The waitress disappeared for long stretches and I thought we were stuck there all night They did buy me a beer and did not charge us for dinner which was good because we barely ate anything anyway. This restaurant has a beautiful location with delicious food and quality service. Every meal and experience has been a good one until recently. On Friday night, it was 91° on the patio at 7:00 p.m. The misting system was on and everything was fabulous--until one diner decided they did not want the misting system on. The restaurant complied and the missing system was turned off. The rest of us on a full patio were left to deal with the heat. I went inside to complain and to cool down and was told I was welcome to sit inside. In reality, the diner who did not want to sit amongst the misting system should've been sent inside rather than the rest of us left on the patio to overheat. I can see how the staff was trying to be polite to all of us but the rest of us sitting outside were not considered and the misting system was not turned on even after I voiced my opinion and discomfort at being overheated. read more

Great setting for PHX Beer! On Hayden Road, north of Ventura, it sits in a cul-de-sac surrounded by other good restaurants. It also sits lakeside on a community lake. The beer is good. The reason for a 4-star? The Happy Hour menu has some interesting menu choices, but several are deep fried and look a little like they came from the refrigerator. I did not order off the regular menu, so the dinner offerings may be better. However, the setting itself outside is worth spending some time over a cold beer. read more

I've been to PHX Beer Co several times now and I really can't express enough, how much I really appreciate their great staff and delicious food. Mitch and Derrick have been stellar behind the bar, offering their knowledge for tasty food choices and great beer. So far I've tried: Arizona Gold - a golden ale (the picture) The Monsoon- an IPA that has citrusy notes North Rim- IPA, has a more hop bodied flavor than the monsoon, but still delicious. Sunset Sour- tart and fruity, just the way it should be. And last but not least, The Death Drop! A double IPA that's as smooth as can be and potent too. While sipping on some delightful craft beers, you either have the option to sit outside with a view of the lake, you can grab a table inside and relish in the positive atmosphere, or even watch the game on the big screens, right at the bar. Plenty of parking and the entrance sign is just a piece of art itself, cleverly intertwining a phoenix and beer hop icon. Spacious and welcoming, there's really not a bad spot to sit anywhere. Unless you want to be firmly planted in front of the TVs, you cannot beat the ambience of patio seating overlooking the water and beautiful homes dotting the waterline. Let's talk about the highlight of what brings you here. If you are unsure of your beer choices, get the beer flight and pick four to try. For me, the Arizona Gold and the Iron Horse Porter are my top two FAVES. Like they advertise, Arizona has two seasons - summertime and almost summertime. The Arizona Gold transports me to soaking up sunshine and glowing with happiness. The porter is this chocolate malt but with a roasted sweet finish. I didn't mind the Bird City Lager is another contender of my top fave. The Morceni Copper Ale was actually good. I will have to taste the others. Soon. Happy hour is a great sampling of the delish food here. I love the southern fried chicken sandwich because they give me extra pickles. The fish taco is just light and crispy but generous in size. You can't have beer without their pizza or if you're trying to be healthy get the salmon BLT with the waffle season fries. I have gone to beer heaven and life is just utterly perfect. I was tempted to have dessert but I couldn't squeeze any more in after what I just rattled off as my typical order. I will be back more often than not and certainly will update you with tips of what to order. I am either (i) drinking beer, (ii) about to drink beer, or (iii) thinking about drinking beer. I've been here twice and feel qualified to review. I join others with a 5-star review. The big thing here is the ambiance; you cannot beat sitting on the patio by the water. There are lots of tables and chairs and umbrellas to protect from the sun. There are heaters, too, although I haven't been here when those were in use. The menu is just great. There are so many interesting items that I am eager to try them all. So far, I've had Korean chicken and Alaskan fish and chips. Both were tasty. The portions are pretty large (although I'm a small eater) so in both cases, I took some home. That mac and cheese looks appealing so next time . . . The service is good. You won't sit around waiting. I will definitely return here and think it is a very fine addition to the Scottsdale restaurant scene. Most people would really enjoy it. read more

We used to go to their location on 7th street and finally got around to trying this location. First of all it's a great location. The outside seating is great. Husband ordered the breakfast biscuit sandwich with potatoes and gravy. Well the gravy was just not enough for the pile of potato's and the dry biscuit. So, we asked for a side of gravy. A thimble showed up and not even filled. See picture. It wasn't even filled halfway. Less than a tablespoon of gravy to be precise. When we got the bill there was a charge of a dollar. I had to laugh. I see now on the menu there is a charge for gravy, but the assumption would be it more than a tablespoon. Very disappointing to say the least. A side is usually side worthy and this was not! I ordered the pimento grilled cheese with bacon added. It was delicious and the extra cheese that melted over the waffle fries was amazing. This saved our meal. Beers are solid - cute location - just would hope they would revisit what constitutes a side dish. Pretty solid. We will definitely be back. The only major bummer is that we arrived 6:06pm--just shy of Meeting happy hour prices. We ordered a flight for our first visit so we could try out our typical favorites so next time we can grab a pint of the faves. I had the IPA and the Zuzu IPA and liked both. The Zuzu is definitely more smooth. I had the vegan veggie burger and while I liked the presentation and preparation, I could use a bit more flavor. I would still order it again though! The seasoned waffle fries were 100. For real. Like, cowboy caviar was tempting, but those fries are straight up perfection. Kid meals were $6 and they had four decent options, but my daughter lamented no hamburger. I'll be trying the pan pizza next time with the fondue for sure. Ok, I get it's Phoenix BEER company (not phoenix dinner company) but why are we closing at 9:30 on Saturday and closing the kitchen at 8:30? Came here with my wife in and her girlfriend for lunch. The atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant, and the patio area is very nice spot for lunch. The food was above average, but the service was VERY SLOW AND INATTENTIVE. Furthermore, when we actually could the servers attention, it definitely felt that we were an inconvenience. I had a great time at PHX Beer Co! The location is amazing and they have a beautiful bar with quirky beer themed decor. I was surprised to find that they had just as many craft cocktails as beer. The beer I tried was very good. The White Chocolate Sonoran ale really is not shy on the chocolate. I felt like I was drinking a candy bar. The food was decent as well. Fish and Chips 8/10, pretzel bites 6/10, Mac and cheese 10/10! I wasn't a fan of the waffle fries or the seasonings they put on the pretzels but overall it was delicious and I definitely would eat here again. Let it be known that I'm a New England beer snob, so take this with a grain of salt - but I wasn't a fan of the PHX brewed beers. They have some guest taps though, try those. I will say the service is great and all of the staff are extremely friendly. We went on our last night in Scottsdale and did an obnoxious order of a chopped salad with chicken strips, not grilled chicken. It came exactly how I wanted. No one gave me a hard time and it was pretty good. Another bright spot is the outdoor patio area and the happy hour menu. We were treated like we didn't matter. After a while of noticing us just sitting there the gentlemen at the bar came to ask us if we would like any drinks. Throughout the whole experience we continued to wait while others got served. "Breanna" the server was who attended us was less then welcoming. Was told "that's not my job." Went to get the high chairs myself. Big pile in the corner, stuck together. As I was struggling to get them apart (with one leg), stafff was sitting behind.
