I will start by saying that this is the priciest omelet I have had in quite some time. With that said, it is also the best one I've had in quite some time. I got a Western Omelet with cheese, home fries, and rye toast with a coffee and the total was $19 and change. The server was very friendly and helpful. There was some indoor seating available but they had a very nice tented type of outdoor seating with fresh flowers around and this is nearing the end of the nice weather for the year so I sat outside to soak some of that up. The onions were red onion and I found that a bit peculiar but they tasted good. The vegetables and ham were not uniformly cut which drove the chef in me mad, but it did not affect how the omelet ate at all. I loved that their American cheese of choice was Cooper Sharp and the eggs were not over or under cooked. I enjoyed the omelet a lot. The potatoes were Yukon's and looked like more seared roasted potatoes done in the oven than flat sliced potatoes typically done on a flat top grill. The seasoning on them was very good and they were cooked well. There was only one slice of rye halved instead of two which is typically nearly everywhere...but the bread was significantly thicker than most. It had grill marks on it as well so I am guessing that is how they toast their bread rather than using a toaster. I enjoyed the flavor of the toast a lot. I was texting my girlfriend as I was eating saying we need to come back together so she can check out the breakfast here. I've come in the past but only really got smoothies (their strawberry banana smoothie was a small addiction of mine in the past) so now I know I really enjoy the breakfast as well. This is my absolute favorite breakfast/lunch spot in the Tannersville area!! Their food is absolutely delicious!! Their bread is fresh baked and you can absolutely taste the freshness!! Today I was here for lunch. I had the soup of the day which was beef minestrone. It was so good!! I had the Monterey Chicken Panini and it came with a side of fresh made pasta salad, but you can also choose Cajun coleslaw or chips. It was absolutely delicious!! Food is alright. It suffices for what it is, its convenience, and its price point. I tried the Egg Platter breakfast and some of the pancakes. The Yukan gold potato and sweet potato "fries" aren't really fries -- they're like soft potato chunks / hash. They were well-seasoned and delicious. The pancakes were okay. They were fluffy but pretty dry and on the denser side. The syrup wasn't too sweet, which I liked. The "special" pancakes, which cost $1 more, were disappointing. We tried the apple cinnamon pancake and chocolate chip pancake. The chocolate chip pancake was as expected, but the apple cinnamon sounds like it's be more elaborate, but it was just the regular pancake batter with thin slices of apple mixed in and a sprinkle of cinnamon on top. The cinnamon and apple flavor was not noticeable. I would imagine their other "special" pancakes to be just as basic. They do just cost $1 more, so we shouldn't have had high expectations anyways. Service was good. The dining area can get a little loud (pretty echo-y), and the sounds of the seats against the floor can be a bit jarring. Walking into the place, the first impression is what a cute little place to eat! It was probably one of the cleanest restaurants that I have ever seen. Floors, walls, tables, and the front counter were spotless. I ordered eggs, Yukon gold home fries and bacon, the wife ordered a omelette and 2 of my kids ordered pancakes with chocolate chips and the other an eggs skillet with ciabatta toast. Every aspect of the meal was outstanding. The coffee at Dale's was the best tasting coffee we had during our entire 4 days in the area (we stayed at Camelback Resorts for the indoor waterpark). Our kids asked if we can stop there on the way home and eat again. We enjoyed the food so much that we saved it on our Apple Maps which we have never done for a restaurant before. Our server was "Wendy" and she was so friendly, courteous, and quick with the drinks and food. We left there amazed at how good the entire experience was from the moment that we walked in to the moment that we walked out. What a nice little cafe! Perfect blend of rustic and trendy. Great specials including a mushroom soup and the 'skillet eggs' dish hit the spot. Sweet potato home fries are an option along with multi grain bread. Cage free eggs. If you're looking for a 'grand slam' type breakfast you can get that too. We were passing through the area so this was a breakfast stop, but the lunch items looked good too. Calming cheery decor that recalls a continental cafe, with beautiful artwork on display that's also available for purchase. Local artists undoubtedly! It's an eatery I've passed by for years, saying I will try it one day. One day was today. I'm impressed here. It's a neat little establishment with a charming atmosphere. I like the support of local artists, with art from artists from the area available to purchase. I ordered the grilled cheese and pasta salad, which tasted exceptionally great. We came here for breakfast while staying at camelback resort and this place is super cute. The food was delicious , my daughter loved the pancakes , the fruit was fresh and the eggs were perfectly cooked. The chicken Caesar wrap was yummy too. It was so good we came back the next morning for breakfast before leaving to go home. The staff was very sweet and the overall vibe of the place was just wonderful. Stopped in this morning on our way home from Kalahari. I had four 15 year old boys with me and they weren't thrilled with the limited selection. I was very happy with my food, but my taste are a little more advanced! Plus