Zero stars. Go to apple. It's not worth losing your warranty. My screen cracked and I was quoted one price over the phone which was half of what Apple would have charged me. When I picked up my phone they charged me just $20 under what Apple would have. I lost my warranty and the new screen was not screwed on properly. I couldn't hear telephone calls and and it shattered shortly after it slipped thru my short 4 year olds hands on a soft linoleum floor. Instead of taking responsibility for the phone not being properly repaired in the first place I was told I shouldn't let my 4 year old play on my phone. Apple encourages children to play on their phones. I ended up paying twice to these guys when I could have paid Apple once, kept my warranty, and had the excellent customer service that comes with it. read more

This is the place to go if you have accidentally abused your iphone! They are extremely knowledgable, honest and QUICK! The prices are VERY reasonable too! TOTALLY WORTH IT! Try them before wasting money on a new phone. I dropped my old iphone off and they took it apart, found the problem and called me the same day to pick up. Wow! Fast service and the best prices. My grand-daughter shattered her iPhone5 screen...again! Wasn't even sure they could fix it as some of the insides were visible. They said the frame was slightly curved, but they could straighten it out - give them 30 minutes...We went out for a nice lunch and when we came back, it was perfect. Even got a discount on the tempered glass screen protector! They explained that they also covered some of the components inside with protective tape so if she ever broke it that badly again, the internal components were less likely to get damaged. I went to the Apple store in Carlsbad as my I phone battery kept losing its charge and the unit was becoming extremely hot. They tested the battery, said it was fine and the manager would not approve of trying a new battery. I went to the Verizon store and they could not help either so I found Phone Phix in sheer frustration. Sheldon was amazing and offered to look at the phone free of charge. Within literally seconds, heopened up the phone, tried a new battery and guess what? NO further problems, it was the battery after all! He didn't charge me for anything but the battery and the visit was so fast and he was so sweet that he asked me to call him and let him know how things were going with the phone. Love this place! Dropped my phone while camping in Carlsbad and walked in to get it repaired. The guy was super nice. I didn't want to repair it right then and there since the phone was still functional (the screen cracked but was completely functional) so he gave me a free screen cover to help keep me from getting splinters from the broken glass. I offered to pay for the screen cover but he said no. I even pulled out a couple of dollars for his time but he wouldnt take it. Great customer Service. Highly recommend. read more

Sheldon rocks. confirmed over the phone he had parts in hand to fix the phone within expected time of few hours. He gave us clear directions and put his last remaining inventory part on hold for me with nothing more than my last name. Shortly thereafter, i gave Sheldon my phone, he asked for 30 minutes and then recommended us to the greatest little Danish bakery next door. 30minutes, a great cup of coffee and some of the most amazing baked cakes and cookies later and my i-phone 5 was good as new. I completely shattered the whole front screen of my iphone 5.. The night before I left for vacation! I could barley even read a text, and it started overheating. I wanted to get it replaced so I researched a bunch of places and I decided to give this one a shot. I called in before and he said it would be $100 to replace which is cheaper than most places. HORRIBLE customer service! The owner/mgr was the rudest person I've ever come across. I got my phone fixed 3 days ago by him and he sold me some extra bs screen cover that I MUST have as it helps take any impact etc etc. Well needless to say 3 days later my phone screen shattered again. Called him to see what he would do, well he did absolutely nothing. He doesn't warranty any of his products/services nothing. But he 100% stands behind the products he sells, he's personally tested them all etcetera. Been doing this for 20 yrs. Um iPhones haven't been around for 20yrs. Long story short my daughters SIPPY CUP dropped on my phone and shattered the screen and the screen protector he sold me yea didn't work. It made it worse. The whole time I'm talking to the guy the guy he's being rude blaming me for his faulty work. Then she I question if he's part of the BBB or if he's authorized through apple etc he gets even more defensive and again says he stands by his products/services. Well dude if you stand by them where's your warranty or where's your customer service to try to help make the situation better. You ever think out of however many phones you fix every now and again you may do one wrong or the product could be faulty??? Ooohhh I forgot he's been doing this for 20 yrs and he's never had a situation like this cause he's tested all his products personally. Well after the circles of talking he started to get more irradiated that I'm questions his abilities and not letting this go he starts to use profanities with my toddler there. I asked him to stop he continued so a patron standing in line behind me called the police and his attitude was getting more aggressive. You don't do that with a toddler around and you sure the hell don't raise your voice to a woman then make her child cry cause your yelling at her. Needless to say the cops agreed with me took the report and told him they could arrest him it's up to me if I'd like to press charges. Some owner/mgr. I have the whole incident recorded as he was yelling at me. I'm out the $130 I JUST PAID TO FIX my phone plus the cost of going somewhere else to have them fix it from his original crap job!!! I dropped my Droid DNA and the screen totally shattered. I called Phone Phix on a Friday and they said they could get the part in by Wednesday. They were indeed quick with it and had the part ready by Tuesday (which is why I'm giving them 2 stars instead of 1). I brought my phone in to get the screen replaced and they said it would be an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes. I came back after an hour, but the repair ended up lasting almost two hours. While I was waiting I was subjected to a fairly unprofessional environment. Including the owner bad mouthing a former customer for claiming to have broken their screen simply by pressing on it (a claim that seems more plausible now). When I got home with the phone I realized that the screen was a little loose. If I pressed on it I could feel the screen moving. Since they had promised to warranty the fix for 90 days I planned to take it back to have them look at it, but was busy for the rest of the week. On Sunday I took the phone out of my pocket to discover that the screen had cracked. It had been maybe 30 minutes since I had last looked at the phone, and I had just been hanging around the house. I've never had a screen crack on me (other than when I dropped the phone on concrete and it shattered). It seems to me the screen being loose (or perhaps cheap quality) was the reason it did this time. I called Phone Phix, but they said they could not warranty broken screens. When I brought up the loose screen they told be that they can't get a good fit on Droid DNA's (something they never mentioned before). The best they could offer was free labor on another fix. I'm not about to drop another $150 on the screen after just spending $200 last week. They may be great with iPhones, but definitely don't take a Droid DNA to them. read more

I went to phone fix to have my broken screen on my I phone 5 replaced. Not only was the service great but the time it took was faster than any other place I had been to in my past experiences of phone repair shops. Sheldon the owner took the time to teach me a lot about my phone on issues that did not pertain to my screen and he even threw in a free I phone case when he saw how beat up mine was. He's very kind, honest and he gave me a price break when I came back to get my husbands I pad fixed as well. I let him know I had a couple old I phones, one a 4 and my husbands 4S and he bought them from me at a good price. I like that he takes his time even out of his very busy day to answer any of my questions and I value his honesty and knowledge that he brings to the consumer. I enjoy supporting small business owners in the Carlsbad village and have made this place our favorite to go to with any phone repair or tablet issues from here on out. I recommend him if you are looking for fast, reliable and honest work on any of your phones, tablets and he even does computer repair as well. The environment is pleasing as well, my kids and I were able to wait at the shop while my phone was being fixed with a nice lounging area with TV to occupy my children and the cutest dog in the world (his dog) named Peanut my children now adore and ask to go back constantly just to see his dog again!
