Been waiting for this new location to open so I could check it out. Had the beef ball noodle pho and the egg rolls. The pho was good as usual. I add chili paste and lemon to mine for some extra flavor. The egg rolls were super good. I dip them in a mixture of oyster sauce and some sriracha. Oh yaaa. The bf gets all fancy and wraps his egg rolls in the lettuce with the veggies they provide. That got a bit too messy for me. Service was good. Seemed like the wait staff were all young and I didn't recognize them from the Reseda location. They were nice and attentive. Would definitely be back to this new location. read more

The Pho So joints on Reseda Blvd really turned me off to the food. It's just so dirty over there. I'm a-ok now!! Pho So 1 in West Hills is nice, new, and clean!!!!!! The service is insanely fast. This is probably the cheapest pho place I've been through being from the Central Valley (Bakersfield area) The combo pho was alright. The broth was light & flavorful, but bummed out about no meatballs... I also got the #83, char boiled pork chops w/ sunny side eggs w/ rice. The flavor of the pork chops was delicious BUT the amount they give you is the amount you give a child... ~not very balanced proportions~ Too much rice, two sliced cucumbers, some tomatoes,two sunny side eggs (over cooked & not runny), & the pork chops the size one of my hands. The seating was fast, but the parking is terrible. VERY COMPACT parking, and cars aren't always inside the line so ‍. Is this the best pho ever I've ever had? Of course not. That would be in Saigon, Vietnam (Pho 2000 if you're curious, right next to Ben Thanh Market). But does this meet my pho craving? Absolutely! Come here once a month at least. Almost as good as if I were in Little Saigon in Westminster. I'm partial to Bún ch giò tht nng or the #45 pork rice vermicelli bowl with egg roll and fish sauce. We also order multiple ch giò (egg rolls - #100) and they are some of the best we've ever had. My wife likes the brisket and well done flank pho (#11) with hoisen, sriracha, and lime added. Open early (9 am) as the Vietnamese eat pho for breakfast and into the evening until 9:30. Service is always fast and efficient. They could check on you more often but that's not the Asian way. Good feel for a pho restaurant. Quick, easy, has that used feel, but it's what you want from a good pho place. It's not a date place but a pho place people! read more

The nearest Vietnamese restaurant to me is 9021Pho. I just couldn't do it. Craving something a bit more authentic, I did some yelping. I found Pho So 1, and made the drive to West Hills. Pho just went West. Pretty soon you'll find one at the Calabasas Commons - Naw, they'll never let that happen. Baby steps, and this one is a step in the right direction. Menu is the same as other Pho places. Taste and quality is also on par with the better ones. I ordered the same thing - #1, which is the combo pho and a thai iced tea. Thai tea was too sweet, but was ok after diluting with a full glass of ice water. This place is relatively new, so it's cleaner than most other Vietnamese restaurants. Soooooo glad they opened a pho place close to home, otherwise I'd have to drive an extra 3 or 4 miles to eat pho. I had the bun w/shrimp and veggies and side of egg rolls and lettuce leaves to wrap and iced coffee. The coffee tasted really sweet even though it was iced,so you have to add more water and somehow it had that extra something in it that I can't quite figure; like some sort of filler . I definitely prefer Starbucks iced coffee with soy and honey anytime. But I thought the food was good, pretty comparable to other pho places. I ordered #17 pho tai and a beef egg noodle. Both were really good and the service was very fast. Their egg noodle soups are so full of flavor! I'm definitely come back here. We ate here around 9pm on a Monday. The only thing I found rude was that after two times of asking for a refill because we're heavy water drinkers, one of the servers just brought a pitcher and placed it on the table and walked away with a rude look on his face. FINALLY! A legit-ish place to get pho for anyone north of Van Nuys. Parking is plentiful and this place is pretty big. Prices were pho standard: $6.55 for a small bowl (not sure how large the large is). Food comes out quickly and piping hot. The standard fixins come with the pho, and there's the standard sriracha and hoisin, chopsticks, and spoons sitting on the table for you. They even have the standard tissue-napkins, where you need to grab at least 2 to be effective! The taste was pretty good, but I'm no pho expert. It's definitely the most legit pho I've ever had in the nearby area (anything with tendons and tripe will do it). This place has great service, but it seems like there's only one guy running around (literally running). Poor guy-- be careful! Pho So1 easily makes its way to my top five favorite Pho restaurants. Everytime I go there the food is always on point. The two dishes I always get are the fried egg rolls and the number 1 Pho. Pho So 1 is very popular and this is the newest of their 7 locations. They're all over the valley with the exception of their Las Vegas and Hawaiian Gardens locations. You can count on the service, they're friendly and efficient. When you arrive you are seated right away despite the almost always full house. The average bowl of pho costs around $6.50 and the egg rolls you can order by the piece or you can say small or large for an order. It's casual and clean, the perfect place for a family meal or just go pick some up to go. I think their pho broth is some of the best I've had in the states. read more

So I guess my conclusion with this place is to not order to go. My last review I got a delivery order and asked for extra broth and instead they left a lot of broth missing from the container. This time I went in and told them about that experience and specifically asked that the soup be filled up this time because I don't eat much of the noodles, just the soup. The dish is so good. I love their porkchop. It's so sumptous and mouth watering. Were just fortunate that there's not much costumer. So we got our food very fast. It was good 'cause I'm very hungry :) The place is very clean. The only thing I notice is that the servers are not that warm. Still our go to Vietnamese place. Just wanted to tweak my rating to make room for recent issues. Nothing bad, just not great, in terms of service and stuff. Nothing worth mentioning. Yet. But I tried their rice soup with chicken. It was really good. It tasted just like Filipino arrozcaldo. Like spot on. This will be my "sick" dish for takeout when I'm sick. They use chicken breast meat, small enough pieces of ginger that you can actually eat and not be annoyed by catching the ginger. And the soup comes with this fried donut-like bread, without sugar. It's almost like a beignet without sugar. Bonus surprise that comes with the soup! Really good. And their avocado shake is real, fresh avocado, not powder. That's awesome ;) read more

Had high hopes for this place but it was just ehhh. The place was nice and modern but the food was just okay. I ordered my standard beef pho and my friend got her standard chicken pho. We wanted to order egg rolls but my friend doesn't eat pork so instead went with the veggie spring rolls. They asked if we wanted tofu in it, which I don't mind but my friend who is a picky eater said no. Little did we know that was all that was in the spring roll. Our pho came out first and it was pretty average. The spring roll came out and it was basically just noodles and lettuce. There were no carrots or daikon or whatever is usually in a veggie roll. The chicken pho was only $7.05, which I think is an affordable price for pho. And the pork vermicelli with an eggroll was $7.45. I really liked my lunch, although, I left behind a lot of meat.
