FORCED GRATUITY AND BAD SERVICE My family and I have been coming to this place since they've opened (over 10 years), but this will be the last time. We were a party of 5, 2 of which were under 5yo. When we sat down a guy came over and brought 1 kids water (no lid) and two regular waters. He came back to the table he only asked what I wanted to drink then walked away. After he gave me my drink he then gets the rest of my family's drink order. He takes our food order which takes 20 min to come out. 2 kids fried rice, pho and shaking beef. The fried rice and pho come out but the beef takes 10 min longer. One of many things that the server didn't bring us was SILVERWARE! I reminded him and he apologized. It's understandable but shouldn't get overlooked. We never got asked how our food was and when we were done eating, our empty plates sat on the table. I go to the front and check out and they added gratuity on my bill. Their menu says gratuity will be charged ON PARTIES OF 6 OR MORE. We had 2 adults and 3 kids. When I brought this up they said that the menus are old and the new rule is 5 or more. Even if my kids counted as full entrees, we only ordered 4 entrees and we had 5 people. Very misleading people and outright liars. If your menu says one thing and you change it to make an extra buck that is BAD BUSINESS. We used to come here all the time, sometimes multiple times a month and now the only time they will see us again is when I go to get my money back. read more

This restaurant was a welcome treat to my gastronomic palette. Yes the food was that good. What was also good is the generous portions served. Servers were polite and who didn't speak English that fluently compensated handsomely with broad smiles and an overwhelming sincerely to understand what was being said, or requested. To be honest it wasn't hard to find, but upon arriving in the parking lot the entrance to the building itself was a little obscure. No big deal however because the interior made up for it. Food is always amazing, the service was fast and friendly and the since they have redone the interior, the place looks clean and inviting. We recommend either eating in or order takeout that you pick up. Uber eats and Door Dash adds extremely high mark up on menu items plus tipping the driver. Our Tampa lunch spot when in town, 3-4 times per year. Vegetable soup (mine) listed under Pho is more like veggie broth than Pho. It lacks the solid spice profile of more traditional Pho. Adding accompaniments of Asian basil, jalapeños, bean sprouts and lime (plus a generous dose of Sriracha) and it's pretty delicious for a post Neurologist check up. Portions are generous and that's why the moist and creamy tofu was my road snack on the way home to South Florida. My husband was super pleased with his beef based Pho with shrimp, calamari and fish balls. 3 stars for food for me, 4 for him and 4 for service. I'm sure we will be back, although in April next visit to Tampa, there's an Ethiopian restaurant on my list with gluten free Injera. read more

Pho Viet does not disappoint! A coworker took me there for my first pho experience and boy was it a good one! We only had an hour lunch break before we had to go back to the office and we informed the staff that. They were attentive to us, our needs, and quickly took our order when we were ready. They were extremely friend and kind. When my water emptied, they were there to refill it. When I requested additional hot sauces, boom! on the table. To say their service was superb is totally an understatement. In addition to amazing service, their food is absolutely delicious. You know when you go somewhere and you KNOW that the food you're consuming is fresh - this is that place! I actually just went in there yesterday to get a gift certificate for said co-worker. They were attentive to me even then! They just remodeled and got a new computer system, too, which helps to expedite their service even more. Highly recommend this place! read more

So my review is solely based on the food because I ordered delivery (So I've never been to the actual location). I ordered Pho soup twice. It was ribeye and brisket and both times it was DELICIOUS! The portion size for the large was great. (Good enough for two big eaters) and the price was comparable to other places in the area. We get there at 12:15, they didn't come to the table until 12:40 to get water and take our order. They didn't have anything I wanted to order. No cha gio. No hieu tieu nam vang. No bo kho mi. No bun bo Hue. No chicken wing app. Food didn't come out until 13:15. And I had to remind them of a plate they forgot. No refills on water. I get you are short handed, but keep the customer updated. I ordered Togo and requested the employee to repeat the order back to me. We went over this order 3 times. Didn't receive my requested crab ragoons, extra cilantro nor limes. Not to mention the HAIR in the sliced raw meat ! Upon returning, I asked to speak with the shift manager or boss to issue a refund. Employees refused to refund my order as they had "no way to refund" as their boss, "Tony",is in Vietnam. No boss, no refund. I was forced to allow a remake. The missing ragoons from my order, were offered as an inconvenience. 5mins later, was told they can no longer honor that offer. 15mins later- Another lady came out, (employee told me it was the boss's wife) told me my options were a REFUND or REMAKE. I received my refund per boss's wife's orders. Employees are polite, apologetic, but misinformed on the refund policy. 2/5 stars. read more

