Decorated for Christmas! Very clean, the menus, the bathroom, the floor, door handles everything. They don't even use "community" chiu chili sauce like most restaurants, which I always find germy and off putting. You can tell they love and take care of this business. This was one of the nicest pho restaurants I've been to. The #13 Pho was tasty. The broth was light and didn't weigh me down afterwards. The vermicelli bowl had a good ratio of pork, egg roll and shrimp/veggies. The pork was tender and nicely charbroiled. The decor is so nice and cohesive. Have been eyeing this place for a while, today was the day to give it a try.... WHY DID I WAIT!! My order: 1. Pho #10; thee most delicious base, juicy soup, tender meat I've ever had.... 2. Char Beef Sandwich; the bread was soft but crispy and the veggies were so fresh and the meat was Smokey but tender and full of flavor...yum yum goodness. 3. Beef SpringRolls; I fell in love with the combination, I've never seen it served this way I mean so simple but damn sooo good, the peanut sauce was Bomb!! 4. Beef egg rolls; Perfect crisp, not oily at all, the flavor was just perfect and the sauce which looked like water was sweet but not too sweet I mean it complimented the egg roll and it was just oh so good!!.... We had been supporting our local Chinese, Japanese, and Korean small businesses and we wanted to also support a Vietnamese family business, too. We called in our order at 11:45 a.m. while still on the 91 freeway going east. Younger daughter had wanted spring rolls, but unfortunately the owner said that they did not have their complete menu yet. They did have the house specialty of diced garlic steak with butter rice. We also ordered the charbroiled shrimp and pork with egg rolls with vermicelli noodles and steamed rice and 2 Thai teas. It would be about 25 minutes. The owner asked if I had been to the restaurant before because it is tucked in to the corner of this shopping center. We had. It was one of the first Vietnamese restaurants we visited when my girls started attending the university in Riverside. He said to look for the KFC which is out front. I went in and let them know that I was there to pick up my order. The owner got my order slip and processed the payment. He let me know that they just needed to do the 2 Thai teas. I noticed there were quite a few parties eating in and that the booths were all now partitioned with plexiglass. The restaurant gave a clean, sterile feel and the entire staff was wearing face masks. Even so, the murals and decorations are star quality. The wife gave me an additional drink to try. The food was so fragrant. We couldn't wait to get back to the university to have our brunch. The diced garlic steak with butter rice was rich. The garlic and onions gave the beef chunks great flavor. The egg rolls were crunchy with plenty of meat in the filling. The charbroiled shrimp and pork were grilled just right so they were not burnt. The cucumbers in the small accompanying salads were refreshing. It was good to revisit one of our favorite Vietnamese restaurants in Riverside. read more

I loved this place. My friend and I ordered their rare steak pho and their vegetarian spring rolls. The pho was hot and flavorful and the perfect size. In my experience a lot of places offer sizes way too small or way too big, this place was just right. The egg rolls were fried perfectly, not too greasy and packed with delicious veggies. I've been going to this Pho store ever since I was a child. For me, the food is nostalgic. The quality of the noodle dishes has remained consistently good for years, and I don't think it's going to change any time soon. My family and I have tried other Pho places in the area. I'll be the first to admit that Pho restaurants are really up to personal preference, and can vary from person to person. This one really shines in its quality of ingredients and service. I have nothing to complain about the ingredients. The Pho topping plate is complete with the usual beansprouts, lime, basil, and spare pepper. When I was younger I really liked the tripe soup, though I know the rest of my family doesn't like tripe, so experiment if you want. The staff there is family owned, last I checked. They haven't changed since I was little, and they're always super nice. A few years back they completely upgraded the atmosphere of the restaurant, giving a cool theme to the wallpaper, decor, and presentation of the place. Nowadays, it's probably the only Pho place that I can enjoy the interior design while I chow down on noodles or fried rice. Overall rating, solid 10/10. read more

I don't take away from what everyone is saying...place is clean, food quality Is okay and I did love the decor everyone mentions. I'm just disappointed in the portions and presentation. I think Pho Star Bowl is one of my most frequented lunch places, particularly because I work not too far from here. I am in love with pretty much every aspect of Pho Star Bowl: the flavor and quality of the food, the ambiance, the service. I think I need not repeat what others have mentioned regarding the food; it's just good! I have had a couple of different pho dishes, vermicelli dishes, bahn mis, spring rolls... and all are great! The staff are always friendly and take care of the customers. As odd as it may be, I think the ambiance is one of my favorites; I love the decor and the quotes, and even the music. I will venture out and say that this is my favorite place in Riverside, and one of my two favorites in the Inland Empire. I honestly cannot believe we have such a good place in Riverside, and that I do not have to drive to Westminster or Garden Grove to fulfill my cravings for good Vietnamese food. Nuoc mam fresh. the spring roll sauce was so delicious, so fresh. Knocking down a star for some really rushed-lurking-odd pressure to order. It was an empty resto lunchtime, not ready to close. I asked for time three times, after i rapidly ordered a V.coffee and grilled pork rolls had to ask for five minutes since they kept returning rapidly without us getting to familiarize ourselves with new menu. Im hoping that service will improve as more ppl come back to eating in. Dont skip this spot. This place is tucked in a Corner across the street for the tylor mall. Although it isn't the greatest location it's still worth a shot to come try it. When I walked in the wall decor was unique with images of movie stars in the wall. In addition the have images of inspirational quotes of kids and father. Ambiance was quiet and dark kinda romantic style. Now let's get to the food. Egg rolls are defiantly something I think you should get. Felt homemade and doesn't have the typical restaurant quality's There food had good flavor however the potion size is lacking. Everything we order was delicious from beef and rice to vermicelli noodle over beef. Next time I come I'll try there pho because that's what everyone on yelp raves about. Pho Star Bowl is the best Pho restaurant in Riverside. Not only is the pho, pho-nomenal, the service is always excellent. The inside is beautiful as well. We've been going since before their renovation and it has always been consistent with the quality. I do wish they had Pho Dac Biet when we last visited. I was surprised to see that I don't have a review of my most frequented pho restaurant in the IE (at least two dozen occasions). Many other options have opened in Riverside since I started coming here, but there's a reason it's still on my list of go-to's! This place is located in a dilapidated strip mall with Koreana Grill and a KFC. The parking is tough unless you go to the back area past the restaurant but the interior of the restaurant is surprisingly modern and fairly big. I've never had to wait more than a few minutes during lunch time and the service is always good if a bit terse. I rarely get anything but the 'special' pho (a.k.a. the one with all the ingredients) and I'm usually quite happy with it here. Quantity and quality of beef both above the bar and the large is a decent size. Noodles are always a good consistency and the broth is good. The BBQ pork with rice or bun is also pretty good. read more

On the way home from Coachella, my friends and I had to refuel and settled on Pho Star Bowl. We had a large group and we arrived lunch time, it wasn't too busy. Inside the interior was nice, modern. The guy who served us who was prolly the owner/manager of the restaurant was very welcoming. The service was A1, they made us feel like we're at home, like family. As for the food, they have a wide variety. Portions are huge, you're def getting your money's worth here. *Steak w/butter rice - steak was soft and tender, rice just taste like normal rice but the steak had great flavors, wouldn't mind ordering it again. Pho Star Bowl reminds of the my local Vietnamese restaurant but this was probably thee best service I've had at a Vietnamese restaurant.
