Pure disgusting people, been supporting this place ever since we moved to Sacramento but today was the last straw. This lady right here didn't say a word when we walked in and didn't bring us a menu or anything. A few minutes later a group of Vietnamese family walked in and she greeted them right away and brought them menu's. Then I called her over to take our order (did I even need to do that?) So she took our order and of course she brings the Vietnamese family's food out first when she clearly took our order first. Talk about being super racist. She was asking me so many questions. Made me felt bad for not coming here anymore. I realize the pricing has not change much. It felt like I am paying way less than other pho places in Elk Grove. Good pho that hit the spot! I got a medium with rare steak and well done brisket, boyfriend got the medium combo, and his brother got the large combo. We also got 3 sodas and 1 Thai tea, and our total came out to around $75 after tip which was really shocking..I'm not sure if we got overcharged or if my boyfriend left a larger tip since I didn't really get to look at the bill..at least the food was good. This place has been here forever. One of the first Pho restaurants established that people feel welcome to walk in. From all nations patrons flock here on any good days. From morning to night the soups are traditionally ethnical tasting. Some of the Pho offer here are good. The Pho is truly very good, as is the service. Lunch is very popular less do dinner. The prices are also very reasonable. My favorite pho is Pho Tai. Although the meat ball style pho is very delicious I enjoy the traditional pho. Do remember to add the Hoison sauce, lemon and whatever vegetables end up on the serving plate. But I would advise against the jalapeno slices. read more

You have to raise your hand for everything but it's not a deal breaker. Ambience hasn't changed much but it's not the end of the world. The only gripe I have about this spot is the location. Pho Saigon has been my family's favorite pho spot for quite some time. They always have tables available and it usually doesn't take very long to get your food. We stopped in on Friday morning with a group of 10 of us. We were quickly seated and orders were taken. I think their AC is currently broken because they had a huge fan blowing. It was very distracting because of the loud noise and also the air was drying my contacts out. We noticed that they had fly traps around their lamps too! This was just disgusting...to know that they have a fly problem like that but also to see the dead flies stuck to their lamps...& there were plenty of them. Is this even within health/safety codes? I had their shrimp chow fun, which never disappoints. Their chow fun is my favorite because it isn't overly oily and the flavors are all there. I don't usually feel like I need to add siracha because it's so good. They will charge you "per person". Our group ordered 2 iced coffees, 3 medium, 1 small, and 1 large bowl. Additionally asked for an empty small bowl (big enough to fit the palm of my hands) for the child in our group. So realistically, we order 7 items. The meal was fine, although the two servers had a confusion of what each bowl was and I'm not entirely sure if we even got the correct order. After the two ladies disputed amongst each other for ~2mins, we were too hungry at this point and said it was fine and ate whatever bowl they placed in front of us. After we went to pay, we noticed that there was an additional $13 charge that we didn't recognize, which was the price of a medium bowl. We went to the cashier, who was always one of the servers, and asked if they had accidentally charged us another bowl. "You have 6 bowls, 6 bowls!", she says. Even though we only ordered 5 bowls. We were not given a proper explanation, partly due to language barriers. But over and over again the servers were saying that we had 6 people so we got charged 6 bowls instead of 5. It's possible we weren't aware of being charged $13 extra dollars for the SMALL SIDE BOWL we got, but that's totally absurd and unheard of. And any place that will charge PER PERSON rather than the food you actually order is a place that is literally there to rip you off. I wish I could give this place a 0/5. Safe yourself some money, go to the newer Pho restaurants that are open around the are. Do NOT believe in the saying, "the best places to eat are the ones with 3-3.5 stars." The beef pho at this restaurant is always quality, consistently served in massive portions with a very generous quantity of meat. Service and cleanliness is typical of what to expect from traditional Vietnamese restaurants, nothing spectacular. Tip: Portions are huge, select size carefully. Let's start with the wait time upon arrival. There is none. There's so much seating, you could bring your entire family, or estranged family, I'm not here to judge. The service is pretty quick: they take your order, and you get your food within 5 minutes. I mean, there isn't much to it and that's what good service should be like everywhere. They do accept card so don't worry about holding onto cash. Payments are made at the counter, but be sure the person assisting you is the manager (typically a middle-aged guy) as he's the only one who knows which order is yours. In the wise words of our modern-day philosopher Earl Tywone Stevens Sr. aka E-40, "all them other places are sugar-coated and watered down." This is one of the few (and better) pho places in the area that's even remotely close to San Jose/Westminster Viet food, specifically pho. There was a homeless guy outside that came in to make a scene and one of the workers went KKK on him. The restrooms are filthy. The floor is disgusting.
