Pho was great. Warm, salty, with lots of noodles, meat, and broth. Opted for the normal size and it was still a huge portion. Probably could opt to split a normal size for two people with small appetites. But it was super tasty and relatively affordable. The restaurant is busy but service is quick. 5/5 for the food. I've been here four times in the past two months. It's one of my all time favorites for pho. The space is large and the service is prompt. But man, sometimes the service is so mean. I told them I ordered wide noodles and she just denied me and told me I didn't. The second time the same thing happened and she didn't replace my pho. she just brought me a bowl of wide noodles so I could pick out my normal rice noodles and replace it myself. I brought my kid and asked her if I could get a peanut sauce without hot sauce in it and she told me to spoon it out myself. They are spicy here. But the pho is too good. Amazing pho in the chinatown area! I've grown up in Houston my whole life but had never heard of this place. Granted, I wasn't browsing around for pho places, but no one had ever talked about it. They really aren't stingy here. The rare steak melted in my mouth easily, and the brisket was so tender. The other cuts (tripe, tendon, and meatball) were fairly good too. Broth was delicious. PHO DUOI BO, OXTAIL PHO Each bowl came with five pieces of oxtail, which was fatty and meaty, and the broth was so deep and rich without being overly salty. Between the two bowls, I prefer the broth in the oxtail pho. I think five pieces of oxtail is a bit too much for me, but I'm glad I was sharing it with two others. Overall, really good and flavorful broth, lots of meat in every bowl, plenty of garnish, and we were decently full after. Additionally, the texture of the noodles were perfect -- a bit chewy and did not leave any starchy residue in the broth. We barely left any broth behind because it was worth inhaaling. This is definitely the most noodles I've ever had in a bowl of pho. The slices of meat are humongous with thin fat strips too. Pho Sapa has been hyped up to me for months by several friends and Vietnamese families, so I finally made an excuse to make a Bellaire day with some friends and try it out. Time to Pho: 14 Minutes I ordered a large pho with four custom meats (like a dac biet (special) without the tripe, since I'm not a tripe fan). Got three types of brisket and the meatballs. Broth: 2.5/5 - Might be the most overhyped broth I've had. It's...remarkably standard. Not much intensity from the spices or bone marrow or anything else they might steep it with. If anything, I got hit with saltiness more than anything else, which mellowed out with the normal lime, hoisin, and touch of Sriracha. Noodles: 4/5 - Quite flavorful and near perfect texture. The large bowl has a good amount of noodle, but I've had bigger bowls before. Meats: 4/5 - The brisket types were all true to name and quite tender, with the lean brisket being a tad dry. The portion here for a regular bowl is actually regular. Not super large. I finished my bowl and I was still hungry. Could be cause I'm a breastfeeding mama but I could still eat. The cuts of meat seem to be pretty good quality. I actually liked pho sapa more than pho dien. My husband ordered the hu tieu and he liked what he got. I didn't mind the wait, if anything I prefer a busier spot because that means other folks like it and they're turning over the ingredients more which paves way to freshness. The dac biet (combo) pho was a solid 4/5. Clean and flavorful broth. I did want extra meat though so I ordered a side of oxtail. The oxtail was cold and not tender at all, very tough and chewy, which means they didn't cook it long enough. The other components of the pho were nice though, I was just sad that the oxtail was a miss. Portions wise, their large bowl seemed more like a medium in comparison to other spots. Service could've been better. They mixed up our orders and instead of offering to make a new bowl of what we wanted we felt pressured into just accepting the bowl they served us. My family had lunch here couple of weeks ago. We've been to this restaurant numerous times. It's one of our "go-to" pho places, definitely one of the better ones we've found in Houston. The pho soup is very smooth, clean and herbaceous. Adding their signature hot sauce (must ask for it) and some lime really helps to elevate the flavor. The quantity is also very generous. This is usually my go to spot for pho, but I was very disappointed today. The restaurant is relatively clean and the staff is friendly. I noticed that the menu didn't have prices for the spring rolls or eggrolls and the prices were covered by paper stickers. I decided to order the eggrolls anyway, and they ended up being $10 for 4 eggrolls. That's a lot for mediocre eggrolls. The oxtail pho was flavorful, but my son noticed a small sliver of metal attached to a piece of oxtail. The waitress apologized and said that it was probably from preparing the meat. She ended up bringing us a tiny bowl of soup with some tiny oxtails as an apology. It's hard to give high marks in a review when there are metal fragments in your food and you're not offered a replacement or refund.
