Very below average pho here. I was looking for a pho place close to home and decided on Pho Saigon because I was in a time crunch. On a Saturday evening, the restaurant was relatively empty. We got there and ordered the #12 pho. It had slices of Eye-Round Steak, Flank, Brisket,Tendon & Tripe. Bf and I shared the large and ordered a banh mi chicken sandwich ($3.95) on the side. We originally wanted to order the spring rolls, but then realized that spring rolls ($5.25) actually cost more then the sandwich! Definitely not a bang for your buck here. The pho came with a relatively decent amount of meat and noodles. I tasted the broth and was disappointed at the lack of flavor. Very bland. For me, the broth is the most important part of pho. It brings it all together. The broth was also warm, not hot. That aside, I still ate it. Put some hoisin and sriracha sauce in it and faked my way through it. I was having a massive pho craving and for the most part, it did the job. The meats were ok. Not too tender. The banh mi sandwich was a bit better. The chicken was flavorful. Marinated well. The pickled carrots weren't very flavorful though and the bread was a tiny bit stale. Good size sandwich though. Service was ok. A tad slow when we were waiting for the check. Yeah, I wouldn't come back here. At least not for the pho. read more

Used to like going here but yesterday's meal was probably my last. Reason: Pho was too salty. Fried rice was too bland. They changed the egg rolls to normal plain long thin ones compared to the crispy bubbly short stubby ones. They do have a pluses: Lots of meat in the Pho Thai. I remember when this restaurant first opened in La Mirada. Everyone was really excited to have Vietnamese food in the area. Because driving down to Westminster can be a drag sometimes. It was not bad the first time I went here to eat. But now it's not good at all. It may be because it is owned by Koreans now and the Vietnamese flavor has been lost. I've been here several times and its one of those places you either love or hate. The issue is not the food, because you WILL LOVE the Pho, served hot and delicious. When you first walk in you get the standard meet, greet and seat. You order your meal and then it doesn't come for a long long time. But like I said, the Pho is delicious, and that's why you will come back. Just don't come when you're on a tight schedule. The really funny thing is this Pho restaurant is Korean owned. They should call this the Pho Kean place, but that sounds to much like the bad word. I usually order the Pho Combo with Chicken (#42 I believe). Its served up with the bowl of Pho and a big Chicken Leg on the side. Very satisfying, as a matter of fact its Pho Kean good! This is our go to Vietnamese place in Cerritos. Previously was Pho Jackie. The food is good with large portions. We have eaten in and taken out. One of the freshest shrimp spring rolls around. They even have Bun Bo Hue! They have a kids menu, which is a nice touch. Service is decent, prices reasonable. read more

I got a tip that I should try this place. They had a special with bbq pork pho and egg rolls and a drink all for $13. That seemed reasonable and I got that. I have to admit that the bbq pork is really good and the pho is decent enough but together they are not good. The char flakes from the bbq pork mixed in with the pho broth changes the flavor just enough that it's just not the same. So I would skip this. Go tradition and go with the brisket. Theirs is good enough. The egg rolls were not fresh and almost burnt. That's a big skip. Then I got the phorrito (pho burrito) that was advertised and that one is definitely worth checking out. Thia place was recommended by a dear friend of mine and I've had their pho here from time to time. I'm not knowledgeable enough in Vietnamese cuisine to have an opinion but it was good and so it became my pho place. Until now. I have arrived up to 40 minutes before they close for take out and have consistently been denied (dine in and take out service) on 3 separate occasions. It's just not worth the inconsistency. One of the better pho places in north oc meaning fullerton, brea, buena park, la mirada, la habra area. We like our broth flavorful, very clear, not oily, and hot. Broth is the most important part of pho. The broth here is very clear, not oily, flavorful, and hot. Some may like a more "marrowy" flavor a la oxtail soup but for pho, this is good. The portions are decent but there are places that give double the amount a few miles away. I think that most males and hungry people could eat a large no problem. My question, does it matter how much they give me if its not good and I am NOT going to eat it? We almost always get pho tai and seafood pho when getting pho. We prefer their egg rolls over their spring rolls. The vermicellis are pretty good also. Clean, good service, and the taste is good. I come here on those occasional cold California days for a big, nice hot bowl of phó. Great service and great food all around. Goodness! This is the best pho that I've had! It was wonderful when I opened the container (I ordered to go) and in could smell the broth.. I could smell the various spices used in home made stuff.. I've eaten here before but have gotten the egg rolls, dumplings, BBQ sandwiches, crispy noodle stir fry, and the vermicelli.. All of which has made my taste buds happy time and time again... I do love the fact that their dumplings are home made... So today I has a hunkering for pho... And was very pleased that it smelled so delicious and also home made.. I'm from Anaheim and had a go-to pho spot very close to my house. Sadly, they closed their doors a few years ago around the time that I moved to Whittier. My bf is from this area, so he knows a ton of spots for just about anything you can think of. I've been craving pho and pho Saigon definitely satisfied that (3x this week lol). Their ingredients are fresh, the broth is so tasty and reminds me almost exactly of my old pho spot which is a HUGE plus for me. The ladies in there are always very nice and everything comes out pretty quickly (like most pho spots) and is piping hot. Pricing is great. Restaurant is clean and kid-friendly. I tried this place today and I ordered the #22 Chicken Noodle Pho and though they gave hearty portions of chicken in my soup, some of the pieces were a little rubbery. But it did have good flavor and good prices. Try the dumplings, they are delish! Friendly service but even though the place may be dead, they hardly come to check up on you which some people may prefer but I as a person who always needs a refill on her lemonaids would like them to come around more often then once in a red tide. read more

