A nice Vietnamese restaurant located 10 minutes away from the ski resorts in Poconos. My friends and I were so hungry after our long snowboarding day and after eating American food during the whole trip we were ready to eat some Asian food. I'm glad the food was as good as the reviews I read before coming! We came a little short of an hour before they were closing but the place was lively with 3 other groups of people. Every 2 people shared an order of the fried crispy egg roll which was very good! They are known for the Bun Bo Hue which not a lot of places serve. It was delicious, flavorful and packed with lots of meat. Two of my friends got the Signature Pho with all the different types of meats and it was very good too. I got a grilled pork chop with beef rice vermicelli soup. The grilled pork chop was not too fat and perfectly marinated and grilled. And I'm glad it was on a separate plate rather than in the same bowl as my noodle soup. Then two of my other friends got some rice dishes and they looked yummy too! The Thai iced tea was standard - not too sweet, but not too strong either. Would like to try their other unique drinks next time! Had lunch at Pho Saigon II after a day at the water park. It looks pretty new, and the space is clean and updated. We were seated quickly and given menus. We ordered a Vietnamese coffee, summer rolls, and pho. The Vietnamese coffee had a nice chocolatey flavor, since they were using Trung Nguyên beans. The summer rolls had pork and shrimp which was nice. I got the large combo pho, so it had all the different meats. The broth was average, but i didn't like the rice noodles. They were overcooked so they broke apart as I attempted to pick them up with chopsticks. Pretty average pho overall. read more

The restaurant is large and open and well lit. The place is also very clean. The staff is kind and fast. They may move faster from ordering to food preparation than any non-fast food restaurant I have ever seen. The food is fresh and the grilled meats are tasty on their own without the array of sauces they have (hoisin sauce and chili sauce are always at the table). My friend ordered the pho with grilled chicken. The bowl comes with vegetables and noodles, and bean sprouts and jalapeno and lime on the side. I had the Com Tam with grilled pork, shredded porkskin, fried egg, and their delicious egg loaf. It was a very satisfying meal. Bathrooms are clean but to get there, one has to walk through a bit of a blocked off storage area. The water is also cold. The wait staff is kind but impatient. We came were craving something hearty and close by after a snowboard trip to Camelbak Ski Resort and arrived at this restaurant just 13 minutes away. A truly authentic Vietnamese restaurant owned by Vietnamese people. Food was delicious, the restaurant was clean, and the staff was really nice. They welcomed us with open arms when we came 30 minutes before closing. The pho noodles were cooked just right. I prefer a slight chew to mine. The broth was on the lighter side but still flavorful. There was a lot of variety of meat in the 8. Pho Dat Biet. Bon Bo Hue was incredibly flavorful, spicy, and full of different aromas. The char of the fatty grilled pork chop was so satisfying and satiating. I would definitely come back again during our annual snowboard trip. read more

Had the large combo pho and really enjoyed it. The tripe was the standout -- some of the best I've had compared to many other Pho spots. The rest of the bowl was solid and satisfying. I'm giving 5 stars because the grilled meats with either their broken rice or vermecilli noodles are probably the best Asian food in the area. I love their egg rolls too. I'm new to the area and come from a big west coast city and had access to amazing Pho and Banh Mi's, so if you know your Vietnamese food, I would skip those. I just found the broth of the Pho very lacking and Pho is all about the broth baby! But their rice dishes with the grilled meats has never failed me and I've ordered many times now and it's always fresh and delicious, even the little side salad with carrots and daikon is fresh. I was there with a friend today for lunch at 12 noon. We both ordered large soups and an eggroll appetizer. Nothing else. Our bill came to $55. Firstly, The waitress was on another planet. Which one? Not sure. Secondly, We were at this place before their first place burnt down and the experience was much better. The food was better. My girlfriend ordered the pho meatball soup. The meatballs were frozen and tasted like sponges. I ordered a 3-beef pho soup. I got 1-beef and each piece had to be taken out of the soup and the fat had to be trimmed off. It was gross. Pho Saigon was a Yelp find for my Pocono area vacation. I arrived around 5 on a Monday and they were doing a fairly busy dine-in and takeout business, but there seats available throughout. I dined in. The restaurant atmosphere was pleasant. After I was seated, I got lost in the shuffle and it was a while before anybody came back to me. Otherwise, service was OK. I ordered a Beef Vermicelli Bowl with a fried egg roll, which is a fav order of mine -- especially in the Summer. I liked it a lot. The beef was flavorful and reasonably tender. The vegetables were on point. It didn't measure up to my favorite versions of this dish in two ways. First, the noodle texture was a bit softer than I prefer. The broth of the pho is a genuine as it gets. The rare beef left a lot to be desired. Either the broth cooked the slices of beef extremely fast or the beef just wasn't rare/raw to begin with which was a bit disappointing. The other thing that threw me off is the lack of music. This is a solid food if you're looking for Asian options around the Poconos. We are staying at the great wolf lodge, and wanted a break from all the food at the resort. It's not like any of the stuff that you would get closer to South Philadelphia but for the standards of the Poconos, I got a solid four stars. My wife ordered the phone thought it was OK. Her complaint was that some of the things and it taste fresh. I enjoyed the eggrolls that they had. Very crispy. I also ordered the broken rice dish. Really spot on flavors with their eggs and seasoning of the park. They were really accommodating with our kids. They just wanna eat eggs and rice with soy sauce, so definitely we were helpful there. I also like the fact that they brought Styrofoam cups for the kids ahead of time without us having to prompt them. Good food and fast service. Can't beat that. read more

