I don't know why but these last couple time I've been here something is off with the foods. Last time I was here the place smell funky and burnt. My vermicelli I always ordered tasted so salty and the meat was dry. I couldn't even finished. Now today I didn't even want to come but thought maybe it will be better than last time. Sigh....I was wrong. . This time I ordered the special combination dish. It comes with pho noodle, egg roll and soft drink. The quantity of my pho was not as much as before and no matter how much I add my special touch, it still taste like it was missing something. Maybe because the broth was not brothy enough by more of the watery soup with lots and lots of MSG. Boy did they put a lot of it. Was there once before and the service was good and the food wasn't bad. Tried it again and the waitress was very rude. She tried to sell me a combo with Pho for 13.99. We only wanted the Pho not the egg roll or soft drink but she said it only came as a combo. She then snubbed me and so obviously we walked out. read more

I've been coming to Saigon Noodles for years, and this is one of my absolute go-to places for Vietnamese food. Very well-priced dishes and their menu is huge. Can never go wrong with whichever pho you choose, and the broth is always on point. They also have really great rice dishes that come in pretty huge portions. Probably one of my favorite things to get here is the fried chicken with fried rice. It's mind blowingly good with the sauce they provide and I definitely recommend it to anyone, even if you're not chicken's biggest fan. And lastly, their service here is always so great. We're always served with a smile and they have never been rude to us. Simply put, if you're trying to decide which pho place to go to, GO TO THIS ONE! read more

I'm not much of a pho person, but I will eat it if i'm in the mood. I like the frilled chicken or beef plate. Their fillet menon is really tasty and soft :) If you order the tai iced tea, ask for extra cream/milk it's a little on the bitter side (kinda strong). I like their lemonade, it's more like a limeade, very refreshing and sweet. The interior is very nice and roomy. You kinda have to seat yourself when you come in. The staff always seems preoccupied, but they get the food out to you fast. My family and I enjoy eating here often. read more

If you want Vietnamese soup make sure its run by Vietnamese. Koreans really can't compare when it comes to making authentic Vietnamese soup. I'm not a hater but you can really taste the difference that's all I'm saying. read more

my family really enjoy their pho but i was very disappointed today. my dad ordered seafood pho and it only had 1 shrimp, few imitation crab, and 3-4 fish balls. my vegetable pho broth tasted really artificial n didn't have the same amount of vegetable like before. sliced onion had a bitter aftertaste and the peanut dipping sauce for spring roll was very watery. my family was here about a month ago, order the same food and they were delicious. i told the cashier the broth tasted different in a bad way and she didn't seem surprised. read more

Decent pho, terrible service. Been here a few times when I want pho and dont want to drive to my favorite place in cerritos. The pho is not bad. broth is not greasy or fatty. a little light on the meat, fair amount of noodles. taste good. Nothing bad about it at all. Now my issue is with the service. you come in and seat yourself, no problem. they have a bell that goes off when you walk through the door so they come out right away and give you a menu and take your order. then things go horribly wrong. The food takes forever to come out. Ive been to many pho places and it normally doesnt take more then 5 mins to bring out the soup. this place it takes at least 10 mins and usually longer. on this last visit it took around 15 mins. Along with the pho I ordered spring rolls. Well the waiter brings egg rolls to the table and takes off before I can tell him we didnt order these. so now I have to sit and wait for him to come out from the kitchen where he seems to hide when no one is setting off the bell when you walk in the door. To top it all off I ordered a drink and he never brought it until I asked where my drink was. Just awful service. dont know why. I can never figure these things out. maybe hes overwhelmed? maybe hes just a lousy waiter? could be any reason. But it pisses me off when I eat there. I will continue to come back but be aware that the bad service is very typical and if you cant handle that dont come here. One last thing, when your ready to leave you can never find the waiter to get your check, so just walk up to the front counter. read more

