Bun Dac Biet (combo noodle), Fried Spring Roll, Shrimp Spring Rolls
    Yia-Ming L.

Great spot to go if you're craving pho or Vietnamese food. Service was great. Our waiter checked on us multiple times throughout our time and filled our water often. My go-to is usually the Pho Viet Dac Biet, (pho deluxe with slice of eye round steak, well-done flank, fat brisket, tender and tripe). So good. They are generous with how much meat they give as well! You got a lot! Highly recommend the spring rolls too! It's fried to crispy perfection. Highly recommend eating it while it's hot/warm. The most recent time I went, I wanted to try something different so I got the Bun Dac Biet, dried rice noodles with pork floss, grill pork chop, sausage, spring rolls, and pickled veggies. This one does not come with a broth but you can pour prepped fish sauce over it to add some extra flavor. Tip for first-timers, you have to go to the cash register in the back to pay once you are done. Just tell them your table number (it's labels on your table or the wall) and they'll ring you up.

    Hair in my feud

Hair is everywhere on all the food they need to wear hairnet or a mask or tie their hair and wear a hairnet because there is hair everywhere is probably worse in the kitchen. If you see her in the food, there's probably hair all over the counter and floor I hope it is not dog or animal hair

It was my first time at this restaurant. My family and I arrived at this location in the afternoon. The parking lot is large. The staff is friendly and quick. I had special pho and Vietnamese iced coffee. The broth was delicious and flavorful. The meats were tender and fresh. I loved the coffee with condensed milk. My daughter had mi xao gion. She said the fried noodle was not fresh to achieve her expectation. I will definitely come back in the future.

Babe and I are forever loyal to this place! They have come through for us on many occasions. From super bowl party trays to last minute Christmas trays full of crispy flavorful summer rolls. Not only is their catering food fantastic and affordable but they also are super consistent with their delectable bahn mi's! #dontsleep

    Traditional beef pho

There are not that many options in the Lower NE for good Pho but out of all the places, I pick this one. Stick to the traditional beef pho; the broth is good and the meats taste fresh. Instead of ordering the pork and summer roll, order the BBQ pork summer roll-it is Amazing! Also, the rice and vermicelli dishes are good too! Try the Banh Mi to go; it's good and affordable! One last advice- I would Not order the seafood pho or Vietnamese iced coffee. The seafood pho is very very very bland! And the Vietnam iced coffee tastes like mocha or chocolate.

Hu tieu xao hit ga ($11), or thick stir-fried rice noodles with chicken and veggies + thai iced tea ($4) in the background

Their other dishes besides pho is amazing! My rice noodles were very soft but still chewy. The thai iced tea is so good! The chicken is deliciously cooked with an awesome sweet & savory sauce! The star meal was my mom's plate of broken rice with grilled pork chops and tofu skin. The tofu skin was especially good! I could eat a whole plate of it as its own meal, it's very addicting. It's a shrimp/pork kind of sausage inside that has tons of flavor, plus a very crispy and deliciously fried tofu wrapped around it. Would love to know how you guys made it, it's so yummy!

No frills authentic Vietnamese cuisine The fried rice is soooo good here. Also there is off menu fried pork belly. SO GOOD

Make sure you try M Qung! It's very flavorful and components blend into each other surprisingly naturally! Also this is one of the few places that offer Cháo lòng tit canh with such authentic and home-like taste! It would be best when you feel a little under the weather Waiters and owners of Pho Viet are really friendly and helpful. They also have some pre-made food for you to make your own Viet dish when you dont feel like hiking up to their place :P

    Big bowl of Pho

This place is not a bad spot for those looking for a pho fix. I actually never heard of it until now. The pho was decent. The menu doesn't state that there is more than one bowl size, but the pho does come in a small/large size. Pho broth has a strong hint of star anise in it, which I like. However, due to the increased price of lime this season, the citrus garnish offered here is lemon instead. (One of many pho restaurants that is doing this substitute... boo). Pho wasn't too oily and they were not cheap on the noodles! The spring rolls were also good, and the nuoc mam that accompanied it went well with it. Service was a little slow - waiter forgot my drink, even though he brought everyone else's out. But you don't come to a Viet place like this expecting stellar service. Decent meal, good price, and quickness is all you can ask for, and Pho Viet delivers. And also, the iced Vietnamese coffee was on the sweet side for me, not a fan.

But they have since sold and under new management. Decades later I feel the urge to revisit and it's smaller than I remember. I'll chalk it up to being a small kid memory. The decor is indeed dated and needing a lot of tlc. I heard the food was still good so what the heck let's give it a try. The new owners/workers are definitely not Vietnamese. The menu is huge and included a lot of non Vietnamese dishes. We ordered 2 bowls of noodles and they are huge portions. At first glance they are a watery bowl of rice noodles. I was not impressed. But upon my first sip of the soup I was pleasantly surprised. All that flavor was still there. (They must've also inherited the recipes from the previous owners) Although the quality of meat and veggies were not cooked with the broth they still managed to maintain the flavors so I'm impressed. The beef was tough and blocky so were the carrots. I couldn't finish my portion so I took it home and to my mistake the noodles did not travel well. They became a mushy mess. So I'm very torn. I very much enjoyed all the flavors but the quality was a bit disappointing.

The inside is cute & modern with a decent amount of seating and big windows that bring in a lot of natural light. We ordered the pate chaud and summer rolls to start. The pate chaud is a dish that we haven't tried before. It felt a little small for $11 (basically the size of a pop tart) but the flavor was delicious. The puff pastry outside was buttery and soft while the inside was very savory and meaty. I would've love this even more if the puff pastry was crispy. Summer rolls were some of the better ones I've had. The roll was packed really well. Dense, tightly rolled, good meat to noodle to veggie ratio. Nothing worse than a limp floppy summer roll with bad ratio distribution. I would definitely get another order of these! Pho itself was pricey. But kinda par for the course considering the area. Broth was light but not in a bad way. Typically I prefer a slightly more flavorful fatty broth but this still hit the spot. Meat and noodle portions were generous and noodle texture was perfect.

The biggest surprise was the tái (eye-round steak), yet still retaining that pleasantly chewy texture of undercooked beef; the gầu (fat brisket) was thick and crisp, fragrant but not greasy--who would have thought I'd find brisket fat here? This showed the restaurant's precise control over the broth temperature and the thickness of the beef. Almost all phở restaurants claim to offer authentic raw beef or various cuts of beef, but very few can truly make customers feel the difference. The restaurant's decor is simple but spacious and clean; the service is average, but very efficient. Efficiency is essential for phở, otherwise the beef would be overcooked in the hot broth. After all, the essence of a restaurant is food, and for such affordable ones, it's gratifying to see them spend most of their costs on the food itself.
