After driving through the nasty construction that surrounds the grapevine area, we finally arrived at Pho Express. I had recently purchased a groupon so i decided to give it a go...and glad we did! With 30 min till closing, they served us fresh vietnamese food with a smile =) we ordered Goi Cuon (Vietnamese spring rolls) which were very good. For the entree we both got a Vermicelli bowl, mine with grilled shrimp and sugarcane shrimp...he got the grilled pork and grilled shrimp. I still had a couple bucks left from my $30 groupon so I decided to get a durian shake. ALL was fantastic, healthy dinner. Fresh ingredients. My guy noticed that the noodles were so fresh that they were steaming. Clean establishment. nice art of vietnam on the walls. I love the concept of the open kitchen. My only wish was that my vermicelli bowl had mint in it...but its all good. We'll def come back and try the pho next time as well as the banh mi sandwiches. read more

Pleasantly surprised by this little chain location. Not the best Pho I have ever had in my life but does have a real mass appeal and quality of ingredients. I have gone here for lunch from work a few times and we have been happy every time. This place was fantastic! Or at least the dish I had was. Ordered the chicken and veggie pho, was out in probably 5 minutes along with bean sprouts, delicious thai basil, some jalapeño, and a lime wedge. Broth was full of flavor. Really hit the spot. The difference in size between the small and large bowl is barely noticeable, which explains why there's not much of a price difference. The small was definitely a decent amount, maybe slightly larger than your typical restaurant soup bowl. read more

Stopped in cause it was close to the mall and I was hungry. The restaurant name definitely matches their service- EXPRESS. I ordered, got my drink, sat down, checked in on Yelp and poof..my meal magically appeared. Broth and noodles in my pho was pretty good but quality of meat in my pho is subpar! Flank steak pieces were mostly fat?? Hmm....I don't want to question what the meatballs were made of. Definitely not the type of meatballs my Vietnamese momma usually puts in! Tasted good but a little pricey and skimpy on the proteins. And the "Fresh caught calamari" in their menu make me feel like they're not honest. This is Grapevine, Texas. There's no fresh caught calamari here. I wanted the pho with beef stew but they were out. Got the rice with pork chop and sugarcane shrimp. Tasty. And the fish sauce was very good. The pork chop was gone in 2 bites. That's how small it was. The eggrolls are very good but expensive. There's better Vietnamese food in Carrollton and they're cheaper too plus more meat. The cashier was annoying because he couldn't put the order in right. What was supposed to be a simple order took way too long. I went here yesterday because of a Groupon. When I first walked in, no one greeted us, so we just sat ourselves. After about 2 minutes of sitting and no one greeting us, we realized it was because you have to go up through the line and select the items you want and then order at the counter. It's different. Everything on the menu is really pricey for Vietnamese food. I was going to order the shaken beef, but it said, "add an extra $5 (to the rice plate.)" Really? $14 for shaken beef? I usually get it for ~$9 elsewhere. It's just not worth it. I ended up getting grilled pork with rice and an egg, and even that cost over $10. Since the Groupon was for $30, I also ordered a banh mi thit. I asked the guy taking my order if the rice was "com tam" (broken rice), and he had no idea what I was talking about, so I had to repeat it in English and he said, "No, we don't have that." A vietnamese restaurant without broken rice. Well, okay. They bring out the banh mi thit first for our appetizer. The flavor is pretty good. They use lemon grass to marinade the meat. However, there was so little meat! And for $4.50! Outrageous. For that price, I expect it to be oozing with meat. So my boyfriend gets his food first, and he was ALMOST done eating when they bring out mine.. and they forgot the egg. So by the time my complete meal was out, I was eating by myself. The grilled pork had a good flavor to it, but again, not enough meat. They gave me an XL scoop out rice and skimped out on the meat. So would I come here again? Not at that price. I'll probably come back when they offer the deal on Groupon again, only then would it be priced right. read more

A very pleasant surprise in a small strip mall. I had the Seafood Pho: The broth was incredibly flavorful and a bit spicy. The seafood was adequately tasty and plentiful. The portion was large for a low price. To say service was quick would be an understatement - the pho came to my table immediately after sitting down. Don't expect fine dining. People were screaming in the backroom and it definitely has the feel of a mom and pop operation, although the dining area is fairly large and the tables were clean during my visit. Stay away from the spring rolls, as they are not very good, but it's all about the pho, and they do it well. read more

