Fast forward to 7 pm the food isn't ready, they charged me for 2 grilled chicken 1 chicken pho but gave me grilled PORK instead which my husband cannot have due to to dietary restrictions. This is one of my favorite Pho restaurants in North NJ. The staff is super friendly and the service is wonderful. There is a reason why they attract such a diverse crowd. My go to appetizer is the Grilled squid which is paired with their sweet sauce. The saltiness and sweetness is amazing. Their Pho broth is so rich!!! I HIGHLY recommend their Oxtail Pho as they are one of a few locations to offer this. The meat falls off the bone and the flavor of the oxtail in the broth is HEAVENLY...DIVINE...SPECTACULAR! My experience wasn't very pleasant. We were seated within minutes, but then waited for over 20 minutes for someone to come to the table and take our order. While we were waiting we overhead some staff saying they were out of Beef Broth, the main component of Pho, and this is a Pho restaurant! Incredible food! If you are a Pho fiend like I am this is a must stop. Forget all the other places along 46, this is by far the best. The owner came over to our table and introduced himself along with offering any help in choosing menu items if we are stuck or not sure what to get. I already had my mind locked into a few things but I wanted to see what he would suggest. We ended up with summer rolls and bao buns to start and then moved on to a delicious A9 pho with beef broth. All the food came out promptly and piping hot. Broth on the pho was incredible, very rich and complex. The owner told us it takes 12 hours for the broth to be made WOW!! It shows how much effort and pride he takes in his food! The rest of the meal was very enjoyable and when it came time to get the check, it was quick and easy. We haven't visited Pho Ninh Kieu in a couple of years. Apparently, the place changed hands shortly after our last visit. New ownership at established restaurants can go either way. Sometimes good, often bad. But this is one for the better. Pho Ninh Kieu was very good before. But it is even better now. The food is very fresh and incredibly fragrant. My son ordered the Ox tail pho which was extraordinary. Lite fragrant broth. Tender flavorful ox tails and tender rice noodles. Highly recommended. I myself had the mixed seafood stir fry. Sorry, not sure what the Vietnamese word is for stir fry. But is was delicious. Featuring shrimp, squid and fish bells flavored with lemon grass and chilis. I also recommend the hot tea. They have a private house blend of green tea that tastes like vanilla and coconut. But it doesn't have any vanilla or coconut in it? Crazy good. We ordered a couple apps that were great as well. The prices are very fair considering the excellent ingredients and preparation. I look forward to our next visit. read more

Not flashy but a decent spot for pho. It was cold out when we came, so if you're close to the door, you will feel a draft every time it opens. I had the XL House Pho, it was very good but it felt like it was the same amount of meat and veggies as my wife's regular size pho. The only difference was there were more broth, so it looked more. I can see why people complain about the service on other reviews here. However, service doesn't make it or break it for me- food does. I enjoyed the pho here. My bf and I both got the vegetarian pho, an order of veggie dumplings, and a Vietnamese iced coffee. The pho had good broth for sure. Plenty of vegetables and a nice sized bowl- good bang for your buck! The dumplings were OK. I wouldn't get them again. The coffee- strong and creamy like a traditional Vietnamese coffee. LOVE it. Service- slow, took a while to get water, forgot my coffee but like I said doesn't bother me as much as the food but I can see how this could be frustrating for others. Just had the most pleasant experience at this little charming restaurant! I had traditional chicken pho with beef broth and it was the best I have ever tasted! The broth had such depth and richness! I liked it so much I ended up finishing my meal, 3 of the 4 pork buns, and some of my wife's Pho. We also ordered 1 mango smoothie, 1 strawberry smooth, and 1 dorian smoothie. Finally, I had a chance to speak to the owner/cook who was really friendly. He explained that he personally cooks these Pho himself and it takes him many hours to do so. Presentation was very good and the taste was even better. I don't eat pork so I kind of picked around but the flavor was amazing. The pickled carrots and sauce inside was the best part. The bao buns were super soft and fluffy. I ordered the shrimp pho for dinner. The broth was pretty good. There were a decent amount of shrimp in there too. We were provided with the necessary fixings... we both kind of felt like they skimmed out of the amount of basil they provided but we were able to make do. I've been here a few times because of the convenience. However I can't seem to find a decent viet resturant in this area. My low stars for tonight's meal, the 3 shrimp in my seafood noodle soup was gross, I could taste the freezer burn on them. One shrimp ball split in half and two pieces of squid does not really qualify for a good bowl of pho. The chicken and veggie stir fry I also ordered was way too salty, I literally had to rinse it off in my noodle soup to eat. I'm still new to this pho-ny business (see what I did there). Yelp helped to guide me to this lovely, delicious place. This is one of those "I tried because of all the great reviews" and I was not disappointed. The meal started started with Thai Iced Tea, which I hate because I always finish it before my food comes out. No fault of theirs, I'm just weak. The sweet potato and shrimp cake was a piece of fried heaven. The sauce that accompanied it (I don't know what it was) was a perfect companion. My main was the shrimp pho. As I mentioned before, I'm fairly new to this pho thing, but it's the best I've had so far. I wasn't even hungry half way through but I couldn't stop myself. The staff were friendly, the establishment clean, and the decor pleasing. None were absolutely amazing but those things aren't my main purpose for eating out. Had lunch here a couple times and tried a few items off their menu. The summer rolls with shrimp paste, while large, were a bit flavorless. The vinegar-based sauce served with them was a necessity (or the sauces on the table) to add some kick. The bahn mi was the best item I had there, flavorful pork on a crusty baguette that was filled with condiments. It needed nothing to add to the very good preparation of the pork. For $6.95 it was larger than I expected and I would have this again. The seafood pho was bland and had a grand total of three shrimp, one piece of what tasted like conch and a small, round fish cake cut in half. The broth had no depth or flavor and needed the addition of the table side sauces to make it better. Service was a bit inattentive although their prices are fair. read more

Came here based on the abundance of great reviews and the food was a 4 out of 10. Ordered the spring rolls and there was something wrong with the shrimp. Had a very fishy smell to it. The pho which is normally very complex just tasted like salty broth with no other essence. The quality of the meat that was put into the broth was poor quality and the noodles were clumping. This restaurant has become our family's go to Pho place! Consistently top notch! My kid who can probably eat pho everyday even comes here on her own with her friends. Last night we had the fried calamari, fried spring rolls, pho (of course), B3 rice vermicelli with pork and spring rolls and banh mi. We tried the fried calamari for the first time and it was quite delicious with a thick batter that had a sweet sour glaze sauce. We ate in the restaurant so the calamari was hot and crispy and fresh out of the kitchen. Not sure if I'd get it to take out though. The other dishes were also great as always. But ultimately we come here for the pho which is always fantastic! If you don't like delicious pho, don't come here! I've been here multiple times and every time, I am greeted by a friendly face and seated almost immediately. I usually get the ox tail pho with extra vegetables. I appreciate whenever a restaurant lets you customize! I enjoy the flavor of the broth and the texture of the noodles is on point! They have that Q factor! I have also tried their pork buns and avocado shake. They are both delightful, but the pork buns aren't as amazing as the ones from my go-to-restaurants in NYC. The only let-down is that they forgot to bring me tea twice, but it's understandable as the food comes out fast and so when they peer over at me, they see I'm enjoying my meal with the default glass of water on the side... Everything tasted fresh and my experience has always been satisfactory. The environment is comfortable and I appreciate how they have TVs on both sides.
