We came on a Saturday and there were a lot of seats. Got a nice sized parking lot we ordered the crispy pork belly, dynamite squid, tom kha, and fried rice. Funny enough, the dynamite squid (we got it mild bc apparently it's really spicy as is) and fried rice tastes like the stir fries in Taiwan in the best way possible. Loved it. I've been hearing about this Austin staple of a Thai place for years. I'm so glad I came in! It's a little spot that feels so cozy and the service is spot on. Our server was present, helpful, and gave us great recommendations on food. We had the Khai Look Kory (Son in Law), Yen Toe-Fo (Pink Soup), and Tears but Joy (with fish). The Son in Law was a real surprise that had such great flavor with good textures as well. The Pink Soup was so delicious with the fat noodles, chicken, and seafood. I think the broth was really on point and tasted like a homey dish. The Tears but Joy is just that; spicy but amazingly delicious. The flavor of the sauce was really something special. Food is good. Menu has a vegetarian section. Nothing is starred as vegan, the word "vegan" doesn't appear anywhere on the menu. Most of their vegetarian offerings are actually vegan, but you're forced to ask waitstaff, because they didn't bother to note it on the menu. They have brown rice as an option, which is a plus, but again, I'm pretty sure it's not on the menu. I can't check now, because their website doesn't have a normal menu. (Have to click "Order Now" online to see their offerings, even if you're not trying to order, and the online menu isn't the same format as the sit-down menu anyway.) They are clearly gaming the Yelp reviews as recently there are dozens to hundreds of new, glowing 5-star reviews from people who have almost no other reviews on Yelp. UPDATE: I really ought to reduce to 2 stars based on the manager completely missing the point. (1) "We list all of our ingredients on the menu." Oh come on. Do you list every spice, seasoning, and flavoring? No, you don't, nobody does, that's ridiculous. (2) "We do note on the menu to let us know if there's dietary restrictions." Customers don't want to be forced to ask waitstaff what items are vegan, they want to be able to know without asking, and they would know, if it were noted on the menu, like countless other restaurants do. (3) "Brown rice is listed under sides..." (forehead slap) Right, it's exactly where I'm *NOT* looking for it, when I'm ordering an ENTREE! It's one thing to have a menu that's not upfront and that's disorganized, it's quite another to push back on a customer who points it out.
