I know there are not too many Vietnamese restaurants around the area, but I walked away disappointed. The spring rolls with pork and shrimp are delicious and fantastically wrapped. There was no fallout of lettuce and noodles! They provided two little bowls of the peanut sauce with diced peanuts and a squeeze of Sriracha. I ordered Bun Bo Hue with regular pho noodles, but I got thin Vermicelli noodles. It wasn't a big deal, but there were so little noodles! They do, however, give you a ton of meat. I had pig blood, pork hock, beef shank, and cha lua (Vietnamese sausage found in banh mi) in my bowl. Despite the fact that it looked super spicy and flavorful, I found the soup to be bland. I needed to add both Sriracha and oyster sauce to my bowl. I also ordered a Vietnamese iced coffee, which came with the filter! Super fresh! When I poured it into the cup, it only filled up 3/4 of the cup (which was already packed with ice). When I tried the coffee, it was really bitter. Had to ask for more condensed milk, but it was yummy. The service was really lacking. They were quick to take my order and give me my appetizer and food, but they never came back after that. I sat around for nearly twenty minutes before I realized I had to go up to the counter to pay. I even had to bring up my remaining spring rolls to get them to go. They just handed me a box. When I asked for more condensed milk, they looked at me like I was crazy. I don't know if they just don't know English well, or if they run their business this way, but I was stumped. For those who aren't from this area, they do not accept American Express! Bill came to ~$18, which I found it to be rather pricey for Vietnamese food! Oddly, I don't really like the atmosphere here. The lighting and seating arrangement don't feel very comfortable. I don't usually point out these kinds of things, but I feel strongly enough to do so! The area in general is not very safe. Not to mention, my Uber drivers had trouble finding this location when picking me up. Craving Pho, I searched for he best spot in my area and found this one. Saw so many other Pho restaurants a block away still on Beltline rd. So somehow I couldn't find this place since its in a big plaza... Area isn't the nicest. Food is great though, tried the chicken pho and Thai tea. Food was yummy and tea was well good. Service could be much better, a smile here or there would be nice. I asked for veggies like broccoli and carrots for my Pho and they brought me more string beans... So this was my Dad's exact review/convincing invite to me: "I know it's out of the way for you, but I think it's well worth it - their service is pretty typical for a hole-in-the-wall Viet restaurant (i.e., efficient, but not very friendly) , but IMO they have the best tasting broth I've ever had! ewww.... Do as I say and stay away. I believe it may be the worst vietnamese food i've tried since i've been here in the DFW area. From reading some of these previous reviews and many of them being positive, perhaps we came in on an 'off' day. If that was indeed the case, it was really, incredibly, 'off.' Came here the other week with a group. Ordered the pho with the flank and the tendon. I have grown fonder of tendon as the years pass, and so I almost always order tendon with some other groupings of meats in my pho. This one came out--I must say, I could hardly find any meat in my bowl of pho! I mean, after digging through the broth and the noodles, i finally found pieces of meat, but they were so small and so few, it was incredibly disappointing. And, not to mention, the broth was incredibly bland. It was obvious that they had not made much effort to make a tasty broth, but rather just threw in leftover bones and what not for a minuscule amount of time and thought it was fit to serve to people. And the noodles were all stuck together, I suppose it's because the noodles were old? But regardless, not cool, not cool at all. My friends were also pretty disappointed with their food as well. One ordered a vermicelli dish with pork, the pork being really dry and the noodles sticking together in an icky, sticky fashion. We were a large group and so we didn't want to cause too much of an inconvenience, but still--it was $8.50 poorly spent. Excellent pho in Dallas. I got the standard pho tai (#01 on their menu). The large is already a pretty good portion, but for $1, you can get the extra large if you're extremely hungry. The broth was very flavorful, but I never drink all of it for a fear of too much MSG at the bottom of the bowl. There is a good amount of beef in the bowl, and they give you a variety of raw vegetables like bean sprouts, jalapeños, cilantro, that you can throw into the soup. The thing that differentiates this place really is the quality of the broth, which is better than other pho places I've been to in Dallas. Don't be turned off by the cafeteria look of the place. The service is quick, but once they serve you, they will probably not return to your table. You go up to the counter at the back of the restaurant to pay when you are finished. read more