If you don't want to be harassed by the sample slinging food court employees at the grapevine mills mall, PhoXpress seems like an alternate for a quick and inexpensive meal. I got a grilled pork banh mi and this place grills it like a panini. If I return, I'd request that it is not grilled. Warm mayo on a sandwich is not an appealing condiment. I think the extra heat from the grill made the contents have a slightly strange scent. (definitely the mayo!) It was an overall decent sandwich, but a bit pricey at 5 dollars when you can find these at pho places for under 4. I also got traditional spring rolls that were good, decent peanut sauce and my own generous additional squirts of sriracha. Notably, there were tons of full sriracha (rooster brand) bottles along a counter near the start of the open kitchen area but the bottles on the table were generic condiment bottles with a sriracha label. I just thought it was odd to go through the extra effort to move them to nondescript bottles. When imagining that someone likely had to fill those bottles manually, my apprehension for mistakes and uncleanliness kicks in. My friend got the pho and thought the broth was a bit sweet. Not surprising for the taste buds in this area. Definitely not a destination dining, but for in the area, makes a decent option when you are desperate for Viet. read more

After a long day of shopping, this was an excellent choice for dinner. You walk in and order at the counter. They have various stations to order your soup, noodle, or sandwich meal. The staff work hard and are constantly on the go. The tables are clean in a large dining area. Best Pho around! Better quality at the newer location in Lewisville than the Grapevine local. The chicken wings and spicy beef stew are the real stars. They frequently run coupons in the local mailers for $5 off. We have tried ALL the pho places around here since moving from Austin and this one is absolutely the best. Don't bother with the Thai Tea, it is from powder concentrate. Vietnamese coffee also comes premixed, not grounds on a dripper, like I am used to. read more

I found this place after searching for nearby restaurants near my hotel. After a flight, pho sounded really good. I was a little skeptical with the "Express" part. To my surprise, the seafood pho I had was very delicious and hit the spot. The broth was flavorful much like pho broth in California. I had the large bowl size and was able to devour the whole thing. I try not to leave bad reviews but in this case I feel compelled. First the experience started off on the wrong foot when the cashier did not even acknowledge I had stepped up to the counter. The first work he spoke to me was the total for my order. Then I recieved my order. I ordered the spicy beef. The flavor was fine and it was spicy but the quality of the beef was so poor that I could not eat it. The fat had become so hard that it was basically rubber. This is not an exaggeration. Imagine trying to eat your cell phone case. I searched the bowl for a piece of beef that I could eat safely but was unsuccessful. If you read my other reviews you will see that I have never left a one star before. It stinks that I have to break that streak. read more

The staff was very friendly and helpful, major points for that. Also the restaurant was very clean, well lit and had an interesting and energetic decor theme. We tried a bahn mi- good bread and the beef was flavorful. The pho, however was very salty. To me pho should be healthy and refreshing, but this felt more like the stock was made out of bouillion. Maybe I just caught them on a bad night. The main reason I am giving them 3 stars instead of 4 is that it took me about 20 minutes to get a small to go order. However it was a Friday night and there was only one other person in the restaurant, and he already had his food. With "xpress" being in the name you generally expect it to be a little quicker than that. I normally wouldn't have a problem with this, however with the soup tasting instant, it should be a little quicker. read more

I thought I would give this place a try, since it was near DFW airport and I happened to be in the area. I'm always game to try out new Pho restaurants, as there seems to be a bit of a dearth of them nearby where I live. The food was decent enough, but nothing really to write home about. The chicken Pho tasted what I expected it to taste like, more or less, though the regular sized bowl here seemed smaller than at other nearby places. The spring rolls seemed fresh and passable as well. What really kind of sticks in my craw is the fact that this place was more expensive than most other Vietnamese restaurants I've been to in the metroplex. I can usually get out the door for about ten bucks for a bowl, some rolls, and an iced Vietnamese coffee. Here, I dropped fifteen for a bowl, some rolls, and a coke. I didn't see coffee on the menu. The restaurant itself looked like it used to be something else, and minimal effort was put in to making it look like anything more than a knock off Panda Express with sparse furniture. We are from Houston area and love pho! We were driving by and saw this place. Nice vibe on the inside. Service was nice and soon as we ordered we were given a number. Thought that meant we would have to wait a while but when they say the place is called phoXpress.. They are not joking. A minute went by not even and we had or spring rolls(A1 & A2) which were very good. The peanut butter sauce was a little to strong for my taste but still good. Our main meals, mine beef and broccoli (c10) was oh my gosh DELICIOUS!! My husband has the large pho bowl (P1 deluxe) he finished the whole thing. 1st time here. S2, P27 & Combo Fried Rice did not disappoint. The place has large seating, FAST service & clean bathrooms. Some complain of the price & size of pho bowls. Husband & I both got a large and I left full. The bowl may be smaller, but they are deep. The meat portions are large.