This place is ok. Not the best. The staff are nice. I notice they have a decorative waterfall at the entrance. Seems like it haven't been used in....months? Or years? I also notice a smell while I was there. Could be coming from it or somewhere? Anyways, they need to take care of it. Because it looks disgusting. Well, I like 2 out of 4 things i bought. A2 summer roll--it's ok A5 pork sausage roll--the pork sausage was sooo dry like it was over cooked. The meat is suppose to be moist but it is chewy like jerky. Plus, it look like it was old. C4 grilled pork chop, shredded pork skin and meatloaf. But they ran out of pork chop and substituted with grilled shredded pork. Which I do not mind. But, the pork they over cooked it, Very chewy and dry. The rice, pork skin and veggies are fine. Sticky rice with tapioca and coconut milk-- I like this dessert. Dear Pho Viet, or AKA Beef Pho Baby. Thank you for keeping your dining room open, you were our last hope! So many pho restaurants are still take-outs only and as a true pho-eater, I have been distressed and anxious for months until I discovered this place. When I saw that they had the dining in option, I still doubted it (sorry Yelp! COVID-19 made me distrust information on the web, even the Yelp a bit) so we had to call to make sure they were truly open. Our family of four made our way down from New Tampa to Brandon just to enjoy noodles. Yes, send NOODs like my daughter's t-shirt with noodle bowl picture says! Instead, we went to get NOODs. The restaurant was very busy with the Sunday lunch crowd. They only had two servers (one of them may have been a manager, even) but they handled us all like pho serving champs they were. The pho bowls were ordered and delivered back to our tables within 10 minutes, which is one of the many things I love about ordering pho. Super fast! The broths just hit the right spots in all of us. I ordered seafood pho and the rest of the fam ordered their beef brisket pho noodles, including our youngest one. She was given a choice of Kids pho noodles for $4.99 which lovingly was annotated as "Beef Pho Baby." I think I may have to change my Instagram handle to that. Thank you! They helped me pour my leftovers into my to go container without it spilling as they knew it'd be difficult. Theres a neat selection of pho. I got P.1 and it was delicious. We love this place. The Pho is delicious and they were so kind the entire meal. There wasn't an appetizer we didn't like (we had edamame, crab Rangoon, dumplings). I ordered the pho tai which is pho with just the beef in it. My boyfriend got the pho ga which is chicken pho and he said it had a good amount of chicken. Pho Viet Vietnamese Restaurant is located in Brandon just 3 blocks east of i75, 2 blocks east of the Brandon Mall, and is right across from O'Tooles Irish Pub in an old Pizza Hut building with the signature red hat style roof. The decor inside Pho Viet Restaurant is definitely a little outdated with a funky mix of over 5 different colors. The tables are cherry wood with teal seat backs, the floor is a very old school small pattern of medium brown, the walls are aqua, the door is red, and the the To-Go counter is an odd shade of purple that doesn't match anything else. There's bamboo half see through separators between one section of the restaurant and the other with funky led color changing back-lights. While the decor choices are a bit questionable, service is pretty quick and the food is pretty good with large portion sizes! We came with coworkers on a Friday during lunch time and the restaurant was approximately half at capacity for business. We were immediately seated without wait and our food came out in under 10 minutes. I ordered the D6 Stir Fry Steak Lemongrass Chili with Bell Pepper, Onions, Ginger, and Cilantro (Xao Xa Ot) served spicy. The serving size was very large with a large plate and the rice served on the side! I could only eat half in one sitting and had plenty of leftovers for a second meal! The spices were unlike any I've ever had and we're pretty good! 2 of my coworkers got the same dish and we were all raving about it! (10/10) My other coworker got the chicken fried rice combo platter with peas carrots bean sports and eggs (Com Chien Hai San) and was pretty pleased with his meal. He put some hot Chilli pepper, housing, and soy sauce on there to give it a little more flavor. (7/10) The rest of my coworkers got large bowls of Pho Viet Northern Combination served with Rare Steak, Well-done Brisket, Well-done Flank, Tendon, Tripe and Beef Meal Ball, also served with onions, scallion, cilantro and your choice of meat below. Thai basil, bean sprouts, slice jalapeno and a wedge of lime are served on a side to be added by patrons at their own pleasure. The portion size of the soup was very large and everyone was pretty happy with their soups. I have been looking for a new pho place and I saw that a Yelp friend of mine Karen V had been here, so I decided to check it out. It wasn't really busy and it's self-seating when you get inside. There is a pretty big dining area. I mainly judge a pho place on their broth. All of the add-ins are usually the same (bean sprouts, jalapenos, lime, the noodles, sriracha, hoisin sauce, etc) so it's really up to the broth to bring the whole dish together. I got a tofu noodle soup which I think they had under the South Vietnamese portion of the menu. It came out very quickly and very very hot. I like it very very hot by the way. I've been to places where the pho is lukewarm and soup is supposed to be hot. I added the portions of hoisin and sriracha that I like in my soup and went in for a taste. Sadly, the broth was just okay in my books. It wasn't bland but not the best. I've been to other pho places that add a bit of seasoning to the broth and tend to cook the broth for longer to intensify the flavor. I like the broth to punch me in the face with flavor and this broth didn't do that. It was still pleasant though and edible. It's just not my favorite. I may just try something else when I go here. I will try a few other places around town and see if I can find a place that is reliable and has amazing pho and I'll keep coming to Pho Viet along my journey to find the best pho in/around Brandon. read more

