I was pleasantly surprised by Pho Please. I went with a couple friends that grew up in Houston and I grew up in DFW (and we're asian haha), so we're slightly over critical of any sort of asian cuisine, especially Vietnamese or Lao/Thai food. Let's move on to the food now! I ordered the grilled pork rice plate and crab rangoon for the table. My friends ordered the pork belly vermicelli. ALL SUPER DELICIOUS. The rangoon was made of real cheese. Not just cheap cream cheese but that real ooey gooey mess we all love to devour. On to the main dishes. HOLY DAMN..the meat was perfectly marinated/seasoned and they definitely did not skimp on the meat. My friend almost cried on her first bite because her last experience was at Dang Banh Mi (don't go there, unless you're looking for overpriced americanized flavors). Look, I'm not saying this is the best damn vietnamese food I've ever had, but one of the top joints in Austin. We also both work downtown so Pho Please is the best option within a 5 mile radius. FORGET St. Elizabeth Cafe. The plates here may be a couple dollars overpriced but the portions are worth it and the flavors are on point. It was so damn good, we went back the next day! HAHA! This time I ordered the Bun Bo Hue. Yo. They even serve the shrimp paste on the side like a real mofo should. The only thing that was missing was the pork blood, but I'm not complaining. I go here often cause it's close to where I live. The first couple of times I had fantastic service and enjoyed the ambiance-- but I'm not gonna lie to last three times I went were horrible. I literally cannot wait to try every single thing on their menu because I KNOW it will be delicious!!! So far I've tried their pho with beef broth and wow soooooo satisfying! I visited Pho Please this weekend for the first time and was incredibly impressed. I'm used to having access to fantastic Vietnamese food in Houston and I now have my fingers crossed that the owners expand their concept soon. We had a lot of the appetizers and everything was fantastic. I especially recommend the spring rolls. I had the pho with the rare steak for my entree and it was amazing. The broth was so good that I would order a side of it if I deviated from pho for another menu item. The staff is kind and attentive. I've had the pho here twice and my boyfriend's gotten their rice plate and the bun bo hue once. I really like it! It truly reminds me of the pho I have in San Francisco, and I definitely was not expecting that in Texas. My single gripe that justifies my 4-star review instead of 5-star is because their bun bo hue does not contain pork blood! That is my favorite part :( read more

I would have rated this place a 5 because the food is super good! But my first time here when I was in the middle of ordering, a cook came from the kitchen to curse at the cashier ringing up my food because she put Togo on an order that was dine in. I mean I understand that he was mad but he could've waited until there was not a customer around to scold the poor girl working the register. He not only said crude things to her in front of me but completely interrupted me when I was ordering. SO UNPROFESSIONAL. I feel bad for the people who have to work there with that cook. Came here once needing sick food and kept returning because I just crave it all the time. The vegan pho is so flavorful. I would buy that broth by the tub if I could. On top, it comes with tons of noodles, fried tofu, veggies and some basil. It's not overly salty which is a problem I run into a lot. I've always been to pho places that have the traditional Vietnamese ambiance, so my first impression of a contemporary pho place was not pleasant. However, I was greatly surprised at the quality of their pho. I ordered the pho brisket and flank. The pho soup has the special smell that I love and the taste is so rich with flavor--not salty or oily. Please don't miss out on the pho soup by adding in the hoisin and sriracha sauce. Appreciate the pho soup that's been simmering in deliciousness for hours and hours. I also ordered the Grilled Pork Vermicelli and oh my is the portion generous. It could honestly feed me three meals. The grilled pork is deliciously seasoned to complement the vermicelli, vegetables, and fish sauce. They provide a good portion for the price it's at. I didn't like the "grab your own garnishes at the food stand" setup but it's contemporary...what did I expect? Definitely a GREAT pho place to visit in Austin. read more

Stopped in for lunch with a coworker while in the Austin area. Great food. Great prices. Great selections and add ins for the order. Had the brisket and flank pho. There were some fatty areas but overall the flavor and portion were excellent. Also had some pork baos. The meat was flavorful and tender. The bun was overflowing with goodness.
