The best thing that I've been introduced to in 2020 is the Detroit style pizza. Easily snuck into my top pizza preferences during quarantine. Crust - cheese - toppings - sauce. These are the order of operations to create the Detroit style pie. Thick and crispy edged crust is A1 at Pi-Squared. Freshly grated mozzarella cheese. Spicy pepperoni pieces with a very flavorful and savory Italian seasoning. The best bite is on the outer edges when the pepperoni gets crispy/crunchy from the carmelized rims of the crust - yum. All topped off and finished with the pizza sauce which is the final touch. Placing the sauce on last is what allows for a fluffier crust as the cheese slowly melts down the sides. This square shaped pizza is light and airy inside and contains just the right amount of thickness making a brilliant bite each time. Definitely more a puffy crust guy rather than thin so this strikes straight down my lane. Only $9.50 for the small and $14.50 for a large, you can enjoy Pi-Squared's Detroit style pizza outside at their six feet apart outdoor seating tables along the koi fish pond on a nice summer South Carolina evening. Socially distance with some dog walkers that stroll by on the sidewalk, on-look the scenery and trees in the backdrop behind the pond, and enjoy some background music from the speakers overhead creating an all-around peaceful pizza atmosphere. read more

I've had a variety of pizzas (thin crust and square), subs, salads, and wings. The square pizza is far superior to the thin. Seems like The Detroiter is the best option--with interchangeable toppings. The subs are average at best. The salads are fine--perhaps a little better than other pizza chains. In house, the service is fine. Friendly and seemingly competent. Pick up and delivery is a different matter. I've had some rather frustrating experiences with the teens running the phone. It appears that management could spend a little more time either vetting hirees or at least training them more adequately. Not bad pizza in a pinch. And, they're actually open on Sundays. read more

I order delivery and wait 1 1/2 hours for cold pizza. It was cold I had warm it the oven! Very disappointed to say least!

We went here for dinner on a Sunday evening. We got a small square pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms. I personally did not like the pizza very much. I thought crust was ok but I didn't care of the amount or the quality of the toppings. I thought the place had tremendous potential from a location and set up. The mushrooms are canned. The sauce seems to be canned as well. Such a bummer since a small veggie pizza is $13. Mine was also notably missing the green peppers. The crust is decent, but otherwise I'm severely disappointed. For some reason I expected more from a $13 pizza. Honestly Fratello's is a much better choice if you're looking for good pizza. Loved the food! We split the margarita pizza and spinach salad and both were great. I am not sure why people say this is on the same level as Pizza Hut - much better pizza selections, better sauce, and WAY less grease. The timing was not long at 5pm, and they also brought our food over to Holliday brewing. The atmosphere is great on the pond too. Will definitely be eating here again. read more

The food was okay, but not worth the price tag. That's not the reason for the 1-star rating though. The reason for the 1-star rating is due to the employee not putting the top on the sauce cup properly. During my drive home with my food, the sauce cup tipped over and all 4 oz of pizza sauce emptied out all over the inside of my car. Now I have to pay a hundred plus dollars to go get it detailed. We aren't from Spartanburg. We drove over from Atlanta to take our son to lunch. He's a freshman at Wofford so we don't really know the area. He wanted pizza so we got on Yelp and found this place. It was awesome! The service was great. The pizza and breadsticks were delicious. We ordered a thin crust Margarita pizza and The Detroiter with salad and breadsticks. The outdoor seating was really nice. Outdoor seating is a requirement for us and there's was really wonderful with the fountain and fish. My third visit here. The pizza is pretty good, nice decor. The three stars comes in because I have been charged three different prices for the exact same pizza. The first time it was $8.99. Second time $10.58. This time I was charged $13.24. Not sure why, even tho I questioned the young lady who took my order. The wings are baked, so they aren't crispy, even tho they baked them twice. If you get the square pizza you might want to ask to cook it fairly longer, the middle has a tendency not to be too hot. Also noticing they are doing things fairly different than my first two visits. Before someone came by to ask how everything was, not today. They also offered samples of the custard ice cream, not today either. Not sure why they stopped doing those things, but I would suggest they revisit those. Actually was more appealing. read more

