Cute diner! Spent our Friday morning having a simple and yet elegant little breakfast nook, a stones throw outside the Domain. this place has ample parking and sets on the corner enough to allow outside seating areas. It's still hot out here in Austin, so we asked to be seated inside. The nice thing is that we could bring our pup with us since we had a stroller. Very excited to be here and be accepted as a dog owner. The guy at the reception was very cool and was happy that we could bring our dog with us. We don't get that very often so it was nice. Really good help with the staff. Food was delicious and was bigger than expected. Generous portions served. I recommend coming here in the middle of the week as The patronage was low. Outstanding diner with a Texas twist. Might even be a 5 star once I get a second dish. You can expect fresh ingredients, creatively pairs flavors and amazing staff. I tried the chorizo hash. First off, it's a beautiful dish. A base of chorizo, spinach, onions, sweet potato cubes, topped with an over easy egg. The masa cakes were perfectly prepared. I could eat a dozen of those. Vibe and service are great. Nitro cold brew is creamy and wonderful. Those pancakes are REALLY fluffy and good. My husband's chile relleno was FANTASTIC. In fact, I was jealous the entire meal, because my '04 platter was so disappointing... the sausage and eggs were fine, but man... this is Texas... get your brisket act together??? It wasn't stringy and dry with very little flavor. That said, it wasn't my first time to Phoebe's, and I absolutely smashed my chicken sandwich last time, so I'm not letting it affect my rating. I came to Phoebe's for my first time on a Sunday Afternoon for brunch, around 12 PM with 5 of my friends. It was definitely busy at that time, but we were sat fairly quickly. Service: Our server was wonderful--she was very attentive to us and made suggestions when we asked for her opinion. She checked on us often throughout the meal and brought all of our items with good timing. She was very friendly despite the obvious chaos of the afternoon rush. Ambiance: I'm still leaving a 5-star review, but come knowing this place can feel very loud--not sure if it's because of the wall material or what, I felt like I was yelling in my conversation with my friends. Loved the old-school diner feel. Food: the biggest reason for the 5-star rating. We ordered to orders of the corn bread--each order came with three corn bread muffins. They came out warm, soft and flavorful. We loved them!!! The whipped and apple butter were my favorites of the 3 spreads, the green-chile jam might not be everyone's favorite! For my meal I went the breakfast direction and ordered the smoked brisket burrito--brisket, scrambled eggs, cheddar and hash brown casserole all in a flour tortilla--it was delicious and hearty. It definitely filled me up. The brisket was so soft and tender and the hash brown casserole was flavorful and yummy as well. I'd recommend it!! I had some bites of my wife's bananas foster's French toast as well, and it'll honestly change your life. I'll be ordering it the next time I go. Keep in mind they have a nice long list of items you can order a la carte in case you wanted to try something in addition to your plate. They had an enticing menu, I really enjoyed the banana french toast and my friends also enjoyed their food. Finally made it to this newest location! Glad we joined the waitlist on Yelp ahead of time...it was Sunday around noon and took about 30 min on the list to get in. Super busy, but also moving quickly! We were seated outside...not ideal since the tables are just a few feet from the parking spaces, but at least it wasn't deadly hot today. The tables were nicely sized, and the proximity to the lot didn't bother us once we were seated. Staff were friendly and quick. Food was good as always. This was my first time trying the Diner Double Burger and it was yummy. Not top of my list for Austin, but not at all disappointing. A great choice for those who like a more upstyle Big Mac-y burger. The real winner was the horchata...so glad I ordered one today. It was nothing like the horchatas back home in California but that same classic taste was still there with a delicious caramely sweet twist. I want to come back just for horchatas! They do catering ! Wait time for the meals was around 10-15 minutes and well worth it. Cornbread for Breakfast Benny was pretty sweet in the best way going perfectly with the pulled pork. The Mrs. Crunch is just the Mr.Crunch with an egg and very flavorful. The brisket is tender, the bread is toasted (maybe a little too heavy toasted as it was hard to bite through for toast) still pretty good. The food was absolutely amazing! For Austin Restaurants Week they have a special 3-course meal and there wasn't a bad bite. The ranch and red hot sauce paired really well with the tomatoes. The omelette was pretty good. The tomato gravy that the omelette came with was delicious. My main complaint is that the omelette was too salty. I picked some of the cheese out to remove some of the saltiness. The blueberry pancakes were pretty solid. They were nice and fluffy.