Honestly the food is pretty good, but the service is always bad. Don't bother ordering anything with shrimp during busy lunch hour because it will take more than 30 min for it to come out. I may have come in at a bad time near closing because they were cleaning up already (technically still opening hours though). There was a foul odor inside the restaurant - like a combination of strong bleach and a stinky street smell. Maybe it was because they were bussing some of the tables, but the stink really bothered me. My family was hungry so we were going to stay no matter what and it was getting late for the kids. I guess I couldn't shake the smell. It bothered me throughout dinner so I just couldn't enjoy the food. It seemed good and my wife loved the pho. I had the vermicelli with noodles. Decent. But as soon as the fam was done eating I couldn't wait to get outside for fresh air! I am not sure why this place is getting some perfect scores. I have eaten here 4x only because friends suggest it for being closer to SCUHS. I have also taken several Vietnamese born friends here and friends who make pho on a usual basis. We agree that this place is not authentic!! The broth is just ok for me. This is our go-to pho place because it is really close to our house and we love the special combo (pho, egg rolls & drink). I've tried the fillet mignon fried rice a few times also, it is quite good as well as the appetizer combo. Service isn't always great, even though they don't get THAT busy. My biggest complaint though has nothing to do with the food or service so I didn't factor it into my rating: they have this rather large fish tank in the front of the restaurant that is pretty gross. I refuse to sit anywhere near it, I don't want to eat my food while looking at that dank fish tank...they need to at least clean it!! OK was just here again on 12/4/11 - What horrible service we received!! This place is not big but they seriously cannot handle more than about 5 tables at a time, more than that and they are overwhelmed! We sat ourselves and the bus boy I think it was took our drink order which we got maybe 5 minutes later. Then another 5 minutes we finally got our order taken. Then the wait for our food for just 3 people was over a half hour! We sat thru the end of 1 Simpson's episode playing on the TV, then saw a whole new episode, then the beginning of the 3rd episode started by the time we got our food!!! We were here about an hour & 15 minutes all together. They weren't crowded, there were still many open tables, they just had more people than usual with just 1 waiter and 1 bus boy. We were so annoyed at the slow service! I guess it was more the cook's fault than the waiters fault but it will be a while before we go back. And again with that awful fish tank!!! Now it sits there still dirty and disgusting with NO FISH in it, unless the water is so damn dirty you can't even see them anymore. I don't know, I won't look at it. The pho isn't bad. It came in a big, steaming hot bowl. I wasn't able to finish it because there was a lot. The vegetables were fresh and plentiful. I chose not to eat the basil and requested cilantro instead. The waiter was quick to respond with my request. They don't put too much beef in the soup. It could have used a little more. I got it well done... it was a little tough to chew so I don't recommend asking for it well done. I also got spring rolls. You receive two good sized spring rolls. I've had these my whole life so I'm kind of picky. They were kind of plain. Inside the rice paper was shrimp, head lettuce and carrots. I've never had carrots in my S.R. Instead the ones I've eaten have some mint and some other asian vegetable, which looks like grass ( I have no idea what it's called), but these add a lot of flavor. Without these two items, the S.R. are just bland. The peanut sauce that came with it was good though and consistent with what I am used to. I would recommend the pho here. There aren't a lot of options in La Mirada. This was the closest one to my house and being that I was feeling a bit under the weather, a nice hot bowl of pho soup sounded like the perfect remedy. Everything here was simply meh--the spring rolls lacked the pork slices that usually go in them, the pho noodles were all lumped together, and we got two limes for our two bowls of pho. I think I'm going to stick to my work area for good Pho...unless of course, I discover another Pho place in La Mirada! read more

I don't know why there are so many haters on here. The servers are very nice (including the owners). I eat pho about once a week on average, mainly in Westminster and Alhambra/Monterey Park. I think the noodles here are the chewiest. I like my pho noodles chewy. Oh...and the soup base is not as oily as some other places (you can tell by the oil drops on top of the soup in most places). They also have a variety of other rice dishes and sandwiches, but I usually prefer to stick with the pho. read more

I love coming to Pho Saigon with my brother their Pho is consistently delicious. We always get an order of egg rolls it's a must they are the best ones I've had. Our waitress today was super nice I asked her for extra lemons and she gave them to me with no problem. And if you like Thai iced tea they make a killer one.