This place is a great addition to Drayton Mills development. My husband is a meat lover and he is happy digging in to the Detroit pizza. I love the cracker thin crust and the kale pizza option. I've ordered from here several times and I can honestly say that everything on the menu is excellent. The square pizza is like a sicilian style with sauce on top BUT you can also get regular round pizza made traditionally. The chicken parm is our favorite on pizza or as a sub, but everything is really good. We also order calzones at least a few times per month (they're actually stromboli...there's no ricotta in them). We tried the wings last week and they were among the best in this area. As others have said, I don't like ordering at the counter and then seating yourself....the system is awkward since it's self-service yet someone brings you your food (but you have to get your own drinks, plates, etc.). Not many places bring out food that matches their own pictures. This place does, and it's as delicious as it looks. The gentleman at the counter advised me they had a special going on that included their cheesy bread and a drink with the pizza I ordered (My first time here, regulars probably already know). Went here a few weeks back (before it was even on Yelp), ordered what was essentially a veggie lovers, and really liked it. Three slices of the eight-slice pie left me slightly hungry, but what put it over the top was the custard cup they gave each of us afterwards -- a nice little treat that left me fat and happy. I tried the deep dish square pizza and the crispy cracker crust round pizza and both were outstanding. One of the best I've ever had in pizza. Visiting from out of town and asked the family for a pizza recommendation. Pi Squared was their favorite and glad we stopped by. Not sure I've ever had "Detroit" style pizza before but was really pleasantly surprised. I'm usually a razor thin crust fan so was skeptical of the deep dish look. I don't know what kind of magic they weave in the back but the crust has a nice airy vibe to it despite how thick it is. Toppings are fine, sauce is nice. My wife got a calzone and although she said there was no way she'd eat it all when it arrived it was 98% finished 10 minutes later. We also got the arugula salad which was tasty. We ordered a large all meat and 12 wings and it was about 30$ which isn't terrible considering the price you pay anywhere else, outside they have a pond with ducks and outdoor seating, you'll love coming here on a warm summer afternoon for a slice and a beer with your spouse! read more

This is an easy review to write - BEST PIZZA IN SPARTANBURG. And second place isn't even close.

My Dad has me hooked on this joint. The Supreme has so many veggies and meat that it's almost impossible to pick up to eat. I don't typically gravitate towards mushrooms, but something about theirs were on the verge of addiction status. I thought that $18 and change was a much better choice than ole Marco's (not NY pizza) down the street, fresh ingredients, and much cheaper. I may or may not have had the last two slices for breakfast. In fact, it's not even 9 am and now I'm craving this. I already had GF granola, but I'm using telepathy to get my Dad to bring some by later. I definitely think they're a hidden gem in Drayton Mills. The Gluten didn't bother me, or maybe they ordered GF by habitual force. Either way it was really nice to have a good pie for once. Literally the best pizza that has ever touched my salivary glands and taste buds-and I've tried every pizza in LA to Italy.

The food was pretty good, but this is not the place to go if you are hungry. I waited for an hour for a small pepperoni.

Heard about this place and went to try it for lunch. The employee taking our order was very friendly and helpful in explaining the menu as it was or first time. She even offered some suggestions which we took and were very pleased with. Ended up with the Detroiter with regular pepperoni (rather than spicy) and added garlic at her suggestion which was great. The pizza was incredible. It's a deep dish style with a caramelized crust. We've been back twice since and each time all of the employees have been exceedingly nice and friendly. This place will be our go to pizza place for now on. They have pick up and will deliver also. The only negative would be the location. Don't get me wrong it's a nice area and is very cool but just a little difficult to find the first time. read more
