I've been coming to this place for since it originally opened. Stuck with them through the good and the bad (slow service, order mistakes, cold food) over the years. Was saddened to hear that they closed, but then noticed that the drive through opened back up a few months back. Decided to stop in and give them another try. The difference from the old Pick-Quick was NIGHT AND DAY. Food was on point, hot and delicious... service was speedy and came with a smile. Burger tasted FANSTASTIC, reminded me of the In-N-Out taste which Dick's fails to deliver on. Experienced a small issue with my order on my first visit, spoke with Broderick who more than made it right. I am happy to report that Pick-Quick is back with a vengeance. Give these guys a try! Pick-Quick Drive In has the best fast food Burgers in the Puget Sound area, period. Sorry Dicks fans, these burgers are 10 times better. The ingredients are fresh, the burger patties taste like they came right off grill and the fries are super tasty. Pick-Quick is the closest thing to In-N-Out up here in Washington. Ok I'm not sure why there are negative reviews on this place because it serves some quality food. I'm talking In n Out quality! I got their deluxe double and strawberry milkshake and let's just say I ate before even getting home, it was that good! Their wait time on the food is on the longer side but what do you expect, this isn't jack in the box. Quality, fresh food takes longer. My daughter recently moved to Auburn and my wife and I were visiting. She saw this 1950s-ish looking place and wanted to try it. While the building is new, it does have that 50s look to it. We parked in the lot and went inside the glass and metal room. It has simple tables and a few counter seats. There is a large ordering area with the simple menu displayed on a sign above the counter. Basically, the offerings are hamburgers, hot dogs, french fries, ice cream (cones, sundaes, milk shakes, malts, and floats). What is odd about the menu pricing is that the condiments on the hamburgers cost extra (tomato, onions, pickles, etc...) if you want them. For me that was OK since I did not want most of them. My daughter ordered a Chocolate Malt and my wife had a custom milk shake (Green Creme De Menthe and San Francisco Mint). They both enjoyed their cold drinks (on a cold near freezing day -- I don't understand why people do that!). They each had the deluxe burger ($3.49 without cheese, and $3.89 with cheese). Deluxe means that it includes lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, and sauce. Adding delicious grilled onions adds $0.55 to the price. I had the Original Hamburger ($1.89) that includes ketchup, mustard, and a pickle, the great grilled onions ($0.55), and a side order of Chili ($2.59 topped with cheese and onions). Dipping the hamburger in the chili made a great combination; otherwise the hamburger is small and ordinary. After placing our order that totaled $24.78, Irena told us about a special offer. If we purchased a gift card for $25, not only would it pay for our meal now, but it would include a bonus $5 coupon. When I worked in Fife, I ate at the original Pick Quick frequently and always enjoyed it. For lunch yesterday, I stopped at the Pick Quick in Auburn; cheese burger, fires, and a chocolate malt. In the restaurant business, constant attention to detail is a must. The shake had large hard lumps of malt that kept sticking in the straw, it should never be like that. The bun, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sauce were all fresh and tasty, but the meat patty was way over cooked and dry. While the order of fries was huge, they were over cooked, over all this was a very disappointing lunch. read more

I really like this location, I did not realize there was a pick-quick that was somewhat restaurant style. All of the others I've been to are a small building where you order at a window and eat at picnic tables or in your car. This has covered outdoor seating and indoor seating. Plus the portion sizes on the fries are bigger. When we walked in there were 4 or 5 empty tables and none of them had been wiped down from previous customers. I understand you clean up after yourself by emptying your tray and throwing things away but someone should be wiping down tables when they see a bunch of people leave. There were some sketchy, possibly homeless people wandering the parking lot but I just ignored them. Overall I would come back to this one rather than the other small stands they have here and there. The Burgers (Double Deluxe are very close to an In-n-Out in California. There fries are equally as good.

