Pho My Vi is one of my favorite restaurants on the Windward side. The wait staff is very friendly and efficient. I never have to sit and wait too long for my order. Their egg noodles and pho are excellent in the fall when the weather on the Windward side is cool and rainy. read more

First time here and very impressed. We all ordered small pho. One w brisket and tendon, one w meat balls and beef, one a combo of everything. We all raved the taste was great, portion size perfect, and service was excellent. A definite repeat! read more

Worst pho in Kaneohe. Possibly, worst I've ever had. I went in about quarter to 8. Only two tables other than myself. I should have known it wasn't going to be good upon walking through the door. The restaurant didn't have that familiar aroma of pho in the air. I placed my order and within 10 minutes I was served. Although the portions were good, the combination pho lacked flavor. I eat pho very regularly (at least 3 times a week) and judge pho primarily on its broth. The broth was very oily and didn't have enough oomph for my taste. I attempted to add various sauces to the pho, but it didn't help. Also, the onions and jalepenos didn't have a lot of flavor hinting to me they weren't fresh. I was so dissatisfied with my pho that I had to go to Panda Express next door to get some hot and sour soup to get something more filling. You won't find me here again. I'll continue to get my pho fix at Little Saigon at Windward City Shopping Center. read more

I think this place is the best Vietnamese food you'll find on the Windward side. Food is tasty without being salty, generous portions, affordable, clean and very classy. Winnas!!! Last week I had an amazing Vietnamese-style chicken curry which came loaded with delicious veggies such as cauliflower, kabocha pumpkin, and broccoli (if I remember correctly, or some sort of green) and your typical onion, carrot and chicken, of course. LOVED the coconut milk base and delicious flavor. This is NOT like your typical Vietnamese restaurant. They have strange and wonderful things. Today I had braised duck leg soup with goji berries, tangerine peel, bok choy, bean sprouts and shiitake mushrooms. Can you beat that? Plenty of falling off the bone duck meat and noodles to soak up the delicious broth. Cost? less than $9.50 each. read more

I really enjoy their wonton soup with extra veggies. They make the wontons themselves with chicken & shitake mushrooms & when I add the extra veggies it's an adequate lunch for me. I've also tried their pho, which both my hubby & I enjoyed - not as big as some places, but the broth was better executed I think. Spring rolls are good but the order could be larger (only 2 rolls/order). I like their curries too, just a bit different than I've had anywhere else. I think it's a bit of a fusion place, so sometimes it's not clear exactly what nationality the dish is, but as long as it's tasty I don't care. read more

My wife and I have been coming here for years and we really love the place. Excellent food, with wonderful and friendly service from Hao. I really like that they have table cloths that they cover with glass, which makes it a bit more upscale than most small restaurants. I always get the Pho with meatballs and my wife gets one of the combo platters. Plenty of parking and across the street from Windward Mall. It's a winner. read more

We've dined-in 3 times and ordered take-out 5 times over the last 3 months -- everyone at Pho My Vi is consistently very pleasant, friendly, and attentive -- even on the phone! The food is excellent! My husband and I agree that this is the best Pho and the best Vietnamese restaurant island-wide.... their vegetables are consistently so crisp and fresh (never wilted or waterlogged like at other restaurants), no two dishes tastes alike, the noodles both hot and cold are perfectly firm yet tender (not soggy or pasty or rubbery -- like they've been sitting -- as it can be at other restaurants) and everything we've tried at Pho My Vi is always exceedingly better and tastier than any other Vietnamese restaurant on Oahu (we've been to all of them across the island in recent years -- my husband could eat Pho every day)... Pho My Vi = delicious! Pho My Vi is our new favorite -- we wish we'd found this restaurant sooner! My husband's favorite is Combination Pho meat-outside (he always has to order that for himself); we've enjoyed their Spring Rolls, Summer Rolls, the curry dishes, the rice plates, papaya salad... we have never been disappointed and are always so glad to dine in or order take-out! We find the portion sizing perfect, the pricing excellent (especially given the excellence of the food quality), and we are also always surprised by how fast we are served (we have never had any wait to remark on or complain about -- and certainly not a 20 minute wait -- as a previous yelper mentioned experiencing)... The dining room is immaculate -- everything is so clean and pretty, too! We LOVE Pho My Vi so much, that even when we are in Honolulu, and hungry, we will drive past hundreds of other restaurants, and drive past the dozens of Pho places we know from University to downtown, and we will wait till we get home to Kaneohe to go to Pho My Vi (a 15 minute drive beyond where we live in Kaneohe -- it is not an on-the-way-home-stop for us)! To think we used to leave Kaneohe & we'd drive all the way to Aiea, or Pearl City, or Honolulu for Pho -- never again! Seriously, Pho My Vi is so awesome -- if you don't reside in Kaneohe, don't let the Kaneohe location stop you from trying it, you won't be sorry & you'll be glad you did! read more
