Why am I just NOW experiencing the best Pho Dallas has to offer?? After reading a couple of the other yelp reviews about Pho Truong, I decided to take the chance and try it! Pho Truong is located in the Richardson area near Arapaho and highway 75 in a shopping strip. My search for the best pho in Dallas is now over after today! My friend and I both ordered the combination Pho (Pho Dac Biet) and the shrimp spring rolls. After my first taste of my pho.....all I can say is WOW! My fellow yelpers were on point with the reviews and I was soooo happy as a result of my recent discovery. Also, the price was affordable and the service was great! The pho broth contained soooo much flavor and can't be compared to any other place in town. Is it normal to be salivating while writing a review? I just did haha! I use to be a regular for Pho Bac but the waves have shifted me to Pho Truong now! I strongly recommend coming here for Pho and would even make the drive. It was such a treat to come here the first time today for a long leisurely lunch. I do not know where to start on why it scored a five but my two cents: The service was phenomenal. It was medium crowded but I was waited on by three different team members, and my understanding family members. My water glass never went empty, yet I did not feel hovered on. I felt welcomed, appreciated, and very VERY comfortable. The food was OUTSTANDING and on par or above the three other Vietnamese restaurants I have visited lately. I sniffed (walked) around to see what the other diners were enjoying and all of them looked terrific and appealing. I ordered the Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio. Or grilled pork and freshly cooked egg-roll over Vermicelli and an abundance of fresh Vietnamese goodies such as daikon, mint and cucumber. The owner came by and explained the wait was because they fry the egg-rolls only when ordered. Never re-heated. But there was no wait that I was aware of. What an attractive and polished owner and hostess! My primary hostess was a DELIGHT and brought me a sample of the bubble tea. This will be my new obsession! They keep the specialty drink's limited on the menu, but can make or match any competitors. The combination of drinks would be in the thousands given the base drink and then the add ins. In any case, my very large bowl was empty when I left as was the complimentary bubble tea. The atmosphere was luxurious without being pretentious. You can tell this is a newly constructed space because of the lavish attention to customer comfort and convenience. The air-conditioning was OUTSTANDING despite a glass curtain wall and the massive flat-screen TV's were set to closed captioning and no volume so you could enjoy conversations and the food. Parking was abundant and the interior and kitchen (I looked) were immaculate. No funny smells and no garish fluorescent lighting showcasing photo's of menu items. Comfort and approachable luxury! Loved the free and secured WIFI!My pretty hostess helped me set up the password for my phone. That was appreciated! At Mumtaz no one including the owner knows the password. And this amazed me - not just free WIFI but free ethernet connections built inconspicuously into the wall. This place will surely become a favorite of the tony UTD (University of Texas Dallas in Richardson) campus as they love comfortable surroundings, tea and coffee drinks and good potent free WIFI! If you are a UTD or other student, this should be your new home. I rarely give 5 star reviews, but this place deserves it. The curse of being old and hung over is usually remedied by a bowl of pho. With that in mind, we wanted to try a new place. Now, we've eaten so many bowls of pho in our lives that I like to think the bf and I can tell which places are good. Houston typically has badass pho, so this place is definitely is a contender to that. Broth was just the perfect amount of saltiness and very savory. The surprising star of the show was the egg rolls. Same deal, we've eaten a shit ton of egg rolls in our short lives. This place took the cake for egg rolls served at a pho place. It was cooked perfectly, full of meat and flavor. My bf quickly exclaimed to the waitress how great they were so I guess it got back to the owner. She was a real gem. She came out and spoke to us in viet explaining the care that went into the egg rolls. She was a little distraught by reviewer that complained that it was a little pink in the middle. She explained that's because they use crab as well as pork so it's suppose to be pink. We told her not to worry about one review because this place is deserving of all the accolades. She reminded me of my bf's aunt, super sweet and genuine. She loved her craft of providing authentic Vietnamese food and it showed. We are definitely coming back to try the other dishes. Come come! My family and I have been coming to this restaurant for years. The staff know us well, and are always so sweet to us. Their pho is delicious- the vegetables are always so fresh and their broth is amazing. The chicken curry pho is also a favorite. Clean place with Homemade quantity. This is the best Pho that I ever had in a long long time (at the restaurants). Generous quantity of meat and very flavorful broth. Fresh veggies, but I wish to have some culantro (ngo gai) for my Pho. We had their pho twice in 3 days while we were visiting Dallas and surrounding areas...yep, it was delicious. What I really like about this restaurant was the atmosphere- sophisticated ,sultry and elegant with 3 beautiful ladies named "Phung, Anna and Ngan as waitress" The place is Upscale and authentic? Great place! Good food! Great ambiance and nice service. I just have one little issue is when we got the Bhanu-mi with grilled chicken, the chicken was not the greatest tasting although the bread was delish. I wish the sauce was a little more flavored and