they love HUGE portions. The coffee was also not great. I would give it a 5 but the young waitress didn't bother to ask if I wanted a coffee refill and she left the boys water refills to be desired. Hence her 15% tip. We were visiting for a trip to Great Wolf Lodge with one of my 2 children, for a kittie winter getaway. Knowing how subpar the breakfast buffet at the GWL is, we decided to take a drive a couple miles down the road, for our first, but definitely not last trip to Dale's Pocono Bistro. The food here is fresh and fine well. I ordered a simple mushroom cheese omelet, with the Yukon gold home fried potatoes and rye toast. It was exactly what I wanted it to be. Everything was seasoned to perfection, fresh eggs, fresh (not canned) mushrooms, topped with their in house hot sauce was perfection. The breads, from what I understand are all made on premises and it was very very good rye bread. The Yukon home fries were also very very good, and the portion size of everything was spot on. Service was friendly and efficient. If you're ever in the Pocono area, and want a hot fresh breakfast, Dale's is a no brainer for me, and should be for you s well. Coming from a restaurant industry background of over 16 years, I'm more often than not, a little disappointed in my ventures of eating out these days. A breath of fresh air and fresh ingredients in the Poconos. I first visited Dale's six years ago, on a day that my mother and I were glad to see a new restaurant in the neighborhood. I remember how excited we were to find a menu that seemed to focus on fresh vegetables and interesting flavors. Fast forward to lunch yesterday and my rediscovery of this happy making place. I travel to the Pocono mountains frequently In order to visit with family that love in the area. Every time I visit we spend the entire morning trying to decide where to eat lunch. All of us have different food wants and half of us have a number of dietary needs, making it important that we plan ahead so that all of us have a chance to have an enjoyable meal. Dales was able to accommodate all of our quirks and left us full and happy. My mother ordered the shrimp and guacamole, her favorite thing on the menu. They allowed her to trade the rice for lettuce, and she ended up with a lovely and delicious salad. I ordered the skillet with two perfectly over medium eggs and their sweet potato hash. A small upcharge gor me a buttered croissant, which sent my meal over the top. My aunt ordered a burger with chips on the side. It was big enough that it needed to be cut in order to hold, and was topped with a nice amount of the usual fixings. My cousin ordered a cheesesteak wrap, which was more steak than cheese, and which he said was tasty if a bit dry. Which brings us to the basil garlic sauce. OMG get a side of this house made dressing if you order anything savory. It was all the cheesesteak needed, it gave extra depth to my mother's dish, and it transformed my already wonderful skillet into something better. The sauce could be described as a creamy herbal dressing, but the balance of basil vs garlic is just right, and it is not sweet as so many creamy dressings are. I'd buy this by the jar if they sold it separately. The only misstep they had during our visit was with my meal. I'd asked for cheese to be left out of my dish, but it arrived with obvious signs that cheese had been added and then removed. I showed our waitress the left behind cheese strands and she immediately offered to replace the dish. Luckily I am just averse to cheese, not allergic to dairy, so no fix was needed. She did discuss it with the cook, and I'm positive that they would make things right for anyone who had a more severe issue. So if your family has diverse tastes and needs to find a quiet, local spot for breakfast or lunch in the Stroudsburg area, give Dale's a try. read more

I ordered the tortellini soup and a mixed veggie sandwich. The sandwich was tasty. My tortellini soup was just okay. The tortellini were somewhat hard and crunchy, like they had been microwaved. Sought this out while visiting the water park with the kids. The $ is misleading because majority of the meals are $10. The dining area is clean however very loud. Everything has echo.... the lack of anything soft on the walls, floors or tables makes the shrill of small children something you wish you had not experienced. The food wash good and the portions ok. First time coming to this restaurant the food the staff and the atmosphere were were terrific. My wife my son and I enjoyed ourselves so much that once my son went back home. My wife and I added this to our rotating list of places to eat. The second time my wife and I had breakfast brunch at this establishment It was kind of disappointing. The food was just not as good as the first time we ate here. The food was good but just not as good as our first dining experience. This was right before everything got locked down by covet and it was also a Saturday afternoon when we stopped the second time. Except for six police officers who sat across from us The establishment was pretty much empty I think there was one other table with two diners on the other side of the room. Please understand the food was good the second time but not as good as the first time. My wife and I felt that it could be the kitchen staff had changed or with the covid shutdown coming we just gave this place a pass. We figured anybody could have an off day and our five-star rating still stands. We've been back a couple more times and the food was the same quality we had on our first visit. So we will be back and we recommend this place to friends and family with the caveat that the food might not be as exceptional as it was.
