Not awesome. We ordered the rice noodle bowls. The flavor was strange and too salty. The meat was not great quality, a lot of fat on the grilled beef. The service was mediocre, and it took a while for us to get sat, have our order taken and then we were standing at the counter to pay and until a server came to check us out did the cashier acknowledge us. The two stars are for the spring rolls. They were tasty. The location felt really commercialized, but if you prefer commercialized places this is the place for you. We wont go back because there are many other much tastier vietnamese places than this one. read more

This is my favorite place in belmar. My boyfriend and I eat here all the time! The staff is so friendly even when they're busy. I haven't had anything on the menu I didn't like. Whoever manages this place is doing an incredible job. Servers are always smiling when you walk in the door. It's nice to feel welcomed and soothe the belly with some pho. It's always kept clean, they have tvs to watch if you're stopping in alone. It's a great place, check it out! read more

The food comes out fast, and its nice to have this restaurant in the area as i do love Vietnamese food... The food comes out a little too fast if you know what i mean. This place is just okay... the food is pretty expensive for the quality. My boyfriend and I dined in on a Wednesday night and they were fairly busy. We were not greeted but just sat down and were only talked to once to take our order. They were out of crab cheese wontons so we got Vietnamese egg rolls instead which were incredibly mediocre for $7.49. Just okay food and not so good service from waiters. read more

Probably the least authentic pho I've ever had. We called in a Togo order and got a shrimp and tofu noodle bowl. The meal wasn't hot and we picked it up 15 minutes after ordering. The tofu was "fried" but also cold. Shrimp was fine, they did give more than other places. It was more expensive than any other place I've ordered pho. The service was nice and quick. I would not recommend this place if it is your first time trying Vietnamese good. read more

Well, well. A pleasant surprise. Service was excellent. A good thing here in Belmar where the nearby Rocko's is a bust on service. Had the Pho which was very good. I had the seafood Pho bowl. I was disappointed, they seem to use imitation seafood mixed with the shrimp and squid. Most disappointing of all was that I had a horrible migraine that started that night and I ended up in a local urgent care for medication. I have had these before due to MSG in the food. Amazing! Love the food and great staff! I always have a super complicated order and they are always great about it and accurate!

The food was great but the manager decided she had too many regulars in there to take care of me. She made eye contact with me 3 times and just watched as i sat there ready to pay. Then she finally decided to get me my bill and could literally see my wallet and credit card on the table. She walks away and I'm left sitting there again while she chatted with more regulars. Nice to have a good relationship with people who go normally but i would also like to be treated well. I won't go back to a place where they feel they can ignore me all night. How do you make eye contact with me, see that I've pushed my food away and am sitting there trying to get someone to give me the check and instead of asking me what i need you just continue talking and act like i can just wait. It is hard to go into a place and not compare it to Vietnamese places on federal. I was excited to try this place since Belmar is close to home. First, the service was prompt and friendly. We started with the grilled pork spring rolls which were really good and their peanut sauce was very unique. It had a smoky style to it and offered a bit of kick, it was one of my favorite peanut sauces so far. I ordered the rare steak pho, and as pho goes it was average. It had a very minty flavor. The portions are small in comparison to other local places, but for a medium I was very full. I am used to having such larger portions with meat leftover that I was surprised I had managed to eat it all. I would recommend this place if you are in the area. I would have to agree with Laura, I usually go to Pho 95 and get a large rare steak with extra steak. I struggle to finish it but I do so because of how damn good it is. This place is pretty decent pho but I would have to agree that it is not like some of the places on federal. It is somewhat bland and they do not bring alot of the usual trimming I am used to such as basil and sawgrass. I understand their lease is probably much higher in belmar than it would be on federal so I understand that costs need to be cut where they can be. I will be coming in alot however as they are a 3 minute walk from my front door as opposed to having to drive to federal. read more

I went in the establishment for a beef Bahn mi. The first problem I had was the lady behind the counter rubbing and squeezing her nostrils together. When she noticed that I had a look of disgust on my face, she giggled and told me that her nose itched. When I just kept staring at her, she muttered something and went over to the small sink to "wash" her hands. I placed my order with the gentleman and waited for 10 minutes for my sandwich. This sandwich was the worst bahn mi I ever had. Disgusting world be the best description. The bread was hard and crunchy. There were big chunks of cucumber and a entire stalk of cilantro. Stalk, stems and leaves. Two huge slices of jalapeño peppers and a package of soy sauce on the side. The meat was lightly seasoned and had it filled the sandwich I would have probably given them another star. I will never again cross the door way of this restaurant again. Great pho our place to go to every time we get a massage next door. Always fresh items Some of the most amazing boba the honeydew and watermelon are amazing. They have this really tasty drink that is called soda lemonade don't make the mistake of ordering the salty lemonade it's very different. The only complaint is they get really busy it's slow but worth the wait and it's really cold when customers the open the door when it's cold outside. Love this food! read more

Because I live in the Belmar area, I was delighted to find Pho Basil, and even more delighted to find that their pho is great -- the equal of that found in any of the excellent pho restaurants on Federal! I've never had an issue with the service, and the place has always been clean when I've been there. Their fried rice is also good, as are the Vietnamese egg rolls. Bobas are good, too! read more

It was very, very good, but I've had better - (Pho 95 is still my favorite). I agree with others about the convenient location and the friendly service, but there is one HUGE drawback - the cook smokes cigarettes in the kitchen, and the smell permeates this small restaurant!!!! How disgusting! In fact, if the food hadn't been so good, I would have given it no stars just because of this.