spicy. Vietnamese Bahn-mi is supposed to have bursts of flavors which this one was lacking. I would recommend the vegan Tofu Pho. It was mind blowing with the veggies. I wish there was more broth and some mushrooms. Nevertheless it was tasty. Curry chicken fried rice was sub par. I guess we expected far more chicken in the rice and barely got a few itsy bitsy pieces which didn't really have the curry flavor. I guess they must have just sautéed grilled chicken at the end or something. The rice was well made and pretty good tbh. The addition of egg was not worth it since we barely saw pieces of that either. Felt it was more of a vegetable curry fried rice with drizzles of chicken and egg! This place is conveniently located right off the freeway in a strip mall. The parking lot is small, but it was no problem finding parking. The interior is not small, but not huge either and we had our pick of tables on a Sunday night. there were a good amount of white people eating here and English is spoken well. We had the usual pho tai and goi cuon. They were both excellent. First off, the portion sizes were nice and big and the broth rich and had minimal oil and fat. The ratio of veggies to meat and vermicelli inside the goi cuon was good too. I didn't realize they sold sandwiches here until seeing some of the pictures in other reviews, but I would like to give those a try at some point. We will be back! read more

The pho is pretty legit here. I'd rate it in my top 3 for Dallas (the pho scene here is weak compared to Houston). I've had the "P1" Pho Dac Biet (special pho translated) a couple times now and it's excellent. The large is perfect size for lunch if you're hungry. The ratio of noodles, meat, and garnishes is right but I wish there was a little more of the delicious broth. I wanted to try the Bun Bo Hue but when I asked the staff whether to get that or the pho, they said the pho. Prices are slightly higher than Vietnamese spots in Garland but it's closer so I'm adding this place to my regular lunch rotation. Update: The chicken curry pho is pretty awesome. The coconut milk and curry infused broth is flavorful and has just the right amount of spiciness. I had the mixed dark/white meat and my only complaint would be that the dark meat looked like shredded leftover scraps from other dishes and was littered with bits of cartilage. Even though I lived 20 mins away from Viet town back in VA, there is no longer a decent pho restaurant. These places were adding too much water to their broth making it bland and cloying. I had lost all hope in pho places. Therefore, I was super excited to try Pho Truong because of its high ratings. And yes, it did live up to its hype. Some hope is (finally) restored. Pho Truong is your typical family-owned Vietnamese restaurants - it's low-key, humble, and serves authentic pho. Unlike typical Vietnamese restaurants, it's nicely decorated, accepts cards (this is a huge bonus) and has wonderful customer service (trust me, this is rare of asian, family-owned restaurants). SERVICE: 5 (!!!) Our server was great! Not only was he attentive and kept making sure we're okay/refilling our waters, but he made a great salesman! He convinced us to get the sample platter of egg/spring rolls and then convinced us to end our meal with some vietnamese coffee. Major kudos. FOOD: 4 1. Sample platter consisted of the typical shrimp spring roll, a thit nuong (beef) spring roll, and a crispy egg roll. It came with fish sauce and hoisin/peanut butter sauce for dipping. The shrimp roll was good, but the shrimp was too thinly sliced. The thit nuong roll was my least favorite even though the meat was well flavored. The egg roll was okay. could use a little more flavorful meat. 2. Pho Dac Biet (specialty pho) The broth( before all the seasonings) was well-flavored and not too bland. It could have been a tad bit more dank and beef-y, but no complaints here! The only problem I had with the pho is that they give you wayyyy too many noodles. I got a small and could barely finish half. I guess that's a lot better than no noodles. So once again, no complaints. 3. Vietnamese coffee comes out in the press - dripping and blazing hot. I have a love for meatball Pho! I haven't stop thinking about it since I had it two weeks ago. I'm a meatball pho lover! The broth is seasoned with so many different flavors that compliment each other. I love that they didn't rely on the broth and still seasoned the meatballs. I appreciate that! The lady taking my order was confused if I really wanted that since I didn't even look at the menu after asking me if it's my first time. She then asked, "With everything, right?" Amazing Vietnamese restaurant tucked in a strip mall. We split a pork bahn mi for an appetizer. It was good, all the normal fixings, the pork was not as flavorful on its own as others I've had. I enjoyed the round eye pho. The broth is more flavorful and aromatic than most pho I've tried. Still added some lime, jalapeño and basil, but almost didn't have to because the broth is so good! If you have seen my reviews you know that I like Vietnamese food so when we were in a totally different part of town at dinner time and I saw that there was a Pho restaurant nearby with great reviews, we knew right where we were going. The staff was very nice and it was obvious that they had just cleaned and mopped the restaurant before the dinner crowd arrived. We had the shrimp spring roll and the vermicelli bowl with grilled pork. The flavors for all the food were on track, with the fish sauce have a slight sweetness to it that made it a little unique from other place I visit on a regular basis. The pork was a little fattier than we care for and while I usually will eat around my wife really hates getting fatty pork. If you are not a fan of pork fat marbled in with the grilled pork, try the beef option and see if it is learner.