This place is my go to for pho and Vietnamese food. It's legit!! I usually get the #8 and #5. Meatball pho and a pork and egg sandwich. The pho has very complex flavors. If it's a big turn off for you not to have your water refilled then you may have a problem here. I have been coming here for over 5 years and they have never refilled my water once. However, the food is so good, that I'm over it. They take your order bring your food and that's it. You'll have to get your ass out of the chair for the refill. read more

Great Pho, Zero service..... I have been to 3 of the Pho Pasteur restaurants and they are all very good. Each one has wonderful pho, but they all have the same thing in common: you are completely on your own after you get your food. We were seated quickly and our order was taken quickly as well. We got our drinks and then got our pho very soon after that. After that, there was absolutely NO service at all (I mean that quite literally). We enjoyed our meal, but no one ever came by and checked on us to see if we needed anymore to drink (which we did) or if we needed anything at all. Their motto seems to be "Once they get their food, that's good enough". I really don't want to leave anything less than a 5 star rating for them because the food was so good, but it's hard to ignore the lack of service. This place is a low key kind of place, so I get that it's not a place that will pamper you, but some service after we got our food would have been nice. Anyway the beef and chicken pho is some of the best I have ever had. If you come here, expect great pho and not much else. The large bowls are more than enough for most people, so don't get the extra large bowls unless you are extremely hungry. I know that is no excuse, that I should have had better self control. The worst part of it is that it wasn't even good. I left disappointed and unfulfilled. I realize now that, for me, you're the place for pho. That my head shouldn't snap and my eye wander every time we pass a hole in the wall pho joint. We came here on a cloudy rainy day and were greeted by stereotypical unfriendly Asians. But it's an Asian place so who cares as long as they get their food right! I ordered the large pho with eye round steak and meat balls. My very first taste of the hot soupy broth literally gave me a food orgasm! Ahhh it was bursting with all the wonderful flavors and right blend of spices. It's not easy to find a place that makes the soup right and pho pasteur does it well! The best Pho restaurant I have had in Dallas hands-down in all facets. Everything in this Pho is just better. The freshest noodles I've ever had in Pho, the best tasting meatballs I've ever had, and the broth is just perfect. The portions however, are a bit smaller than regular Pho restaurants. I got the Extra Large and it felt like a normal portion size at the other Pho restaurants I have been to. One thing you absolutely have to get here are the pork egg rolls. I know I already sound like a broken record, but also one of the best egg rolls I have had. It's $5.50 for a full order which come with 3 egg rolls along with an assortment of 2 lettuce wraps, vermicelli noodles, pickled vegetables, and fish sauce. This is my absolute favorite spot to get spring rolls, for it is made so freshly that the rice paper wrapper is still very moist when served. Have been coming here for a long time but the last two times were disappointing. This place used to have the best Pho Tai but they seem to have recently changed the meat making it not as enjoyable. It's a thicker tougher beef that's lower quality and has a gamey taste. I can't eat it and have to throw out. The broth and noodles are still good but the meat quality is a deal breaker for me. This is especially hard to accept as their prices have gone up. Which would be fine if the quality was the same but they are also cutting cost by downgrading the meat as well. Everything here from the Pho to the Bun bo Hue is delicious, but I come here mainly for their Bun Rieu. It is 100% LEGIT and I can't get enough! Their Bun Rieu is the closest thing to my grandma's and no one else's (besides my aunt) has ever even come close. We had the Pho Combination was good, and had ample amount of meat. Broth was tasty. The Bun Bo Huë looked good but didn't have the spicy and lemongrass scent and flavor that is typical and expected of this dish. The soup temperature was also luke warm upon arrival. It was more like my 1st generation young mother's bun bo Huë than like grandma's . :) Also had the Che 3 Mau and it was the perfect portion. However, the Cafe Sua Da has a little burned flavor to it. This is the WORST service EVER. We did not feel comfortable at all during our visit. We ordered egg rolls and my partner took a bite of it and spit it immediately out. The owner of the restaurant came and slammed our bowls on the table and we told him if he could please take the egg rolls because we did not like them. He questioned us "why." And we simply said because we did not like them and he said "no sorry you've already ate them." We took ONE bite and did not even eat them. He continued to stare at us through our time there.. we felt so uncomfortable that we did not touch our Pho and we left.