Ok so I have been here twice...the first time was when I hadnt had pho in about almost 10 years...and i thought it was good not awesome but good...since my first time here, i have been to several other Vietnamese Pho places all of which are MUCH MUCH better in quality and taste, because when i came back for the 2nd time here i could quickly tell the difference, and i looked it up and the owners or cooks arent even vietnamese!!! They are korean!!! If i wanted Korean food I'd go to K BBQ or have Bibimbop or go to Tofu House!! Not vietnamese PHO .. I love this place! Huge portions for cheap and it is delicious. I always order the chicken noodle pho and I am never disappointed with it. The service is pretty slow so don't expect a quick meal. This place honestly isn't bad, but if you're expecting Vietnamese Cuisine bliss, you will be sorely disappointed. I order take out from this place on a weekly basis for my family, and our usual order is Seafood Pho and the Chicken plate with Julienne Pork and Steamed Pork Cake. The chicken plate is nothing special but it ain't bad either. The problem with their Pho is that it's more warm than hot. Granted, I tend to order takeout, but my house is like 2 minutes away and we always eat the soup right away. I usually pop the Pho in the microwave for like 45 secs and then it's good to go. If you order one of the "meatier" Pho soups, don't expect amazing meat quality. I think I've been spoiled by places like Olivia's Pho in La Habra that use higher quality brisket and steak/filet mignon. Pho Saigon is honestly worth checking out if you need your Vietnamese fix and you're in La Mirada. However, it cannot compare to places like Olivia's in nearby La Habra or more authentic Pho places like Golden Deli in San Gabriel. Tip: If you like pork, try the pork chop plate with a sunny side egg! read more

Why are there barely any Pho restaurants within the Whittier vicinity, without having to hop over that hill to the 626??? :( I got the #18, which was the well-done briskets noodle soup. It was just okay. They could've put a couple more briskets. The broth seemed a little bland, and I guess that's not necessary a bad thing...BUT, it didn't "hit the spot." Service was mediocre, a bit slow. We were here on a Thursday afternoon, and was at one point, the only customer in the restaurant. The lady took awhile getting our order in, and disappeared to the back when we tried paying for the check. She didn't promptly refill (or cared to check) the water for the h2o monster, who wasn't impressed with the food either, but did take a liking for his egg rolls with fish sauce. Price was about the same as every other pho restaurants I've been to. The place is clean though...I'll give them that. Too bad that alone doesn't win me over, and I will not be returning. read more

Pho is good. Service is good. This is one of those reviews where I don't have anything good or bad to say about the place. Our office gets takeout pho from here regularly, and it has been consistently good in terms of food quality and service. The broth is pretty good and the noodles hold up very well even when we get them for takeout. There's actually another pho place closer to our office, but we always go 5 more miles out of our way to get our cravings satisfied here.
