    Crispy Pork Belly
    Joy J.

We came on a Saturday and there were a lot of seats. Got a nice sized parking lot we ordered the crispy pork belly, dynamite squid, tom kha, and fried rice. Funny enough, the dynamite squid (we got it mild bc apparently it's really spicy as is) and fried rice tastes like the stir fries in Taiwan in the best way possible. Loved it. We also liked the pad thai too. The tom kha is on the sour side and it tasted more flavorful when you add some chili fish sauce into it. Service was fast and friendly as well :)

I've been hearing about this Austin staple of a Thai place for years. I'm so glad I came in! It's a little spot that feels so cozy and the service is spot on. Our server was present, helpful, and gave us great recommendations on food. We had the Khai Look Kory (Son in Law), Yen Toe-Fo (Pink Soup), and Tears but Joy (with fish). The Son in Law was a real surprise that had such great flavor with good textures as well. The Pink Soup was so delicious with the fat noodles, chicken, and seafood. I think the broth was really on point and tasted like a homey dish. The Tears but Joy is just that; spicy but amazingly delicious. The flavor of the sauce was really something special. Make sure to get some extra water because it's hot! I can't wait to come back and try many more of their dishes.

I finish the plate in 10 minutes. So good

I've been coming here for years, and it's always been great! It's authentic and they're able to accommodate my vegetarian restrictions. I love the tom ka soup, pad thai and ginger tofu.

    Pad Thai with chicken

Best Thai food in Austin! Tom Kha Gai (coconut chicken soup) is wonderful and made with fresh, authentic ingredients..... I know because I make it at home. Pad Thai is excellent without the sweet red sauce or ketchup most local places use and it's not soupy. Drunken noodles with shrimp, great; curries etc, great. Best soft spring rolls with shrimp in town, made fresh to order... thus not chewy.

We've been here before and it is always good. Food was delicious, and the staff was friendly and attentive. We had a couple appetizers, soup, and a green curry dish.

Friendly staff. The pad zee eew was pleasantly delicious and paired it with the tom kha. If you're in town and looking for a spot for Asian food would recommend. I'll look forward to doing a 10 lbs pad Thai challenge soon

Besides the food being absolutely delicious, the staff was excellent. They catered to us as if we were the only people there. I ordered the pineapple fried rice and was not disappointed one bit. The atmosphere was quiet and peaceful. This was an excellent experience! Can't wait to come back.

The food is amazing! Today I tried the pepper pork and it wasn't what I thought but still even better then expected. I haven't been to a place better then here in all of austin. Come now and give yourself a unforgettable experience.

I loved the service, but the pad se ew was okay I've had pad se ew in so many restaurants and this one tasted a bit too tangy and thick the sauce.

Loro is an Asian smokehouse and bar featuring grilled and smoked meats with Southeast Asian and Japanese-inspired sauces, sides, and a bar that boasts craft beer, boozy slushees, and batch cocktails. Parking at this location is a bit of a challenge. They have overflow parking in the back but the spots are really small. We sat at the bar area and worked our way through cocktails, apps, and dessert. We opened a tab and the bar staff takes your order which is convenient, versus how you normally have to order by waiting in line at the bar. The bar staff was extremely busy because they have to make all the cocktails and take the line orders at the bar. They are a master of multitasking. It was $3 martini night on Tuesday, so was excited to sample the four different drink options. lychee martini, Mexican martini, and Lucky Cat cosmo martini. Lychee martini is made with new amsterdam vodka, sake, elderflower, Mexican martini with espolon blanco, olive, yuzu, lime and cosmo with vodka, blood orange, naranja, lime. The lychee was hands down my favorite of the three. We started with the Dip Sampler that included a trifecta of smoked shishito queso, smoked salmon dip and Thai green salsa with the Siete blue corn tortilla chips. We went through the chips quickly and got a second round of wonton chips which I preferred to the Siete chips. Tried the Mango Chamoy frozen Slushee with Siete Chamoy Botana Sauce & Siete Chile Lime Seasoning Rim, passionfruit, Aperol, Sake and Sparkling Wine which was refreshing. All their boozy slushies are $5 during happy hour. Ordered the oak grilled edamame from the happy hour menu and it was a flavor explosion with a dusting of serracha powder, lemon zest and white sesame. For dinner, I ordered my go-to rice bowl with coconut-scented rice, seasonal pickles, thai herbs and steak as the protein. They normally served this with Bavette, but the steak was a bit tough and chewy this time. Finished everything off with cheesecake with five spice crumble, yuzu marmalade for dessert. The vibe at the bar was relaxed and lively without feeling overwhelming, and the collab menu felt creative without trying too hard. The ingredients are very thoughtful for a fully developed flavor profile. Just what I would expect from the culinary minds of Tyson Cole and Aaron Franklin. Definitely one of the regulars in my list when craving good cocktails with a casual but elevated food menu.

Which is also one of the bad things…read moreabout Loro because as soon as you get there, you have to go to the bar to order or try to grab a table and wait for others to go to the bar and order while you hold the table and then you go up to the bar. They really need to implement QR ordering like they have in movie theaters. The food was well presented and creative. All of the dishes were a little bit on the saucy side and a little bit salty but good overall. If you go for dinner and sit outside, make sure you get one of the fly fans to keep the flies at bay otherwise they descend with a vengeance. $3 martini nights (but they can't do an NA martini) so it was pretty packed but I'm told it's always packed. Parking is a little difficult since there's so many people but it wasn't too bad. Just make sure you don't park at a store that's open or you will get a boot.

You are given a card where you can mark your dim sum selections. I ordered the Shrimp Pancake, Snow Crab Ball and Chinese Sausage Sticky Rice. The standout was the shrimp pancake that had a really great texture and flavor. The snow crab ball had a strange texture with shrimp surrounding the snow crab claw. The Birds Nest is made with fried potato shreds which contain the a variety of vegetables including cauliflower, peppers, mushrooms and asparagus. The nest is also edible and has a crunchy texture. And surprisingly, the main entree entree chicken wasn't dry and pretty flavorful. The steak was also cooked well - wish there was more flavor but the condiments complimented it very well. I would also get the umami wings (well cooked and great flavor). Service is A plus - the workers were all very attentive, personable, answered any questions we had.
