Best pho in da Rich, broth is tasty, large servings and quick service. The beef pho and bun bo hue are excellent. What impressed me was the variety of items they had on the menu. Place has plenty of seating (2 sections) and they have a couple of TVs that show sports games. Parking lot is small but I usually just park on the street next to the place. Tl;dr: Worst service I've ever had. Waitress didn't give me the large serving of pho I ordered because she didn't think I could finish it. Argued with me and yelled at me when I requested a large again. Food is subpar. I've never been to a pho restaurant where they serve you 50% thinly sliced pieces of fat and 50% meat. Full version: My boyfriend visited this restaurant multiple times several years ago prior to the restaurant changing ownership. He recommended the restaurant to me for the food and the service he had in the past. Although we saw the more recent negative reviews on Yelp, we decided to try it out. We entered the restaurant and stood around for a minute not knowing where to go because it was absolutely empty. That wasn't a problem, maybe they were busy. A waitress soon came out, sat us down, brought the menu and water and took our order. My boyfriend and I both ordered a LARGE bowl of pho. The owner lady came out and took over our orders and relayed it to the kitchen staff. Kitchen staff double checked and I heard her confirm again that we ordered 2 LARGE bowls. Once the food came out I immediately noticed that my bowl was smaller. No biggie, maybe there was some miscommunication. I flagged down the owner and explained that I ordered a LARGE. Instead of apologizing or correcting said mistake, she said she got me a REGULAR size (which is smaller than the large.) I said I wanted a LARGE. This lady starts doubling down, opening the menu and saying that the only difference between the large and regular is that the large had more noodles. I again told her that I wanted a LARGE because I WANTED more noodles. This lady keeps on going; she asked me if I'm sure because the large is a dollar extra. I again politely requested a large because WHY would I order something I don't want???? The lady finally huffs and yells at me, "Fine! I'll get you some more noodles to make your order large. It's $1 extra!" She comes out of the kitchen in less than a minute with a bowl of noodles and puts it on our table. "There! Here's your bowl of extra noodles." After thanking her, she disappeared and never visited our table again. Honestly, this was the worst customer service I've ever encountered. Why would you argue with a paying customer if they wanted a more expensive dish? Who cares if you don't think she can't finish it? For the record, I finished the whole bowl and ate every single noodle she gave me because I was hungry and I knew I could eat a large serving. The food itself also sucked. This is the first pho restaurant I've visited that would serve thinly sliced pieces of fat hidden with the nicer slices of meat on top. They didn't even serve that much meat either and it honestly looked like scraps. I will never visit this place again and encourage others to avoid this place. I used to love their grilled porkchop rice plates because they were soo juicy and perfectly cooked. NOW, all you get is a burnt piece of meat...you know, the kind that when you bite into it, you get those tiny strings of meat stuck between your teeth because it's soo tough like old dried out jerky!! Yeah, that bad! And what can I say about their pho?! Well, I absolutely don't know what happened but it feels like they got lazy and just opened up a can of beef broth and boiled it on the stove. The flavor in their pho tastes like it contains lots of MSG and after eating it after 5 min, I just got so tired of it! Blaahh. When I ordered their fried eggroll, it was nearly burnt AND they even raised the price because it used to be cheaper before. Now it's 4 eggrolls for $5.75 I think. My bf used to always order their avocado smoothie because they'd use real actual avocados, however, with all these cutbacks it seems and prices being raised, I won't be surprised if they started using powder for their so-called fruit tapioca smoothies. This place is close to my house and opens really early and closes really late. Mon-Sunday (closed on Wed). I come here at least 3-4 times a month. The broth is more authentic and not as "msg'd". The portion size is big and worth the price, whereas other places charge at least 6$ for a small bowl of pho. Some of the items my family orders all the time are: -Beef with tripe pho- noodles are good, tripe is plentiful, meat is tender -order #1 (the one with all the meats + XL bowl)- this order is HUGE and full of meats. Sometimes the meat is greater than the noodle. -thin pork slices with grilled shrimp over rice- the grilled pork is superb with rice. -Mi Bo Kho (Vietnamese beef stew) with Egg noodle- the beef is cooked so long that it practically breaks off with a stab of a chop stick. -Spring Rolls- always made fresh with very fresh herbs and seafood. -Pork chop with grilled chicken with an over easy egg over rice- this order right here is Food for CHAMPIONS! eat this, and you'll either a)have enough for the next meal or b) not have to eat for HOURS upon Hours. or c) like my grandma says, "this can feed me and your grandpa for days!". some of the drinks I usually order: -Vietnamese Ice Coffee - Fresh squeezed lemonade -purple taro boba (Super good) I've also seen a lot of people order the avocado boba.. However, they water down both the sriracha and hoisin sauce at the table (which is why they get 4 stars, not 5, for soup). The language barrier was very difficult, they took forever to ask for our order and to serve it (even drinks), and they completely forgot to bring the spring rolls we ordered! I've had pho here, and I've had bun bo hue here, but it's been a while and I don't know either dish well enough to say whether it is authentic or not, but I will say I like the bun no hue, even if it looks different from those of other places I've had it at. Us and the Vietnamese might be homeland-neighbors but there's an international border between us for a reason. And for that reason, I can't tell you if the beef stew(hu tieu kho bo?) is authentic either. However, I will write a review for the dish for one reason, and it's not because I like it - I do like it, but that's beside the point-, but because the spices and the beef brought forth this taste element that reminds me of the beef stew that I can find in Hong Kong. The cuts are just like those of HK's restaurants too. Good number of meat chunks, a piece or two that contains the tough yellow belly lining. They don't have the tendon-y pieces, but that's understandable given the anti-tendon sentiments folks hold here. I like the tendon-y pieces though. What can I say? One of my fave childhood Vietnamese restaurants and it was always a good time until an accident happened where my sister saw a fly in her pho bowl and then after that, we haven't gone since and they changed the name of their restaurant which is now the current name Pho Thai Hung. Only flaws were when we were seated we didn't get our menus until we asked for them and while we were trying to enjoy our meal, most of the employees were having a loud conversation right beside us and when we ordered to go, one of the employees we asked, told someone else to go get it. I ordered the Mi Xao Thap Cam, which is always good. A while since I had it but I'm in love with my veggies lol. As a Vietnamese person myself, I am quite pleased with the authenticity of their pho, rice plates, and vermicelli bowls. The sandwiches and cafe sua da (Viet iced coffee) are also great. Portions and quality have been consistently above average for at least 2 years (since I've been eating here). i was there yesterday and this restaurant had BOOSTED their prices SUBSTANCIALLY.... and they didn't bring us tea as they normally do (free), so i asked for tea. when i went to pay, they charged me $3 for a pot of tea. i suggested that they should advise customers and ARGUED the point. and they lied that they always charged for tea in the past. i have been a long standing customer at this place and they lied to "prop up" their price increases when they didn't have to do that! A few friends were out bike bar hopping on Saturday and wanted some Pho, so we saw this place was listed as still open, and biked about 1.5 miles to get there. We walk in at 9:20 and they waved us off and said they were closed. I protested and said it was clearly marked as open til 10, they were really rude and just said no, you can order togo. Since we were starving, we got some Pho and at it in their parking lot in some chairs sitting out there, and they chased us off from there too.
