This longstanding restaurant has quickly become my favorite spot to get happy hour or dinner since I moved into the area. Soo many great options on their menu. And some great deals on some very generously portioned happy hour dishes. Always A+ service at the bar or a table. So far I've had the green chili pork, eggplant, short ribs, and the pork chop and all of them were cooked to perfection and delicious. We really enjoyed a meal out with another couple on a Thursday evening. The place was packed, and given COVID and worker shortage, this was all taken into consideration. I had a burger with a gluten free bun which was cooked exactly as requested. The gin cocktail was a little underwhelming, but none the less good. I love this place. I go with a friend every other Friday and have the Salmon skewer. It comes on a bed of arugula and diced apples. It is so perfect. This restaurant was a Yelp suggestion, so my wife and I decided to try it after my graduation. It was in a shopping center area, so it wasn't too hard to find. As we walked in, we were greeted by a nice lady waitress. Inside was nice, but we expressed we wanted to be seated outside, so we were. It wasn't long until the waitress came and asked what we were drinking. We ordered drinks but decided to look at the menu for an appetizer and main entrees. We ordered our appetizer and entrees. Just as it should, the appetizer came out first. It was delightful. Again, on time, our entrees came out hot and appealing to the eyes. We thoroughly enjoyed both and decided on dessert, which is rare. We ended up taking our food back to the hotel. The beef was a bit under seasoned, which is why I gave 4 stars. Weeknight date night....great neighborhood location! We had a reservation and were sat immediately. From the hostess to the server, it was friendly service. The Mojito (not pictured) was delusions and refreshing. Although they were pretty busy for a Wednesday night, our food came out pretty quickly and was pretty good! The quality of the food here is quite fantastic. You can tell that the chef uses fresh ingredients and takes care in developing the menu that they have. The ambience is that of elegant, even though you may come in a casual dress format. It is the kind of place to just sit and enjoy with your friends. Bring that special someone here that you really care about and share in a great bottle of wine and fantastic meal. The décor inside is definitely on the higher scale, and it is a very comfortable setting. The wine list has quite a few offerings that are on the scale from medium to really good. To start off, I'm really disappointed because the reviews of this place was fairly high. I'm not a super hard critique but after my experience, I'm not at all satisfied. The "small plates" are very pricey for what you get. I included the pictures attached. For nearly $30 you get 2 small plates. We also got the PCG pasta and it was alright. Very basic ingredients. Next time we know to just go to a pasta specialized place. Our waitress/server barely checked on us in 10 minutes intervals. We came when it was very slow. 3pm on a Thursday evening. We ordered at 3:00 and food didn't come out till around 20-30 minutes later. She never came back to update us. Note again, it was not busy. When we got our food she didn't ask if we needed anything, she just dropped the plate and ran off to another table. I just didn't like the vibe at all. The food itself was not bad at a. Just not for the price you pay. Service was not that attentive and great coming from someone who is a server herself. Overall will not be returning. read more

Bacon wrapped shrimp was stuffed with Cotija cheese and served with a chipotle aioli and mixed green salad. Four large shrimp on plate. We had a couple of orders of eggplant bites and both apps were very good. Two people in our party had salads, two had sandwiches and I had the Fall Winter Roasted Vegetable Plate. I did not hear any complaints. I am not a vegetarian. I did not have high expectations about butternut squash with cauliflower and carrots with apples and arugula salad but was pleasantly surprised. We saw PCG on Check Please. It was Saturday night and we made a reservation. The bar was hopping. When happy hour ended the bar was wide open. Run don't walk to PCG for an outstanding meal. We started with bacon wrapped large shrimp with a small salad garnish. Shrimp were firm and good. We dined on short ribs and Alaskan Halibut. Both entrees were tender and flavorful. All spices and seasonings were vibrant and enhanced the protein. Quality ingredients, expertly cooked and exceptional plating. I didn't give this restaurant 5 stars only because the food wasn't all that and the waiter made a couple of mistakes to my order. Food also took an unusually long amount of time to come out for a sit down restaurant. Presentation wise it looks good and the prices were fair. Really what I cared for the most was their drink menu considering they have one of the best whisky/bourbon selections in the valley. If you ever get a chance to visit, I highly recommend ordering a Old Fashioned poured with Pappy Van Winkle's 15 year bourbon. It is a high price drink but honestly worth every single penny! They were decked out in Christmas regalia and offer a happy hour specials and a nice craft cocktail menu. I elected to try two small plates the Bacon Wrapped Shrimp filled with cotija cheese and served with a Chipotle aioli and the Crispy Short Rib served over a tepary bean puree glazed with a Korean barbecue glaze pickled Fresno chilies and chimichurri which was excellent. My Sister had the Salmon skewer and her husband tried the PCG pasta which they also enjoyed. The service was a little slow but in fairness I arrived about 15 minutes early before the rest of my party arrived. Our entrees of Beef Short Rib and (fish of the day) Halibut were excellent, well prepared and seasoned. The portions are perfect. The homemade Cornbread is yummy! For a great appetizer, order the Bacon Wrapped Shrimp - served with two "jumbo" delicious shrimp wrapped in a layer of cheese and crispy bacon! The bar offers some excellent local craft beers on tap! Don't let the strip mall location throw you off, the interior of the Phoenix City Grill is quite comfortable and sitting in the bar area very nice. The service is friendly and efficient. Note to the Chef and owner....my husband recently had the special Sloppy Joe on May 9th...he can't stop raving about the taste, the presentation...so creative. Came here for a few group dinners and tried a bunch of their entrees. The Queso fundido is delicious for a starter. The salmon is pretty good as well as the Roselane chicken, well prepared and tasty.