My daughter was craving some Thai tea and saw it on their website. It is located in an old Pizza Hut building but the inside is redecorated. There's no music but the lovely water sounds from the fountain make up for that. My son had the coconut boba, which was so refreshing! They both ordered Pho bowls which were very large and flavorful. I've been wanting to try this place but never got around to doing it. My first impression (atmosphere and cleanliness) wasn't the greatest. I know you should never judge a book by it's cover, but it's just difficult to overlook sometimes. There was this running waterfall feature that has seen better days. It's not attractive and it's the first thing you see when you walk into the restaurant. That's another thing. No one really sees you come into the restaurant because the takeout counter is on the other side of this water feature. I think they should just get rid of it. Anyway, I looked at the menu and noticed that the pho is separated into Southern and Northern style. Apparently there is a difference. I ended up getting the Southern Style pork and shrimp pho. I also got the wonton wrapped shrimp as an appetizer. It was all prepared in a good amount of time. I didn't have to wait too long. I was actually quite impressed with the takeout plastic bowls for the pho. The disposable bowls were very large and I didn't even need to move the contents over to another bowl. All I had to do was pour the chicken bone broth into the bowl. It had bean sprouts, lime, sliced jalapeno peppers, Thai basil, green onions, cilantro, lots of thin slices of pork, and about 4 shrimp. This was much meatier than any other pho I've had in the past. The broth was very mild and still very hot when I poured it into the bowl. My mother mentioned that one bowl was enough for 2 people. She was right. It was very good, but I'll have to try the Northern style pho one day just to compare the two. We also liked the wonton wrapped shrimp. I will go back to try other items. read more

Very slow dining room service, but good food and prices are less expensive compared to other vietnamese places in the brandon area. 2nd time going for lunch and service is kinda slow because there's only 1 waiter for the dining room. The pho dishes are well made, tasty broth, plenty of meat. I really like the egg rolls A3, it's fresh and crunchy. The pork sausage rolls (A5) is also very good, this is basically a summer roll but with a large piece of great tasting grill pork sausage. This is my preferred vietnamese restaurant in the brandon/riverview area. The food is high quality. Compared to other vietnamese restaurants in this area, price here is $1-$2 cheaper for the appetizers, and $3-$4 cheaper for the pho dishes. Only trade-off is you have to wait a bit longer for service if you're dining in. read more

My friend recently transferred to the area and she wanted to grab lunch. She searched online and saw this place had decent reviews and was not too far. The outside does not look great at all. I even questioned if it was open. It does not look like they take care of the building or parking lot. I'll be honest we contemplated leaving before even going in.