1st off, their food is sourced locally, with grass fed, hormone free, antibiotic free beef, locally sourced vegetables, and Tillamook (Wa) cheese. That's a win. 2nd, it's made fresh. Some of the complaints from other yelpers is the wait time - people, that's cause they are making your food when you order it, not handing you a 2 hr old patty that's been sitting in a bin of water staying warm. 3rd, it's pretty basic, but yummy. There aren't a lot of choices on the menu - plain single or double burger with or without cheese, deluxe with veggies and same otions, hot dogs, same as the burgers, some fries and milk shakes. And they offer grilled or raw onions. Boom. They do a few things, and do them pretty well. We got a deluxe single cheese burger, a deluxe double cheese burger, a deluxe double cheese lettuce-wrapped burger (nice!), a regular fry, a chili cheese fry and a malted oreo shake. It was $28.00. Note that they don't start to cook your food until you order. As a result, in my experience, there will be at least a ten minute wait between ordering and receiving. If you are looking for one of those burger/puck assembly lines where you roll through the drive through, swipe your card, and get your bag of food handed too you all at five miles an hour, then you will be disappointed. This establishment labored under untrained servers when it first opened. Years later it has not improved. Tonight we tried Pick Quick again. This is what happened. We waited for 8 minutes before our order was taken and there were no cars in the line in front of us. When we got to the pick-up station and asked the attendant about it he just smirked and didn't answer the question. One order for fries and two medium root beer shakes was ordered. We received two orders of fries and two Large shakes. At least they were the right flavor. How can a business keep running with such inefficient service? Went on a Saturday afternoon - got there when there was a lull and there were approx 12 extra employees standing around. It took over 10 minutes to get our order and then it was wrong - but they immediately fixed it and didn't charge. Space is really nice and very "green". When I saw this place opening next door to Chicago Willy's, I thought to myself, they better be good or they won't be in business for long. I had high hopes because, hey competition makes everything better. I was in Auburn today for a doctor's appointment and decided to give them a shot. I have to say I was really disappointed. I tried the drive through. There was one car ahead of me. I don't think it took 15 minutes to get my food. But it was quite a while and the chocolate peanut butter malt that I ordered took much longer. I have to give them credit, the shake was very thick, and I like a good thick shake. However the flavor wasn't so good. There was too much chocolate. I know; too much chocolate that's crazy talk. But in this case too much chocolate mint the shake was kind of bitter. As for the food I ordered a deluxe bacon double cheeseburger and fries (they don't have onion rings). When something says it's "deluxe" I kind of expected it to be big, meaty, juicy and delicious. Most McDonald's hamburger patties would put these to shame. They are small and thin. Because they are thin they are easy to burn, and these were, burnt that is. There was an abundance of lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and onions. I can't fault them on the condiments. The fries are another story. They were limp, oily and unseasoned. When I took my food back, they courteously refunded my $12. The young man at the window was friendly and nice. The crew seemed to be genuinely concerned about my disappointment in the meal. I felt bad about it. But as I explained to them I wasn't trying to be mean. I really wanted to help them. After all, they are right across the street from a very good burger joint. The competition is fierce, and if they're going to survive they need to get their act together. If I were the manager of that crew, I would take them across the street and treat them to a really good burger. Not as a reward but as a lesson. They need to know their competition in order to be good, you need to know what good is. Now let's talk about the price. $12 is not an outrageous price for a good hamburger, fries and a drink. But it is much too high for mediocre food. I drove across the street, and for $11.22 I got a very good hamburger, amazing onion rings and a drink. I know that they are new, with an inexperienced crew. I've worked in the fast food industry, and I understand how hard it can be. Believe it or not I'm taking that into consideration when I rate this place with only two stars. Anyone who would give them five stars is either extremely lucky, a fan of really bad food, or the owner's mother. I promised them I would make another visit in a month or so. There's so much working against their great burger that it is hard to give it anything better than three stars. First let me say that their version of In n Out's classic Double Double is a noble attempt. I honestly enjoyed it. However, their fries were a soggy poor attempt at a french fry. The location was clean, comfortable and featured a TV to distract from conversing with friends, family and/or phone. What is working against a five, or even a four star review besides the soggy fries is the high price and lengthy wait time. I understand they cook everything fresh, but they aren't as expeditious as what they're trying to copy. This isn't a place a person could reasonably stop at if short on time. Lastly, the price is just short of ridiculous for a fast food meal. Double burger, fries and a soda was just about $11 after tax. I could go next door and get two huge burritos for that much. The staff was nice, service quick and good yummy. I had the deluxe cheeseburger and fries with their pick quick sauce. The burger was great, not to big or to small but well made (with locally raised beef no less) real, actual lettuce, tomato and cheese on top and the bun tasted very fresh as well. The fries were clearly homemade, which is almost a win imo and their sauce was supper yummy. I kinda wanted to lick the container when I was done it was so yummy. And it was priced well. I'm. It sure what more you'd want from a quick burger and fries that's a thousand steps above the Golden Arches. Some times I do not feel like having a half pound cheeseburger. There are days where I simply want something fresh without being over the top. Days where I want beef, cheese, tomatoes, and pickles. First thing to understand, though it says "Quick" in the title this place will never be as fast as McDonald's or Wendy's. That is because they are making your cheeseburger from scratch. You can go outside where they have picnic tables and watch them through the glass if you so desire. It isn't the pink slimy meat. It isn't precooked or flash fried. They take the meat and form the patties. Think of this more like Five Guys than McDonald's. The cheeseburgers are delightful in their simplicity. If you want more meat, you can order a double. They offer a nice selection of cheeseburgers and milkshakes. The employees behind the counter have always been very pleasant when I have visited, and they have never taken excessive time for what they are offering. This location is in Auburn and is clean and well lit. There is plenty of parking. On sunny days there are picnic tables in a small grassy lot on the side of the restaurant. Surrounded by tall enough trees it made it feel a bit secluded in a very pleasant way. They have nothing to hide, and there are plenty of viewing opportunities to watch the employees hard at work. Picked up a Hamburger, fries and a shake on my way home. The bun was stale, the burger was about 1/4". You could barely even taste the burger at all. The fries were soggy and burnt at the same time. The staff seemed nice enough, and the shake was okay. Nothing like picking up your meal and driving home and being utterly disappointed. We would give this place a 4.5 only because the pick quick sauce was way to thick. My original hamburger with extra pickles was delicious however nowhere on the menu board did it state extra charge for pickles, my huband had the deluxe cheeseburger but next time will opt for grilled onions instead of raw and the Tillamook cheese instead of American.