Great Vietnamese food and if you are looking for both tasty and good value, look no further. The bun, pho and grilled pork chop were all amazing. The pho comes in two sizes - small and large. Seriously, the small is more than enough food. There are so many types of bun on the menu. But we got the first one, which has grilled pork, egg roll and shrimp. So tasty and generous portions. The thai tea was also good, not overly sweet. We called ahead to make sure they were open and were warned that although they close at 9pm, they will not seat anyone after 8pm. I dunno how true this is as no one else came in to eat after us, or if it was merely a tactic to ensure no last minute diners before closing. Was looking for takeout in this area, as we often visit (from Brooklyn, NY). I ordered for about 5-6 people and was pleasantly surprised of the authenticity of the dishes. We ordered grilled chicken, beef, pork chop bun and rice combos and personally I got the beef pho (pho tai) which in case you aren't familiar is raw sliced beef (will cook in the broth) and cooked brisket. Very good flavors, a tad too sweet for the grilled meats but other then that, I felt that the fish sauce, the smokiness, grilled flavor came through. The Pho is DELICIOUS !!! (5 Stars) for the all the food, we ordered Springrolls to start, served crispy ( my wife loves it that way), very tasty with a little spice. The dippin sauce with lettuce on the side added to the flavor. Both our soups were served very hot (the best way) my wife is Korean and the hotter the better. I did #11 Steak with Meatballs, the broth was so good, added nothing but bean sprouts & jalapeños. The meat was good quality and plenty of it. My wife enjoyed hers as much as I did mine. We have had Pho everywhere and this is up there in taste. The service was more of a (3) the only highlight was the young man who brought out our food, everyone else was blah, my wife said the guy that she paid was borderline rude. The food: Cha Gio- Vietnamese fried spring rolls. I thought these were made well, the flavor was good but be mindful these are chicken springs rolls and not the typical pork. I thought they tasted different from ones I tried in other restaurants so I asked the employee and the they said the people in the area prefer chicken. Com Bo Luc Lac- Steamed rice with marinated beef cubes. Oh man, this is the dish to get here! The beef was so crazy tender and had so much flavor, I also liked eating it with the barely cooked onions. I thought the flavor of this was great and is my new go to dish here. Pho Dac Biet- Special pho with rare steak, well done flank, brisket, meatball, tendon and tripe. I thought their pho was a good proper pho. Broth had a nice beefy flavor but wasn't too greasy. The essence of the broth was great. I also enjoyed the doneness of the noodle and the meats were cooked well. Cafe Sua Da- Iced Vietnamese coffee with milk. Man this is a good viet iced coffee. My friends and I were in the area for Treetop Adventure Course earlier. One of them wanted to get Vietnamese for dinner so we went for it. I called ahead to ask if there was outdoor seating because NY only allows outdoor dining. We were sort of cold so we called again and asked if they had indoor seating. To our surprise, they had indoor seating as well. When we got there, we were immediately seated. The interior is super spacious. All the tables were at least 6 feet apart. Their bathrooms were clean too. The employees were wearing masks and the utensils they gave were disposables. There were two size options for some of the dishes like pho. Since I eat a lot, I opted for the big one. It was huge! I was able to finish all of it except for some bean sprouts. My friends and I felt the broth was above average. We got the egg roll appetizer which had chicken in it. I would recommend getting this savory crunchy roll and the first item on the pho list. read more

OK, so this isn't a white-glove service/transcendental food 5-star kind of establishment, but the food quality, value, cleanliness, and efficient service are all a hit here, giving Pho Saigon II a solid 4.5 rating. I rounded up after factoring in the fact that the Poconos is otherwise a food desert, imo. The pho and fried spring rolls are great-- actually better than most spots in NYC. The spring rolls will be fresh out of the fryer, hot and crispy and flavorful. The pho comes in "small" and "large" bowls, which are really more like medium and large. A great deal for about $12 or $13 and the broth is on point. I'd stay away from the fresh summer rolls; the filling was a bit weak. The iced Vietnamese coffee is phenomenal. I would not be surprised if it was made entirely of half-and half, it's so thick, but I don't care! It's strong, sweet, and refreshing on a summer's day. Totally worth it. Service is what I consider Asian-efficient. No one is trying to be your best friend, but they'll take your order and get your food ASAP, possibly even with a smile. We left the store and moved to another establishment next door .The server brought us our left over bag.The server later returned with the cash and another bill stating she charged us incorrectly. I was bothered because this was after the fact and handled by the vehicle after we moved over.No, a restaurant cannot legally chase you outside to try to collect an allegedly wrong charge.
